How many times have you attended the General Assembly? Isn’t fun? Exciting? Or BORING? Well... General Assembly is a way of every College Department to gather all the students to break the boundaries from every course and also a way to welcome all the freshmen students. But how would the students enjoy the General Assembly if the concept is too simple and not very entertaining?
An "out of the box" theme of College of Arts and Science come up with the 1st ever Mini "Carnival” General Assembly concept that happened at UPHSD Ernesto Crisostomo Palanca Hall Auditorium last July 22, 2016 at exact 2pm. The "Carnival" is unusual concept for the CAS Department compared to the General Assembly before and it is fresh to the eyes of students. According to Rica Dela Torre the President of student organization of College of Arts and Sciences, " since yung theme this semester is outside the box, so nag isip talaga kami ng kakaiba kasi yung General Assembly na usual puro sayaw, kanta yung mga audience wala silang participation kaya nagplano kami and nag come up sa Carnival theme". The Student officers were really challenged first before they came up with the strange explosive for General Assembly. She added " ang unique sa General Assembly yung mga students or audience lumilibot sila sa buong auditorium unlike sa past GA nakaupo lang sila. This time hindi siya nakakaboring kase may mga freebies kaming hinanda like free ice cream, popcorn, chips and may mga game booth kami sa gilid ng auditorium". The General Assembly was like a real Carnival because there was a student that participated and gave an effort to wear costumes. Some of them dressed like Minions, Super Mario, Fairy, Encantadia and etc. There was also a freebie in every side of auditorium where you can get a free ice cream, popcorn, chips and free games. Every college department prepared an intermission number to showcase their talents. From the AB Communication student Mr. Claud Candaza showcased his talent in magic, the selected Political Science students were sang and even the hosts dressed like magicians.
The out-of-the-way General Assembly witnessed by thousand student of CAS and this was one of the successful events of CAS. Rica stated that " successful siya kasi nung nagpaplano palang kame tinanong kami ni Dean San Miguel kung ilang student yung feeling namin na pupunta tapos kailangan naming ma reach yun, at that day nagulat kami kasi mas mataas pa siya kesa dun sa ineexpect namin na pupunta at the same time dumating dito ang Molino and Calamba CAS Council officer na first time ding nangyari". During the last interview she said the successful event gave her an overwhelmed feeling and according to her "nakakapagod, masaya, nakakaiyak kasi parang ang dami kong narealized na kulang pa yung ginagawa ko kasi start palang to, natatakot ako na baka hindi maging successful pero naging successful".
The College of Arts and Sciences General Assembly at the Carnival live a good remark to all students; this was the most fun and exciting General Assembly so far. This story is worth to share online because this will be serve as a good motivation for the future officers and even the in organizations to think a creative concept and think like there is no box rather than outside the box to expand more and stretch their capabilities.
“Huwag kang matakot mag isip, maging creative at palawin ang imahinasyon dahil yan ang magdadala sayo para sa tagumpay” – Rica Dela torre

Definitely not, because she is not a blogger or famous in social media. But, have you met a girl with a thick eyebrows on fleek even in ordinary days, a tall girl with shoulder lenght hair, with a killin' normcore fashion, with intimidating gaze where you can feel intimidated and awkwardness and with #asianface. Of course you've met this girl specially when you're from Las Piñas and Cavite because that look belongs to Arah and this is Arah Buayaban.
I grew up In Cavite but I'm a bisaya also. My mother, HeideBuayaban a 52 year old is from Masbate and my father,Rolito Buayaban a 54 year old from San Andres Quezon Province. We speak Bisaya and Tagalog at house so Luckily, I will never be sell in Visaya, amd I have 2 sisters Jhea buayaban (the oldest) Genelyn Buayaban (the middle) and I am the youngest.
From what school is she came from?
#ProudToBePublicSchool
I've been in public school from Primary to Secondary. Way back in Elementary days I studied at Bayan Luma I Elementary School (2009) and started to play badminton, softball, and volleyball when I was in 6th grade and I graduated with medals as an Athlete of the Year.
In High School, I studied at Imus national High School (2013) the huge school in Imus,Cavite with more than 10K students and graduated with honors.
But now, I transferred in one of the good University in South, its cheaper than any university but it has a good quality of education and I'm graduating AB Degree in Communication from University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in Las Piñas.
