Recently, a new Chinese web series came out titled, Addicted: the Webseries. Also a novel known in China as: 你丫上瘾了 《Nǐ Yā Shàngyǐn Le》the title fit quite well with the content of the novel and it sure made the audience, who quickly became fans, simply addicted. The novel itself is pretty long. I’ve noticed that it is split into sections with at least 5-6 chapters each.
I didn’t think much of it since I happened upon it while watching Forensic Files. Funny, how it was recommended through a completely different genre but it was definitely a good accident. After watching season one, which was a mere 15 episodes, barely 20 minutes each (cut version T.T), I decided that I needed to find out what happened after. It was a must.
So, I did what anyone would do when they must know what happens after! First, I already had a Chinese book app and audio book app that I’ve been using to practice my Chinese language skills, so I figured I might as well search it up through those apps. And oh boy was I rewarded; my patience paid off. I found the audio book, which was amazing. There are only two parts out right now, each one hour long and it goes passed the end of season one. Let me just go off, Chinese audio books are amazing.*。* Utterly amazing. When listening to a story, it’s exactly like watching a tv show, all the sounds and actions of the characters plus background music are there. It’s pretty cool and I couldn’t help but compare it to the english audio books I’ve listened to before. I started reading the novel from the beginning and honestly the web series did pretty well. And goodness…the things that happens after season one \*_*//
But, my goal here is not to continue raging on about the novel (that I haven’t finished) or web series since we all like the show enough to want to know what happened after; but simply to enjoy and talk about them with everyone. It’s no fun enjoying it alone…sometimes. XD
Therefore, I decided to translate the novel chapter by chapter, BUT only the contents after season one, I’m super excited to continue reading the novel and definitely looking forward to working on this during my spare time. And even more so, to talk about it with everyone.
On a side note, I am not a native Chinese speaker (and English is also my second language, so ignore my grammar issues T.T) even though I am half Chinese, but I did test out of Chinese Oral and Written Proficiency Level 5 out of 6 levels. I still have to look up words and sometimes grammar structures. So this would definitely help improve my Chinese language skills. I will do my best :) I hope everyone gets to enjoy this novel as much as I have.
I will post the first chapter before Monday March 14. I picked to start one chapter before the end of season one, which is chapter 112. :)
