Some of y'all haven’t felt extremely personally affected and attacked by Seventeen by Sharon Van Etten and it shows
Every day I'm angry about how Yellowjackets squandered Simone Abara's potential. They're giving Jeff Sadecki complex characterization and Simone showed up for two seconds last season just to talk to Van. Her beloved politician wife killed their dog and put his head on a basement crawlspace altar. She was never real to Tai, she was all Tai ever wanted, she stayed for years without hearing a word of what happened in the woods, she knew about Van, she left the second she thought their son was in danger. She was married to the mask of a woman desperately pretending it was her real face. She should be the main character of twelve million complicated couple horror movies and, I repeat, she showed up for two seconds last season. Racism kills good storytelling. ENOUGH.
when you have reached maturity (watched yellowjackets upwards of 5 times and can begin to recite lines with the episode) you will no longer find it in your heart to hate any of the main characters
sometimes i wish i had a person who has seen as many facets of me as the park by my house
watching videos of people first time reacting to yellowjackets just to feel something again
one of my friends is going through a breakup but i'm aroace so this is how i i feel anytime i try to give advice
did anyone else watch big bear by patrick macdonald and think about yellowjackets
thinking about how jackie never got to find out that shauna got into brown 💔
some people will reference brokeback mountain in a gay way, i reference it in an aoaoaoa way
i believe no one else has a plane routine as good as mine: watching yellowjackets and trying to get the takeoff and landing to match with the start and end of wolf alice's sky musings
the mountains stretch from the sky right down to the sea
how can that be?
like physically
who made up this weird rule of
romantic love being up here
and
literally every other type of love being down here??
there's only one thing i can assuredly claim to be the n.1 fan of and it's this podcast episode:
i know i'm truly at a low when i try writing poetry in my tumblr drafts
I finally put my finger on something that’s been cooking in the back of my mind for a while. That one moment where tai and van were talking shit about shauna and melissa saying like oh shauna makes melissa wear jackie’s clothes oh she makes mel call her shipman blah blah blah right well both those things are untrue. Shauna hates being called shipman and the only one wearing jackie’s clothes is shauna herself, she was actually vehemently against anyone else taking jackie’s clothes. The shipman thing is especially interesting when you consider that before jackie’s death she obviously didn’t mind it at all.
This made me think deeper about things and her character and what I had initially thought of as possessiveness for jackie and bloodlust caused by grief. It certainly seemed like a weird move to make her such a villain. But when i think about it more i find that it’s not just possessiveness, she is trying to become jackie. Or at least the version of jackie she has in her head, the evil jackie. That’s why she acts so cruel, exactly like hallucination jackie, which was behavior that notably started up full force right after that group hallucination. She is the one wearing jackie’s clothes, she takes up jackie’s role in her and melissa’s relationship, she marries jeff, she is trying to be jackie. Locked Tomb fans know what I’m talking abt when i say she has made herself a mausoleum for jackie taylor
i think it really goes back to the season one poster of jackie- the antler queen (shauna) in her eye, both a reflection and inside her, a part of her. In a way, the jackie antler queen theories were totally true. Jackie Taylor haunts the narrative and she also lives in it through its narrator
everyone say welcome back to taissa’s cunty pre-crash 90s looks
