The soft crackle of the green fire and the soft swooshing of the lake against the glass created the perfect study environment for you. You were comfortably tucked into one of the leather couches, a green fuzzy blanket Narcissa, your boyfriend’s mother, had made you for your birthday tucked around your legs, and your potions book propped opened on your knees.
Although many people hated potions, you were quite fond of it and had no problem with the long essay that Snape assigned. A loud noise to your right announced the arrival of the Slytherin Quidditch team, including your boyfriend, all of whom had just gotten done with practice. Draco’s cheeks were tinted pink and his blond hair was windswept. A goofy grin was plastered to his face as he strode over to you and gave you a long kiss.
“Hi love.” You intertwined your fingers with his and rested your head on his stomach, looking up at him.
“Hi beautiful.” He brushed a strand of hair out of your face and his gaze wandered to what you were working on.”Oh! The essay on uses for salamader blood. I haven’t even started. Let me go change and grab my stuff.”
You watched Draco bound away to the boys common room, internally groaning. You loved Draco and he was brilliant, you and him were always fighting for the top spot in your class. But you constantly wondered how Draco ever got any work done. He was the most distracting study buddy you had ever had.
You hastily try to finish up the paragraph you are on before Draco comes back. A few minutes later, Draco comes back down, his matching silver blanket tied around his shoulders and a stack of books in his hands. The soft chatter of people around them were slowly dying down, as it was getting quite late. The grandfather clock near the fireplace reminded you that the deadline for your essay was coming up.
“I’m back.” crooned Draco, setting his books on the floor and laying himself on the lower half of your body, his arms wrapping around your legs.
“Draco.” You laugh, setting your things on the table beside you and pushing your hands through his silver hair. You rarely saw this side of Draco in public. Usually the two of you were cool and collected, the King and Queen of Slytherin. But seeing the fact that all who was left in the common room were a couple of third years trading chocolate frog cards and Crabbe and Goyle, Draco’s attitude was a different story.
“I missed you today.” Draco moved up and flipped the two of you so you were laying on top of him.
“Draco, we had breakfast together this morning. And I came and watched the first half of your Quidditch practice today.” You laugh at his puppy dog behavior.
“But practice was so long.” He wrapped his long arms tighter around you and brushed his cheek against yours.
“You are ridiculous.” You roll your eyes and sit up, sinking into the crevice between the couch and Draco, your legs trailing across his stomach and grab your book again.
The two of you sat in surprised silence and you managed to get through a page before looking up, wondering why Draco was so quiet. You soon saw why he was silent.
“For god’s sake Draco, are you pouting?”
“I’m not ridiculous.” Draco said in a petulant voice and you lean down and press a sweet kiss to his lips.
“Yes you are.” You turn back to your book. Draco was quiet again as you felt his large hand on your thigh, rubbing circles under your skirt.
“Draco.” You warn him, moving the book so Draco’s hand fell off your leg. “There are other people here.”
“Fine.” Draco sighed, dragging out the word.
“You know I never get any studying done with you.” You set your book back down and lay down on top of him again, tucking your arms under Draco’s warm body.
“Is that a compliment?” Draco asked, his hands coming up to play with your hair.
“Not at all.” You rest your chin on his chest to look at his face.
“I’m going to take it as a compliment.” Draco decided, bringing your face up to kiss you again.
“I really should be writing this essay.” You eyes traveled back to your abandoned book.
“No!” Draco’s arms ensnared around you like a vice.
“Fine, but you have to help me finish it during breakfast.” You say, secretly glad you didn’t have to leave Draco’s warm embrace.
