POTS Friendly Mocktail 4

Note: All drinks in this series contain some form of electrolytes and are easy to make. Ingredients and measurements are flexible and substitutions can be made as desired. These can be made for one using a single serving of each ingredient or as a large batch with one serving per person.

Today's mocktail:

Electrolyte sun tea

Ingredients:

-Favorite floral tea blend (I used locally harvested red clover, raspberry leaf, lavender, and mint)

-Water

-Sugar, honey, stevia, or other sweetener as desired (optional)

-Lemon flavored electrolyte drink or powder (I used a generic lemon flavored electrolyte powder)

Place tea, sweetener, and water in a jar and leave in full sun for about 2-4 hours, checking occasionally. Once the tea is the desired strength, let cool if needed, then add electrolytes and mix well. Drink as is or over ice or freeze into a delicious slushy. Enjoy!

Salted caramel milkshake

Ingredients:

-Caramel ice cream, frozen yogurt, or vegan/dairy free alternative (I used a generic brand of salted caramel ice cream

-Milk or vegan/dairy free substitute

-Unflavored electrolyte powder (I used a generic brand)

-Extra salt as desired (optional)

-Any desired toppings (optional; I used caramel syrup and whipped cream)

In a blender or shaker bottle (or a jar with a tight seal), combine milk, ice cream, electrolytes, and salt. Blend or shake well until preferred consistency is reached. Drink as is or top as desired. Enjoy!

I know we are all used to hear bad news from the USA or UK when it comes to trans rights but this time Germany wants to play in the same league.

Our idiots at home ministry came up with the fucking idea to start a register for all transgender and nonbinary people which would mean every person working at some public position could always at any given time see your assigned gender at birth, your deadname, your address and who knows what else.

We had been there in the past. Hitler Germany called it the "Travestite Law" back then. Our politicians didn't learn.

We all know this is unacceptable.

you need to be able to explain why you shouldnt use ai rather than “oh well its obviously bad and you shouldnt use it or else youre a bad person” because that isn’t logic. “ai generates child porn based off of real children and whether or not it does is entirely up to how it is built and if pedophiles are able to find ways around those safeguards, because ai cannot in itself discern right from wrong” is a genuine criticism. “amazon tried to build a data center the size of tuson outside of tuson just to power their ai that would’ve increased the inability to stay alive outside in parts of arizona” is a genuine criticism. even “using generative ai teaches you not to learn how to do things yourself even when they’re difficult, devaluing necessary skills out of practice” is a genuine criticism when you look at the amount of people who think they are able of doing a difficult major when they couldnt write their own papers in high school.

but “ai is just bad because it’s bad” will convince no one and is a morally lazy position to take. about anything!

you need to know why reading someone’s diary is wrong if you want to learn about privacy and respect. you need to know why child sexual assault is wrong if you want to be able to help children form healthy age appropriate relationships. you need to know why capitalism is bad if you want to replace it with something else. you need actual concrete ideas and ideologies rather than “you should agree with me because i have the right vibe”
