“Ce qu’on apprend au millieu des fléaux. C’est qu’il y a chez l’homme plus de choses à admirer qu’a mépriser” - Albert Camus
Translation: “what we learn in the midst of plagues is that there are more things to admire in men than there are to despise”
In light of the dark events that occurred last night in Paris, this quote rings so true to me. A while ago, I tried to write a piece that began with “Peace has left the world” because I really believe this. Sad, but true. The world is so broken now and the healing required to get us all back to some form of sanity lies on a long and difficult road. However, what truly truly uplifted my heart was the outflow of compassion from different corners of the globe towards those affected by these heinous crimes. Our world is filled with humans capable of almost insurmountable evil but it is also filled with humans capable of love, light and joy. It is the latter that I choose to focus on because these are the humans that can birth prayers for the injured. And speak huge amounts of undying love and support to those who have been broken down by these events.
At the same time, I want to recognise every other part of the world being assaulted by acts of hate. You are not forgotten. I am praying, Lord. We are all praying..
That Peace would one day find this world worthy to grace with its presence again
On the real though Donald Trump. How is it 'interesting' that these shootings happened in a country that's tough on guns? Tell us Don? Because it sounds like that vacuous observation was about giving your NRA-loving constituency a handjob and spinning a tragedy for political gain and I'm thinking maybe using a situation where dozens of innocents have just been murdered in the streets isn't the best time. No?
Please, this.
I keep meaning to watch this but it's so long 😩
My neighbours are really strange.
Now this other guy is on his own balcony making duck noises. If I didn't know a mother duck and her babies waddle around in our garden every day I'd call him crazy. But then again, he's a human. Making duck noises...
Watching this guy from my balcony watching TV. I feel like he's watching the Parent Trap but hasn't decided if he wants to keep watching it or not. The remote control is still in his hand, aimed at the TV and he has that unsettled look about him. It's funny.
um yeah, having a panic attack and feeling like u have no one to talk to, deffo up there in the top 10 worst feelings
So I wrote a story and now I’m blogging about it lol. The link is quite temperamental. But if it works and you love it, please vote for it :) Two of my fave fellow tumblr users have entries in as well ( @theforgetterseye Bones and @youngthatiam - Yam)

What then are artists and writers supposed to do when their passions become their sickness?
Questions from the night for the night
There are days when there are two of you. On these days, one of you is lying down while the other is carrying them along. I think this is what depression feels like.
