I'm really hoping that they bring back The original Wally West, or else this whole series seems a little pointless. Especially because it seems a little half committed to the idea. If you are going to rebuild the original Titans, then you not only need Wally, you have to have Flamebird, Golden Eagle, Duela Dent (whom they did give an Easter Egg too over in Red Hood/Arsenal with Lillith interviewing her), Tula and Don "Dove" Hall, who has also been mentioned.

So in this weeks Supergirl digital comic, she's dreaming of all the alternate multiverse versions of Supergirl. From New 52, to Bombshells, to Pre-Crisis. But the above image where she says "Pink's actually not a bad look for me" seems odd to me. Has Supergirl ever actually worn a pink version of her costume? Or was this an Easter egg to the famous Pink costume versions they sell at Halloween? Anyone have any ideas?

BATGIRL / SUPERGIRL CONNECTION????

So last night, the Supergirl TV show brought back a vintage piece of Supergirl history, the mystical Omegahedron from the original 1980′s movie (never in the comic book). In the movie this was the power source of Argo City, and Kara came to Earth to retrieve it (the plot isn’t the best)... ANYWAY...

If you are reading the Batgirl Comic Book, Batgirl has been trying to figure out plans for a top secret weapon called the Negahedron. This seems a little too similar. We know that Supergirl is making a return to Comics this summer, with more of the TV show influence on the character. Supergirl and Batgirl always end up working on something together... is it possible that the TV show revealed an Easter Egg to the fans letting them know there will be a future connection between the two superheroines??

I dont understand why in dc super hero girls Harley and Ivy are super heroes when they are villains? Then people think Harley is an anti hero bc of that! I wish dc would stop making almost every female villain a role model or cute just because they're women. I don't see then doing it to Joker or two face or scarecrow. Where is dc super hero boys with Joker being cute with a cute doll? Saving the world with Batman and Robin? they should be villains or not in the show at all.

The reason they want female villains to be role models in this show is because it’s target audience is little girls. Specifically little girls who haven’t been introduced to comics yet. They want iconic characters that are already popular outside of the show. Harley and Ivy are great characters that are already in a lot of other media. This show is meant to act as a gateway to other comic things when the target audience gets older. And when they go searching for those things, they’ll find all this stuff with Harley and Ivy being great villains.

They’re not turning them into heroes “just because they’re women”. They’re turning them into heroes because they’re great characters who they want in their CHILDREN’S show as positive role models. They want children to like them. Many children don’t have a natural disposition to like the villains like adults/teens do. At that age, if you show them something and tell them it’s bad, they’re going to steer away from that thing. The creators of this show want them embracing Harley and Ivy. And ya know, 5 years down the line if they stick with comics, they’ll find out Harley and Ivy are villains and be old enough to love them as villains.

DC Super Hero Boys is redundant because…lmao that’s like every other comic based show. As for making Joker or Scarecrow soft, Scarecrow I could honestly see working. The Joker is just too much a “be all end all” to evil and has been depicted that way for so long that he might not work so well. They’re not doing that because there’s no shortage of A. shows featuring all male protags and B. DC males that are already iconic positive role models without any side switching. (By the way, there ARE children’s toys with happy smiling nice Joker figures in them. They diluted him because, AGAIN, IT’S FOR CHILDREN.)

They’re using Harley and Ivy because, while villains, they do show humanity. You don’t have to wrap your head around the idea too much before you accept it. Whereas the Joker being a hero would be really hard to swallow for even young audiences, Harley and Ivy have on occasion done good things. (Yes, I do mean pre New 52.) They’re just taking what’s already there, and amplifying it.

All the people I see complaining about this are, shocker, not little girls. Because little girls love it. People need to be able to separate their adult comic spaces, from children’s comic spaces. Stop policing children’s comic spaces because they’re not “canon” like??? This is the same thing that happened with My Little Pony. Sure, anyone can enjoy a series no matter what it’s target group is. But you have to enjoy it while letting it stay for that target group. It’s like your friend ordering a gluten free pizza for themself and you ask if you can have some and they say sure, and then you take a bite and start complaining about how there’s no gluten and send it back to be redone. It wasn’t even meant for you.

Also - Kids and Adults LOVED Tiny Titans, and that always had the villains show up as lovable mischievous kids.

And btw - it's not TOO far fetched to believe that the Joker could be the corny prankster in the school, ala silver age Joker, but i wouldn't get my hopes up.

More unreleased Garcia Lopez artwork for the abandoned "Wonder Woman and the Star Riders" toy fair presentation in 1993. Would love to find full color versions of these!
