Barnwood Vineyards and Winery was originally purchased by Selim Zilkha and his daughter Nadia who came into the wine industry by way of Laetitia Vineyards. Barnwood's vineyard sits at least three thousand two hundred feet above the valley floor below and offers not only a nice choice for wine gift baskets but also a nice price to quality ratio. As you might expect by being both the furthest east as well as at the highest elevationin Santa Barbara County wine, this is perhaps the warmest vineyard in the entire region. Fifteen thousand cases of wine are produced each and every year with a clear focus on Cabernet Sauvignon which makes Barnwood unique in Santa Barbara, but that's to be expected due to it's vineyard lcoation. Barnwood offers a rustic setting with a tasting room in a converted barn, we've always been impressed at their ability to not only control prices, but to keep prices in check with quality.

If you are considering a wine club membership for yourself this summer, it can be difficult to choose based on all the different clubs which are available. How do you make a value judgment about a wine clubs quality level, if you cannot possibly know something about all five thousand commercially operating wineries in the United States?

One easier path to take is to learn soemthing about the various wine growing regions around the world. As an example, a wine club shipping a good amount of wine from Burgundy may be either simply buying from their local importer, or they may be taking trips to France and selecting the best Chardonnay they can find. Did you know that virtually all white wine in Burgundy is Chardonnay? While that isn't a law in the same way which red wine is required to be Pinot Noir, but almost all wineries follow that historical practice.

Temecula as Aspect from the Finest Wines Round

The Hart Winery of Temecula was one of the first opened south of Santa Barbara, with land originally purchased by Joe and Nancy Hart in the early 1970's. A small five thousand case annual production is all that happens here, but the quality is significantly high enough to be a good choice for the best wine club and for any consumer interested in finding perhaps the most interesting winery in Temecula. Perhaps more than any other winery in the area, Hart represents a more traditional winery role than is seen at some others in Temecula. Instead of dramatically increasing production to provide wine for the millions of local Southern California residents who pass through the tasting room on a yearly basis, the winery has instead chosen to focus on keeping quality as high as possible. The results are splendid and have long made Hart winery worth the effort to find at your local wine store, or for a visit at some point in the future.

Acquiring Accurate Luxury in Lxury Gift Baskets

We are often asked, what are some wineries which should probably be included in your luxury gift baskets, but aren't yet there? One of the easiest examples of this type of outstanding winery is Solitude Wines from the Carneros AVA (which incidently, is one of the few AVA's to technically exist in both Sonoma County and Napa Valley). Opened by Richard Litsch who does a bit of everything at the winery including making the wine (read winemaker) and selling the wine (read Proprietor). He makes around two thousand cases of wine each and every year from this small, upscale winery. One of our favorite wines is his Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay which has varied from being his only production wine, to one of the few he produces. Not surprisingly given our tasting of other Pinot Noir's from that vineyard, he plans to feature a Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir at some point in the future.

Choosing wine gift baskets for a gift is often complicated before there are so many choices and so many stores offering them for sale. Everyone always wants a good or great deal. All one has to look to is the success of platforms and companies such as Groupon for confirmation, but how can you find value in the ultra exclusive Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon market?

To start, stay away from the big names which show up at your local grocery store. Those wines are made in such large quantities that in the opinion of this wine club they lose much of their character.

You should look to the cult Napa Cabernet Sauvignon wineries. Even though most of these wineries have waiting lists approaching ten years, their winemakers and assistant winemakers almost always have personal labels and other wineries at which they consult. These consulting wineries often have available wine which is 90% of the quality of the wines with dramatically long waiting lists.
