In the dub Mako says “Sometimes you just have to know how you measure up. Sometimes…Like, maybe, when you’re not sure where you stand”

And in the sub Mako says “I wanted to try swimming a serious race against Haru, I’m not sure why. Maybe I was jealous of Rin.”
