Today, 19 years ago ... a little after 5pm, this amazing human being slipped away after a long battle with cancer. It was a day I’ll never forget. It was as awful as it was freeing. You don’t want this person to go but you don’t want them to suffer. And of course, you get on with life but there is always a part of you that feels like there is something missing. I don’t ever want her to be forgotten. She was the strongest, sweetest, funniest & most wonderful person I had ever known. She was here, her life mattered & she made a difference. I love you Sarah. ❤️

I can't say enough about this photo. It melts my heart but also breaks it. This is a father & his first born daughter. She's been sick & fighting for her life. He's playing in a charity basketball game in her honor. And she's holding onto him like she did when she was a little girl. I feel so fortunate that this man is also my father. Thank you for being such a wonderful dad. Thank you for raising us girls to be strong, independent women. And thanks for being the best example of what a man should be.
