A look of surprise flashes over the fox’s face. Cookies! Delicious, honest to god home-cooked cookies!

“Oh, my god, Cap’n, thank you!” He jumps up and presses a big kiss to his boyfriends cheek, hugging him tightly - and then plonking straight down to start wolfing those cookies down. His tail is wagging as fast as it can. This is a very happy fox.

Everything around Mae went silent, just staring back at Gregg and it’s like everything else around them didn’t exist. Just… A blur. She got in a little closer but that’s when Gregg grabbed her by the shoulder and snapped her out of it. He said… Something. But she didn’t catch it, Mae’s eyes flickered for a moment before her hearing and vision returned back from whatever that was.

“H-huh?” Mae stammered out as she shook her head for a moment before looking back into Gregg’s eyes. It started happening again, right as she heard her hearing start to sorta mute itself she diverted her eyes a little to the side. “I-I didn’t catch that…” Mae’s voice had gotten a little quiet, most likely out of embarassment or nervousness.

Gregg couldn’t help but feel a little bit nervous, looking back at her as Mae just seemed to... drift closer. The moment she snapped out she looked lost, a bit confused. As he went to repeat himself, their eyes met and he noticed that she seemed almost... gone again until her eyes darted away. The realisation of what’s going on here starts to dawn on him. It’s adorable, and terrifying, but how could he have not realised before...?

Naturally, this called for a small amount of teasing.

“Dude, are you okay? Feels like yer tryin’ to avoid my gaze!” The fox gives a soft smile and boops her nose with a finger. “Look, I know my eyes are too amazing to behold, but I’m gonna need ya to stay with me. Are you alright? Head feelin’ okay?”
