Angus still didn’t have a hard grasp on why Gregg seemed to adore his body so much, but he wouldn’t argue against the affection. He couldn’t think of anyone else who adored his over-endowed body as much as Gregg. That just made him feel all the luckier that Gregg was the one who he held in his arms. That Gregg was the one whose affections he was peppered in.
Angus had never been confident in himself. Even when he had been a slightly skinnier teenager in highschool. It wasn’t until he had moved out and started earning money himself that he’d discovered the glory that was food. Then his body had really started to get plumped up. Angus knew how most people felt about people his size, and it did manage to put him down in the dumps a lot. But Gregg thought differently. Angus had never been sure if Gregg truly felt that his large body was as exquisite as he proclaimed, or if he was just being nice.
And his body caused some back trouble, too. As had been previously put on display. All the consequence of letting himself indulge in the glory that was food. But if Gregg loved it, perhaps, and just perhaps, Angus could someday see what his beautiful boyfriend seemed to always see. He could only hope.
Angus snickers softly at Gregg’s proclamation of his favourite meat. Chicken always seemed to get his boyfriend going, and Angus was more than happy to prepare it for him. Seeing Gregg happy made Angus happy; simple as that.
“Alright. Works for, uh, me.” Angus chuckles gently, dishing out the chicken onto the plates. He always ended up with the bigger amount, but that wasn’t exactly a surprise. Angus was a big-eater, and being starved only made him crave even more food. His belly was a black hole sometimes. You could keep feeding and feeding it, but it would never be satisfied. Angus was a bit ashamed of that fact, but he just couldn’t resist food. He got a taste of it years ago, and he hadn’t looked back. All the fat that encompassed his frame now was his fault, and his alone.
But who could resist tender, delectable chicken!? Honestly!
Thinking about it just made him hungrier, and his stomach grumbled lowly in anticipation. Like a hungry predator sneaking up behind unsuspecting prey. Another growl in anticipation. No more waiting! Angus began towards the living room, plates in tow, while calling back to Gregg. “Come on then, this chicken isn’t gonna stay uh, nice and toasty forever!“
Gregg smiles softly as Angus accepts his offer and wags his tail again, watching the food get dished out and smirking at the portions, a slight pink tinge running over his face as often happened in the bear’s presence. “Aww yeah! Food time!” He purrs excitedly, letting out a gentle little snicker to go along with Angus’ own jubilant vocalization. “Guess I did sorta keep you waiting quite a while, huh, Cap’n?” The canid playfully teases, giving the bear’s side a gentle nudge as he moves towards the living room.
“Heh, it’ll cool down sure, but that stuff’d remain incredible for at least a couple days with your magic cooking skills having made them~” Gregg feels his smile stretch wider as he chases after the bear, immediately clinging to his side and salivating at how close the food was to being eaten. His favourite meat in one of his favourite preparations, in one of his favourite parts of their apartment, with his absolute favourite person in the world. Could he ask for a more perfect night?
He rushes over to the couch as they enter the room and waits impatiently at his usual seat, tail thrashing against the couch cushions on either side as he waits for Angus to get there beside him with the food. “C’mooon cap! Let’s eat and snuggle alreadyyyy!”
Angus gives a light chuckle, feeling slightly embarrassed. He gives a few hesitant, delicate pats to his noisy tummy, giving a soft little smile. “I suppose you, uh, did. But I don’t mind...!” Angus presses his lips softly against Gregg’s forehead. “Dinner’s not the same without you, uh, anyway. I don’t mind waiting, especially if it’s, uh, for you.” He pulls away, giving a soft smile. His heart fluttered in his chest. He was speaking nothing short of the truth. Without Gregg, things always felt so... lonely. Empty.
Gregg truly was Angus’ missing piece. They completed each other, and that was no secret. No matter the bigotry they faced, Angus would face it with his hand clasping Gregg’s. While those words stung, Gregg always made them easier to face. Gregg’s sweet nothings and the passionate affections he gave always kept Angus afloat against the little town that so despised them. Kept him from plummeting into the darkness that were the words they spat at him. And soon, hopefully, they’d be so far away from all those bigoted voices that Angus could even forget they ever existed.
All he needed was Gregg, and the adorable, lovable little dork he was.
Angus snickered softly at the compliment, unable the suppress the reddish tinge that fell upon his face. His smile grew wider, and his heart soared. If there was one thing that made him feel even better than cooking, it was people who enjoyed his cooking. And Gregg was the number one fan. The bear stepped over, closer to his boyfriend, planting another, firmer kiss on that cute nose of his. “I don’t know about, uh, any magic, but I’m glad you think so, bug. You know I always love cooking for you.” Another, gentler kiss on the head, before Angus began to depart towards the livingroom.
His body was growing impatient; especially with the aroma of chicken mere inches from his face. His nose being buffeted by the scent, and his mouth beginning to salivate. Another low grumble came from his tummy, and he gives a bit of a small, sheepish chuckle. His body sure was being vocal today! He hoped it wasn’t bothering Gregg too much.
Oh well, as soon as he ate some food, the rumbling would stop. And he only became more and more excited at the thought of a nice, warm cuddle session with his boyfriend. One hand holding slabs of deliciously cooked meat, and the other around his “adorkable” boyfriend. Tonight couldn’t get any better!
Angus lightly chuckles as Gregg darts away from him to the couch, making a slower trek after him. “Yeah, yeah, alright. Sorry, I’m uh, slower than you.” He keeps a light expression and tone, making his way over and plopping down next to his smaller companion. He places his plate down on the coffee table for a moment, before grabbing the remote and putting the TV on. He doubted there would be anything good on, but sometimes the background noise was... reassuring, in a way. So he left the TV on whatever channel it had popped to life with first, snatching his plate back into one of his hands and leaning back into the couch.
His other arm, in the meantime, snuck around his boyfriend’s smaller frame and gently rested on Gregg’s waist. He held him close to himself, while his other hand guided a chicken strip to his mouth. As soon as it was close enough, his maw took a big, rather ravenous, bite. He chewed the deliciousness for as long as the taste would linger, before swallowing down with a big gulp. He flinched a little, realizing how ravenous he probably appeared from the way he was eating. So, after a quick peck to Gregg’s forehead, he began to eat a little more calmly. His hand gently ran up and down Gregg’s side mindlessly, as he stared into the abyss that was the TV screen. Despite his eyes being dead-set on it, he wasn’t paying any attention to whatever it was blabbering about.
Instead, he was letting himself relax. Good food, an amazing boyfriend... this night was perfect. Angus felt calm. Tranquil, even. He gently pulled Gregg a little closer, letting their bodies snuggle up against one another. Gregg was warm. He always seemed to be. Angus couldn’t help but peer at Gregg every few seconds, just adoring his handsome boyfriend in silence. He was in pure and utter bliss, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He gently pecks Gregg’s ear, asking in a soft voice.
“So, uh, how are they?”
