Ramadan Reflections with Al-Fateh
Day 15 | Juz 15 | p. 297 Al-Kahf (18 : 28-34) • Just like how Allah has commanded Rasulullah SAW, we should keep ourselves among people who constantly remember Allah and choose our friends from among the righteous people over the people who prefer this dunya. We should not follow the ways of the disbelievers when they follow their own desires. - this reminds me of the importance of choosing friends wisely as there is also a hadith that says one follows the ways of his companions. • The wrong-doers and disbelievers will be punished in Hellfire, and if they ask for a drink, Allah gives them a drink like boiling oil that will scald their faces. • Allah assures the believers who do righteous deeds in the most perfect manner. They will be rewarded with jannah adn' where rivers flow beneath them as they sit on raised thrones. They will be dressed in green garments of fine and thick silk and wear gold bracelets. • Allah then mentions the story of two men who both had flourishing gardens of grapes. One of them was a believer and one was a believer. The disbeliever became complacent with the wealth he had, and he boasted to the other man that he had more wealth and strength. - this reminds me that we must be grateful for what we have and know with certainty that our provision, strength and wealth all comes from Allah.
