on todays episode of convos btwn various characters who would despise each other we have...
temperance brennan (bones): can’t lie, won’t lie, facts > feelings, will not stop talking about ancient bone structure and crime scene particulates gregory house: hates everyone, addicted to vicodin and being right, will provoke a room full of people just to prove a point and ruin lunch shawn murphy: says what he thinks with no social filter, has saved 27 lives today and still got roasted by a nurse for not saying “please”
setting: forced to work together on a combined FBI–hospital–murder–medical mystery episode crossover extravaganza. tone: like locking three cats in a shoebox and shaking it.
house: “oh, fantastic. a forensic anthropologist with the bedside manner of an MRI machine.” brennan: “i don't understand why you're angry. i simply corrected your flawed diagnostic.” shawn: “i like bones. they're very organized.” house: “great. rain man with a scalpel.” shawn: “that’s not a kind thing to say.” brennan: “you’re both exhibiting emotional responses. it’s inefficient.” house: “i’m going to fake a seizure so i can go home.”
meanwhile, the patient’s spleen has exploded, a corpse is missing a femur, and cameron is crying in the hallway. none of them have noticed.
Iroh's problem with Ozai is not that Ozai played favorites, it's that Ozai's favorite was Azula and not Zuko.
Iroh really screwed over Zuko
A few days later:
The only person Iroh has to blame for Zuko thinking Ozai cared about Zuko is Iroh himself.
Zuko's Anger at Iroh
One thing which comes off about Zuko's relationship with Iroh in Book 1 is that Zuko has a ton of frustration with Iroh. Some of it is because Zuko is just like that, but I think some of it is because Zuko is aware, on some level, that Iroh has failed him and continues to fail him, that Iroh did nothing to protect Zuko against Ozai's abuse.
The thing is that in the long run Zuko's frustration with and anger at Iroh is depicted as a soley negative trait. Iroh is never held accountable for all the ways he failed hies nephew and instead Zuko is the one who ends up, without apology, letting go of it and begging for Iroh's forgiveness. Zuko ends up seeing Iroh as an ideal father figure.
It is very striking.
Gotta tell you guys something wild in the Chinese fan sphere
So some fanartist drew a “sexy” (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because it’s kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what they’re into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their “opponents’” accounts.
So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a children’s education charity via each side’s portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.
And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the “freedom of expression” side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)
From now on this is how all petty fandom disputes should be settled.
A woman not shaving or wearing a dress or wearing makeup or wearing femme clothes or having styled or long hair or caring how she looks or using a masc name or whatever else is actually a neutral thing and not a sign of her being depressed or giving up or being sad or whatever
In my new gacha game, you can now pull for scantily clad anime women who represent famous airplane crashes.
Danganronpa Shipping Headcanons #14:
Ship of the day: Masaru/Jataro
Masaru finds Jataro weird, but he will "destroy" anybody who picks on him.
Jataro really looks up to Masaru, but also thinks he is too good for him.
Masaru requests for Jataro to make a monument in his image, to which Jataro gladly agrees to.
Growing older is a difficult time for them, but they ultimately become each other's best friends and comfort in each other in their own ways.
Jataro likes to make things for Masaru, and even though most of them are eerie, Masaru thinks they are pretty cool.
Masaru isn't good with expressing his feelings in a healthy way, so he initially expressed his feelings for Jataro by shoving, pranking, or teasing him
One of my favorite things about Ultra Despair Girls is listening to the kid characters talk.
Like Jataro and Kotoko especially just ramble on and on about weird shit because their attention spans are still at this young age. Even Monaca just automatically gets bored with something if it fails to properly catch her attention. Nagisa doesn’t typically display this trait out of all of them because of his childhood and how he was pretty much raised by abusive parents to be an overachieving perfectionist to even get any scrap of worth or acceptance from them.
So many kid characters in anime are boring or there to be all cutesy. I really love that the Warriors of Hope are just… really gross and absent-minded. It’s not that they aren’t clever or anything, but their imaginations are at the age of just being on overdrive and so they go on tangents or lose interest and think of something better, cutting off their current thought processes…
Like Kotoko just has to tell everyone what her favorite food is and also what her least favorite food is and what she thinks about giraffes or eggs… and that’s just funny and cool of her. Hell, I love it even when the kiddy stuff covers up darker things like Masaru’s design of this standard shounen-esque kiddo with the little bandaids and scratches look is really hiding an outwardly and physically abused child.
It’s just really neat is all.
some people really do need to start reminding themselves that the answer to "why didn't the character just do [something entirely different]" is often simply "because then there wouldn't be a story"

you have permission to pick that 2 year old "abandoned" project back up. it's not mad at you for setting it aside. and maybe time and distance have helped ease or erase the things that made you put it down in the first place.
thank you sakura cardcaptor
