My parents taught me how to survive. Now I’m learning to live.
Adversity.
Turning nothing into something. It’s realizing you have everything you need to achieve your dreams and goals right in front of you.
Something new.
Today, I officially began my second attempt at my very own podcast show. I’ve started from scratch and I can’t wait to see where it goes. I have so much I want to share with the world!

Hello,
For quite a while, my mind has been plagued with what my first “personal” post should be about. You see, I’ve created this blog in the hopes of becoming a more open, honest, and transparent person. There are certain goals I hope to meet this year and creating a blog was one of them. Why did I choose tumblr you ask? Because it’s similiar to me, it got me through my years of high school. Now I am 26. Married. With one beautiful baby girl. Nothing shy of a true blessing. I love my life and everything that surrounds it. I love that I have not one, but two people to come home to. Somehow, I ended up with exactly what I used to dream of. I hope to connect and share my life with many strangers looking to improve their lives. I can’t tell you exactly how to live, but I will do my best to guide you in a more positive direction. My name is Jalil Ray and you can look at me as sort of a life mentor. Here to serve you with advice, love, and support to help you along your journey. I hope you decide to follow along with me and learn what it means to walk a mile in my shoes. One day I hope to touch many people, and help spread a word of love and positivity. In th mean time, thank you for your support.
Warmest Regards,
Jalil Ray
Grateful.
How often are you counting your blessings? Are you listing what you’re thankful for. Take a moment to understand that no matter your situation there will always be someone who wants what you have.
It’s 7am. You wake up to a distant cry for “momma” coming from a nervy monitor. Knowing it’s your day, you reach over to turn the monitor off. You make your way down the hallway to a door where the small voice is coming from. You take a deep breath, twist the door knob while putting on your biggest smile and open the door.
Me: Good morning baby girl!
Daughter: NOT you!
Me:
You must also, be a dad.

Being able to acknowledge a behavior or habit as toxic.

Remember.
Things aren’t happening to you. They are happening around you. We live in a world full of infinite experiences and opportunities meant to help us learn and grow.
I can’t.
Replace those words with, “This is hard, but I am trying my best.” Don’t limit your own potential. Read it again.
