we considered doing that, but it’s too much of a hassle to switch around accounts :( plus we didn’t want to risk getting banned if ever the rumors about hacking the game were true 

(we’re being patient and it’s sad that the hype is sort of dying down here and still no game)

Pokemon GO Release + Mod Talk

Hi everyone! We’re really happy a lot of you have already gotten to play the new game (Australia, NZ, and North America, I hear), and we love all the new screencaps and stuff that’s been generated because of it. Sadly, it hasn’t been released in our (mods’) region yet so there really isn’t much for us to post. Prayer circle for us mods who have to see everyone having a good time but can’t join in

That said, we think the current pool of asks we had held on to back when the game was being developed has become outdated, so we wont be answering the older things in there. 

Don’t fret though, because we’ll be opening the asks for stories, jokes, questions directed at the comic characters, or what-have-you that you think might be interesting to share to other trainers following this blog. We will try to insert our own little comics here and there as well.

Please feel free to drop us a line, and keep us busy while we wait to join you all out there ; v ;

This post was a long time coming, and we were actually preparing this for June but things don’t always go according to plan.

Anyway, here’s our answer to what will happen now that the game is released! It’ll probably be a while before Pokemon GO releases in the mods’ areas (and the rest of the world), but we’ll tough it out till then. 

In the mean time we’ll probably add to this blog every now and then, there’s still a bunch of asks in the inbox we’ve been meaning to answer but I don’t know how relevant those’ll be now that the game is out.

We hope everyone who’s in places where the game is already released has a good time (and stays safe!!). Train on!

I realized that it’s on the beta test signup website, http://pokemongo.nianticlabs.com It states that, if picked, I’ll get an email with specific instructions. Thank the lord for the fact they said specific, because if they weren’t specific, I’d probably fail to follow them. Sometimes I wonder how I got into Ravenclaw. Thank you for your information, though! I’m happy that one of my favorite tumblrs actually responded to me! It makes me feel great! The Pokémon GO Field Test Details:

You can customize your trainer

You don’t receive a starter Pokémon

Only Generation 1 Pokémon are found in the beta.

The stats in the game are the following: Attack, Defense, Individual Defense and Pokémon Defense.

232 moves are program in the game. (Meaning the game will support Pokémon Battles)

You can join Team Red, Team Blue or Team Green.

A new move called “Starburst” was found in the data. (Still unknown if the move is exclusive to Pokémon GO or introduce in Sun and Moon)

You don’t battle wild Pokémon. You can directly caught them using a Pokeball, Great ball, Ultraball or Masterball.

The game has reference to Google Cardboard.

The game size is 47.97 MB on Android.

Actually, John Hanke made a statement about the cancelling of the GDC panel to Game Informer. He states they cancelled the panel to prepare the product for beta and launch. I'd send you a link but Tumblr blocks it.

Oh no, I just checked now. It really has been cancelled. :( That’s quite unfortunate for us, but let’s look at it this way: them focusing more on development might mean we’ll get more info on beta tests and release soon, hopefully.
