Story time about today’s run:
When we were checking into our hotel we were ~third in line and the machine they use to code the room keys stopped working so it was taking awhile and then after like 15 mins the woman behind us went up to the concierge and was so so rude demanding they do all these things for her since she had to wait and she said a few other things not meant for here but *eye roll* my friend and I felt SO bad for the woman working because obviously it wasn’t her fault the key machine wasn’t working, it was beyond her control. They were letting people into their rooms but an employee had to escort you to let you in and you needed to come back to the front if you needed to get into your room again later- a little inconvenient but not the end of the world.
Long story short- we decided to make a mission to our run and we ran to a grocery store to buy the concierge flowers to try to brighten her day a little after people were being so rude to her. My friend stopped after three miles but I did two more (with flowers) and got so many looks and comments, “look that girl is running with flowers how adorable!” I’d like to think I now have a reputation as the mysterious girl running around savannah with a bouquet of flowers.
When I got back we gave them to the concierge and she was so grateful she hugged our sweaty selves and it felt so good to put that good karma out there into the universe. Not your typical five miler.
