1) Creatively expressing myself
not only is Lula’s affinity for theatrical misdirection something she’s talented in and loves to do, but it’s also an outlet for her personal expression. Lula has a hard time communicating. Yes she’s vocal, but making connections on a personal level is hard for her ( given her past ). What she struggles with one on one she channels into the performance of her craft.
2) Bending the rules or having a good time
If she’s not gonna have a good time then she’s not gonna do it, and if bending the rules is a part of it then so be it ( there’s also a sense of enjoyment for the thrill of it).
3) Defending a cause or supporting an organization
Just like every single member of the horsemen, Lula could start her own show or find another way to garner individual fame for personal gain. But the cause to her is important – protecting the world and the people living in it. lula grew up in a very dysfunctional home where there was no one to watch over or protect her, and as such, she gained a very particular need to care for others. In joining the horsemen lula gained the ability to fight the corruption against the people. not only had she found a family and a fulfilling way of self expression ( with enjoyment in the thick of it !! ) but she had also found a group of individuals who, at the very end of the day, wanted to do the world some good. you could say that in a sense lula had already garnered her own attention previously to joining the group ( even danny had seen her infamous rabbit/ hat trick ) but from the very beginning she had a plan as to where she was headed. So although perhaps the cause for which she performs is on the latter end of importance ( in comparison to the former two ) it still surrounds them to a general equal/ lesser than value.
