Kelsey was placed into the German foster care system when she was an infant. Despite being adopted by Jeremiah and Clark when she was seven, her memories before that time are muddled. She instantly latched onto Max as her older brother, though he wasn't fond of her at first.

Kelsey knew German as a child, but has only retained a fraction of the vocabulary as a young adult.
