sometimes i see an out of context discourse post and im like "hm this really sounds like op is strawmanning a reasonable argument and making up a guy to be mad at." and then i check their blog for context and realise theyve spent the past 72 hours arguing with the human embodiments of the strawman. like damn nevermind im sorry for doubting you. you are fighting battles so cartoonishly evil i cant even fathom them as real. good luck out there.
i think the luckiest moment of my life - at least, the luckiest moment i'm aware of & can remember - was when i poured HOURS of wrist-grinding labor into nålbinding baby socks with no pattern & vague measurements pirated off a machine-made baby sock, and they turned out weirdly long and skinny. and then the baby was born with such weirdly long and skinny feet that the only socks that fit him were the ones i made. what a very specific little lottery to win.

if i was weird al i would do a version of "we didn't start the fire" that starts off like it's just another hackneyed modernization of the song, except once it hits the present day it just keeps going. so verse 1 is like "GEORGE BUSH / WORLD TRADE / WAR ON TERROR / GREEN DAY" but by verse 6 it's like "MARTIAN INVASION / ROBO-STALIN BACK AGAIN / NEO BRAZIL FROZEN OVER / PLUS THE MOON BLEW UP." you might think "but kit, wouldn't the song wind up being extremely long" but that's the brilliant part- the tempo still increases with every verse. the song ends when weird al passes out
My brother (17) and his friends like to play a game called “Manhunt” where several boys on foot are “hunted” by two boys in a car, whilst they share their phone locations on a timer. It’s basically a city-wide game of tag. My brother’s behavior made them add the rule that you cannot just sprint off straight into the woods (he’s a bow hunter and outdoorsman and they are city boys).
My parents consent to him playing this game. He called my mom while I was with her and said “hey if it’s cool I’m gonna have the boys over at the house to start a manhunt later” and my mom was like of course sweetie have fun.

This interaction always has me like OH NO WYLL.... but also like, he was helping the grove before anyone else, he deserves credit. I recall a "just run" line in there somewhere but forget who exactly it was, but I think Wyll would def tell the kids to leave fighting to the adults. (Like, it's not subtle. Ratigan is a self-hating rat who identifies as a mouse. His insistence on this point in spite of not being remotely mouse-passing is both a running gag and the motivation behind his most heinous acts of on-screen villainy. Basil pronounces "sewer rat" like it's a slur, and mocks Ratigan by calling him a stenchus rodentus, a piece of faux-Latin nonsense imitating the forms of Linnaean taxonomy, literally putting Ratigan in his place by locating him within a scientific hierarchy of races. Ratigan's downfall ultimately comes about not as a product of Basil's cleverness, but due to Ratigan's inability to restrain his own inherently savage nature. All of this is in the surface-level text of the film.)

I was surprised at how popular my latest DnD character got, so here's some info.
Galient: Warforged Paladin (Vengeance)
(yea I misspelled in the image; too lazy to fix it).
They/Them
Built in the early 15th century, they were built for war against colonists who settled on their long-gone ancient creators' lands.
Was killed in battle in the early 1800s by a musket shot (that's how they got a hole in their right eye).
Was found by scientists a century later, was experimented on, and accidentally brought back to life.
Through mishaps (rampage), ended up with the party. Initially just hated everyone due to their mission, but after learning that the warforges lost the war and are all probably dead, now feels alone and confused in the modern world and kinda follows the party out of uncertainty.
