A primary feature of quarks is that they're always bonded together, but in that moment, I felt like a neutrino, destined to be alone forever. Thankfully, I was wrong. Young Sheldon 2.22: A Swedish Science Thing and the Equation for Toast
Jim & Simon - Show me what you got
“I mean, what’s thoughtful is everything you do. Here, you know what? Look at this. Look, here’s the, the plane ticket you bought me when I was too poor to go home for the holidays. And the rose you left on my windshield just because. Here’s the, the thank you letter you wrote me after the first time I slept with you. All 11 pages of it.”
“I can’t believe you saved all this stuff.”
“Of course I did. It’s you.”
Dear Tiktok people,
I couldn’t agree more with what you said! Now I can’t help but imagine the ‘what ifs,’ and it makes me want to either write about it or find something to read!

Jim: I don’t know… We like us together. Mayim: We do! Jim: So this break-up has been hard on both of us as actors.
If you need me, I’ll be in the sin closet.
Still here after ten years
“There’s not much changed here,” Sheldon said to Amy, eyes scanning the familiar hallway walls.
“So much has changed,” Amy said to Sheldon, her voice quivering, eyes glossing as she fought back tears.
“Leonard, your son, said he wanted to go here for college,” Amy said, her tone half-proud, half-nervous. “He says it’s the only place that makes sense.”
“I know this is hard, Amy. But I think this is the only way we can be better. For ourselves, and for our children, they deserve functioning parents.” Sheldon said, clutching the pen a little too tightly.
“This school is very lucky to have Coopers working and studying here,” Sheldon said, glancing at the names engraved near the physics hall: Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler and Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper. “And now Leonard Cooper is on his way here to study. It’s a strong legacy.”
“I am very lucky to have you as my wife… and to build a family with you,” Sheldon said slowly. “But we are not working anymore.”
“When I told them that we reconciled a year ago, that was the happiest I’ve seen them. Laura even asked if you’ll stay with us again,” Amy smiled faintly. “She’s really a daddy’s girl.”
“What about Leonard and Laura?” Amy had asked, desperately. “How are we supposed to tell them?”
“I’m happy we tried… went back to being friends again,” Sheldon said, folding his hands behind his back as they passed the old vending machine.
“We’ll still be their parents,” Sheldon answered, trying to keep his voice level. “We can be friends again and co-parent at the same time.”
“But we were never just friends, were we?” Amy said, stopping mid-hall, turning to face him. “Not really.”
"You became not only my wife, Amy, but also one of my best friends,” Sheldon had whispered, lips tight. “But I didn’t know how to hold onto you without losing myself. And I couldn’t risk losing you in both ways."
“I’ve watched you learn how to let go, Sheldon. And then… I saw you learn how to hold on again.” Amy’s voice was tender now. “Not perfectly, but intentionally.”
“Maybe we just… weren’t ready for each other,” Amy had said, hands trembling over the divorce papers. “Maybe we needed to unlove each other to understand what love meant.”
They reached the bench outside the lab. The same bench they last sat on as husband and wife.
“I kept thinking,” Sheldon said, sitting down slowly, “what if I had been the stronger one back then? What if I had fought harder?”
“I keep thinking,” Amy had said as she placed the signed paper in the envelope, “what if we were treating a stable system like it was malfunctioning? Trying to recalibrate something that was already in equilibrium?”
Then she whispered to herself “What if we kept fixing something that wasn’t even broken… and ended up breaking it ourselves?”
“I was scared then. Of needing you,” Sheldon admitted, eyes on the ground. “But these past ten years? I’ve been terrified of not having you… like a particle realizing it can’t exist in isolation without collapsing.”
“I never stopped loving you,” Amy whispered, voice breaking. “That’s the part that hurt the most.”
“I recalculated,” Sheldon said, turning to her, his tone soft but sure. “The numbers, the variables, the probability curves. I ran them again. And every outcome that ended in happiness… had you in it.”
“So this is it,” Amy had said, her voice low and drained. “No more theories. Just conclusions... just endings.”
He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small navy box.
Amy’s breath caught. She knew exactly what was inside, it was the same box he had used ten years ago.
“I don’t need to run the data anymore. I know,” Sheldon said. “Amy Farrah Fowler, would you marry me… again?”
Sheldon slid the final page into the envelope and handed it to her. “This doesn’t mean I don’t love you. It means I love you enough to let you go.”
Amy’s fingers trembled as they closed around the box. Her voice cracked, but her eyes stayed on his.
“You really want to do this again?” she asked softly.
“I never wanted to stop.”
They sat in silence, back then, both knowing that letting go was necessary. Both hoping the future would be kinder.
This time, she reached for his hand.
And this time, she didn’t let go.
PS: I wrote this while listening to this song on repeat.
