I wish I never put off recording my EP

I'm sitting on my bed with the acoustic and I swear writing a well structured, difficult to play, sonically pleasing song is the only thing that will most always clear my head and refocus my mind.  Sometimes I wish I would have never got into a heavier band when I was younger. I could have seen myself becoming a much better musician than I am now had I not gotten into more technically demanding music. Had I just focused solely on acoustic/softer material I feel like I would have figured out all my unfinished songs and I would have hit a groove by now, instead of waiting for four other guys to try to get their lives and priorities in order.  It just seems like I always find my way back to my roots, finger picking, big jazz chords and having weird chord progressions that cover 12+ frets.  Just sometimes I wish I would have just believed in myself and my own abilities more instead of putting it all aside, after getting talked into joining band after band and genres my heart wasn't completely into.  Granted I do have fun playing heavier stuff but I just feel capable of so much more musically than playing simple chord progressions and stupid slowed down riffs just so that a crowd will dance and someone will get kicked in the face.

My cell phones been screwed up, apparantly it gets constipated with texts and I wind up getting 20 messages from people 3days after the fact.  Really, really inconvenient and quite confusing...although its funny to think people were actually just finding out Osama Bin Laden was killed today.

Osama Bin Laden has been killed.

I know a lot of FDNY and NYPD guys that have waited patiently for this day to come for ten years.  I know it doesn't change a single thing or bring back anyone that lost their lives here in New York on September 11th 2001,  But I can only hope that it brings them and their families even just the smallest bit of closure and helps them sleep at night.  I am concerned for retaliation, but I hope that from this day forward that this will mark a new day and a new beginning of life without so much fear and life without trepidation.  I can't tell you how many friends lost their families on 9/11 and how many kids lost their innocence that day, I truly hope that they and their family find some form of comfort tonight.  It feels good to be a New Yorker and I know retribution isn't the right word but it almost feels like justice has finally been served, I'm so grateful for all the troops that have served overseas, and I CANNOT wait to thank and hug my friends serving in Afghanistan tonight when they get home.  I'm sitting here watching reports and seeing it scroll on the news ticker and I honestly couldn't believe it at first, but I almost feel lighter and a bit elated, as fireworks go off left and right and people cheer in the streets here on long island.  God bless the troops and god bless america.

My night sucked...But heres a few rough song ideas that were bouncing in my head.

its 10+ minutes and in one shot...

I've come to the obvious conclusion that I need to play acoustic more often and set it up since its been in storage.  Since playing a tele and a bunch of ec1000s as my main setup and then switching to an acoustic with the higher action and wider spacing always screws up my jazz chords and chord progressions.  Nonetheless atleast I have ideas on paper finally... err video.

But yeah I gotta go its time to cook up some breakies and head out to my photography class.
