3d is getting really impressive.
Reed thought about all the things he could do, but quickly dismissed all his ideas. “It’s got to be big,” he mumbled. “It’s not like i can just propose to her though.” Suddenly Reed’s eyes widened, “I couldn’t propose... it’s too soon, right? I don’t want to scare her..” The more he thought about the idea of proposing to Delaney on her birthday though, the better it sounded. They had been together under a year, but only just, and their relationship had always moved fast. “Oh god,” Reed sighed, “Can I really do this?”
When he returned home, Reed decided to take a soak in the hot tub to clear his mind. “I need to figure this out quick, i can’t afford to be distracted at work,” he chided himself. After having messed up the beginning of their relationship so royally, Reed really wanted to prove to her how special she was to him. “I’ve got to make sure she knows how much I love her...”
Reed’s streak of inattention only got worse throughout the day. He ended up accidentally shining the eye tester way to close to a patients face, leaving the poor man seeing stars. The patient asked to be examined by another person, so Reed finished up his paper filing and left for home a bit early.
It wasn’t until Reed took his lunch break that he’d realized he had changed into his cleaning scrubs this morning. “Come on Reed,” he mumbled to himself, “This is your job.” After he finished eating, he headed to the locker room to put on his field scrubs.
After talking to the girls doctor, Reed prepared the medication she was prescribed. I don’t think the girl was too sure she could trust Reed though, she looked pretty weary of her meds.
On his way to work, Reed started thinking about Delaney’s birthday. It was only a week away and he really wanted to do something special for her, he just didn’t know what. Reed tried to focus on his work but thoughts about what he should get her kept popping up. Not only did Reed try delivering a diabetics meal to the wrong patient, he also tried examining a patient who had already been diagnosed.
Milo spent about an hour doing all the calculations for his income, as well as Emmett’s. By his calculations, the two of them made more than enough to cover general expenses and rent. “Alright,” he smiled to himself, “Time to talk to mom and dad..” Milo was just hoping his mom wouldn’t cry when they told her they were planning to move.
When Milo got up, he headed to the computer to do some research of his own. He printed out some papers with information on the house he and Emmett were looking at as well as some bank statements to figure out their budget.
Reed grabbed a cup off the counter and filled it with water. “Cheers,” he held the glass up to her.
Noelle smiled at her brother, “It’s a miracle you aren’t single you big dork,” she laughed. “Cheers.” Noelle and Reed chatted in the kitchen for a bit before Reed took off for work. After finishing her coffee, Noelle was ready for some yoga.
Noelle changed back into her workout gear and headed downstairs to do some yoga. “But first some coffee,” she thought, making a detour to the kitchen. After she brewed a cup, she was surprised to see Reed standing beside her.
“Someone looks happy this morning,” he eyed her suspiciously.
“What? A girl can’t be a morning person?”
“Not you,” he teased.
Pouting a bit, she broke into laughter. “Okay, okay, you caught me. If you must know... I applied for a job at a local magazine contractor.”
“What?!” Reed looked at her with wide eyes, “I didn’t know you wanted to write.”
“I didn’t know myself,” Noelle shrugged, “I was just browsing and thought it sounded interesting. It’s not like I got it or anything, it’s just an application.”
“That’s still a huge step for you Noelle! I’m really proud of you,” he said looking around the kitchen, “Here!”
“Simiview is looking for talented young writers who want to get their foot in the journalistic world. We need charismatic individuals who don’t mind spending their days and evenings in the office and on the field. There’s no guarantee that any of your works will get published, but you will have the ability to submit your work for review each week. This position is perfect for anyone just looking to gain experience and develope connections in the field.” That sounds good, she thought to herself. “It’s says here, that the position only requires two things. Personality and writing talent...” After debating herself for a moment, Noelle smiled and reached for her phone. She stared nervously at the screen for a moment, before finally taking a deep breath and hitting send on her application.
When she got back to the house, Noelle found that her family was all still asleep. It wasn’t all that surprising considering it was only 6:30... Noelle headed into the office and started scouring the internet for open work positions in town. The only thing left, was figuring out what she wanted do.
Noelle was so excited thinking about her plans for the future, that she only got a few hours of restless sleep. The next morning, she was up and out the door for a run as the sun began to rise.
The longer Noelle stared at herself in the mirror, the less sorry she began to feel for herself. “No more moping around, Noelle. It’s time to do something with your life.” As she gave herself a pep talk, she decided it was time for her to find herself a job. Reed had his medical career, Milo his programming, Shay the yoga studio, Emmett the comedy club, and Kendall had is art. It was time for Noelle to find, no make, her own spot in the world. She was done letting the ride take her wherever it wanted, it was her turn to be in control. Noelle locked eyes with herself in the mirror and smiled, raising her fist into the air, “I can do this.” Content with herself , Noelle left the bathroom and headed to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a big day.
When she was sure everyone was asleep, Noelle snuck quietly into the bathroom to take her makeup off for bed. As she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror she groaned silently, “I thought young adulthood would be a lot different but it just looks like more of the same...” Thinking once again about the nights event’s, Noelle was painfully reminded of her aching heart.
