ollie flapped his hands happily when anthony came over with a worker, knowing they’d be able to get pirate home shortly. first, he wanted to know more about their new fur baby. “hi ashley! it’s nice to meet you, i’m ollie! um! questions, first- this is pirate! do you know what kind of kitty pirate is? and how old is she? and what happened to her eye? we’re gonna get her an eye patch! but like for halloween, not for all the time!”

Anthony smiled fondly at his husband, but allowed Ashley to answer all of the questions that Ollie had. The blond walked in front of Ollie, glad to educate. “It’s nice to meet you as well, Ollie. Pirate is a wonderful name for that girl, she is pretty adventurous! Pirate is a gray tabby. We actually had her dropped off here in a cardboard box, abandoned. So sadly we aren’t sure what injury she endured or how old she is exactly. We think she may be around two or three years old based on her size and overall health. You could definitely put an eyepatch on her, but we can tell she has good vision in her eye. She gets around well on her own and is very attentive.”

ollie frowned, gasping at anthony’s comment. “no! pirate won’t eat our friends! we don’t gotta worry about that, she’s gonna be a good girl!” they kissed the top of her head, squeaking when their husband did the same thing to them. “i love you, bubba!” they said to him before he left. they nodded to him before cradling the cat in their arms. “we are gonna take you home and i’m so excited, pirate!”

Anthony returned to Ollie with one of the kind ladies from the front, a blond who was eager to help them sign off on adopting Pirate. He stood beside his husband and rubbed his arm. “Honey, this is Ashley she’ll get us all set up front. She just wanted to see the little one we picked so she can get a carrier for her.”

“yeah? yeah! i think so too! and yeah! she can wear a little eye patch, right? that’d be cute!” ollie gushed. they became more aware of their hands flapping when ant mentioned it, but it made them happy to know that even animals had their own special way of showing their happiness. it made them feel less odd to see that it was a positive thing. “cute! kneading means they’re super comfy too, so she feels good with us! i think i wanna get her! no i know i wanna get her! we’re gonna have a pirate kitty! yay! can we tell them we wanna adopt her now?” they leaned down to kiss the top of pirate’s head and giggled. “you wanna come home with us, baby girl? meet your dog, mice, and fishy siblings!”

Anthony chuckled, “Of course, you will be able to dress her up however you want, honey. And yes, she feels safe with you. We can certainly let the staff know we want to take her, if you know that’s our kitty then we can get her all good to come with us.” He kissed Ollie’s head and grinned at them. “We will have to teach Pirate that the mice and the fish are her family, not her dinner.” He couldn’t help but laugh at that, bumping his shoulder against Ollie’s. “I will go get someone from the front and you can stay with Pirate. They will let us know what we need to do.”
