Pretty Green’s spring/summer psychedelia Good news: Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green label is back for another stellar season. Better news: we’ve got the exclusive on the campaign images. Shot in a traditional rock-roadtrip setting, the Pat Salter-designed spring/summer line is all about Sixties-inspired separates infused with that Britpop-cum-paisley print psychedelia we’ve come to expect from the brand. Taking inspiration from the Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour of 1967, the collection’s standout pieces include a brown bomber jacket (complete with a Fab Four-referencing Walrus on the chest) and a pastel star-collared T-shirt. Beady-eyed fans will also notice the new paisley print emblazoned on several shirts and scarves in the collection, which incorporates the Pretty Green logo right into the pattern. Now we just need the ride to go with it… From £35. Available from 4 February. prettygreen.com
If I Could Turn Back Time || Stag Night with Liam and Keith
"This ain’t necessary, ain’t it?" Keith asked, feeling uncharacteristically antsy, all too familiar with the extravagant his fellow band mate, Mick, threw, fearing that Liam had planned something similar.
His mind ran wild with thoughts of what could possibly be in store for him, but with Liam, one could never be too sure. Keith chuckled, remembering the time that the pair had woken up in each other’s arms, the night before only a blur.
Running his hands anxiously over his thighs, Keith stared outside the passenger’s side window in attempt to gauge where his friend was taking him. “We’ve been on the road forever,” he whined, the sun having gone down an eternity ago, various neon signs lighting their way as they drove down the busy street.
"Can y’ at least tell me where we’re goin’?"
It was by some miracle that Liam, being the notorious hothead he was, handled Keith and his novel restlessness so coolly. He planted himself comfortably beside his best friend in the passenger seat, his legs spread as if the leather seats were his throne, and peered out the window from behind his Lennon-resembling glasses. "'Course it is." He dismissed him, "Yer havin' a proper night with yer best mate whether y' like it or not, Richards. Won't be anythin' you won't like, either."
The chauffeur drove at a leisurely pace, as Liam had directed him to. For the better part of the ride the younger had replied to Keith and his increasingly unnerved questions with some semblance of calmness, but his prodding was starting to bring that signature sound of a heated Gallagher into his voice. He turned to him stiffly, eyeing him from behind his spectacles. "Yer actin' like were' gonna take ya an' kill ya or summat, Keithee. I can't be bothered with tha'- just sit back, relax. Y' ought to trust me by now, anyway."
A moment of silence passed before Liam answered him again, only with another question. "Yer bird doesn't get jealous right easy, does she?"
I looked over and saw Liam Gallagher for the first time. He looked amazing. A proper, Adidased-up mod. He had hair like a young Paul Weller. And I thought, ‘He’s got to be the drug dealer’. Because nobody in a band looks that good. I said to the promoter, ‘Why don’t you let them go on and play four songs?’ It was going to turn into a fight otherwise. They’d brought a proper little crew up. And when the good-looking drug dealer walked on stage and picked up the microphone, I thought, ‘OK, this is interesting now.’
Alan McGee telling how he signed Oasis (2013)
-pokes his shoulder a tad roughly-
*spins around, eyebrow cocked* Who-
Oh. ‘Ey, Marge.
Hide and seek, eh? -looks at Liam and then at Jr - sounds ‘bout right -Jr claps happily and crawls to a corner, he starts counting, more like yelling random numbers, Margot silently hides with Liam, holding back laughter -
*fixes himself beneath the table, trying to pick a more or less obvious place to hide*
*smiles slightly, watching as Junior continues to say numbers, occasionally repeating the same one a couple times, before beginning to crawl around the room and search for the two of them*
-pokes his shoulder a tad roughly-
*spins around, eyebrow cocked* Who-
Oh. ‘Ey, Marge.
-William Jr giggles and crawls towards him, hugging his legs in support as he gets up slowly -
-Margot glances at them and nods- sure -smiles at Jr - vat are ye guys playing?
Well first we were playin' the game where y' see 'ow many blocks y' can stack up without 'em fallin'. But now this one wants ta' play hide an' seek. *nods, as if this is the period to the end of his sentence, turning to Junior* I think 'e wants ta' look fer us.
(My) Ding-A-Ling || Liam & Keith doing wedding stuff
"I hate fuckin’ wearin’ goddamned monkey suits," Keith huffed, undoing the knot of his tie once again. Keith was getting married today, a joyous occasion to all that came as a surprise to a few. It was going to be a formal affair, much to his dismay, his reflection staring back at him donning a finely tailored tux, cementing that fact. Somewhere along buttoning the half a million buttons it took to make him look presentable, Keith regretted that Rachel only mentioned eloping as a joke.
"Stupid, fuckin’-" he groaned tossing the tie off to the side, using his, now free, hands to rake his fingers through his hair, a frustrated motion that mussed his perfectly combed hair. Brushing it to a presentable state had been quite a feat, Keith’s own mother voicing her displeasure as she did so with her "Why is it so long?" and "Did you really just wash it?” Keith would’ve like to thought that he heard a touch of fondness in her tone as she chastised him, but her close relationship with his fiancee made him think that she was actually angry at him.
With a ragged sigh, Keith dropped his hands to look longingly at the room around him, wondering if he should start to pace. No, he couldn’t. He couldn’t be nervous and he couldn’t let a measly piece of fabric to get in his way. He just couldn’t. Glaring at the sliver of fabric, Keith picked it up a with shaking, no, steady hand, clumsily, no, calmly, placing it around his neck once more.
"Haven’t y’ ever head o’ knockin’?" He tore his eyes from the mirror to meet a familiar azure gaze. It was a feeble comeback, his statement lacking whatever heat and finesse his usual comments directed at his best friend usually had.
Suits undoubtedly held their place on the lengthy list of things that Liam was unfamiliar with. His only real experience with them consisted of memories from his childhood, the kind where he was squeezed into a carefully pressed number and promptly taken to church. Obviously, both of these things-- the suits and his presence at church- held little to no influence on his adult life, for he rarely bothered himself with either one. Yet, here the twenty some year old stood, admiring his reflection as he adjusted his tie in preparation for something of a religious ceremony.
He wasn't sure what he was expecting from Keith. The man hardly seemed to bother himself with getting nervous or worked up over most things, but marriage was the kind of thing that defied that. Liam saw it firsthand countless times, and even he was wary of tying the knot with his significant other. In the event that Keith was a mess of nerves when he found him, Liam planned to take him out for the customary drink, maybe out somewhere where the two of them could joke like they did in days passed. The Mancunian hadn't considered what he would do if this plan didn't suffice, but couldn't be bothered to worry about it. He moseyed into the room and drank in what he could of the air of celebration.
From the doorway he traced over Keith in all of his soon-to-be-wedded glory, knowing that such a polished picture of his friend was seldom seen. After he entertained himself with his ornate appearance, Liam came to notice the apparent unease in his mutterings. Was he really clamming up?
"Y' cunt." The fondness in his voice was plain to see, as was the near brotherly smile touching the younger man's face. "Well y' still saw me, so what's the point, eh? I'm 'ere." He ambled into the room, nodding approvingly at Keith and sitting down. "That bird got ta' you, eh? Look at tha', never thought I'd see the day where Keithee looked so er, what they say-" He waved his hand, pursing his lips as he searched for the word, "So sharp, that's it."
-pokes his shoulder a tad roughly-
*spins around, eyebrow cocked* Who-
Oh. ‘Ey, Marge.
I didn’ mean nothin’ -looks at him from the hall- Just don’ keep ‘im awake so late -grumbles angrily and curses in russian, then she moves to the kitchen to do the dishes, still angry towards him-
It ain't late. *frowns at her, turning back to Junior with a far more loving gaze, setting him carefully on the ground* Crawl to da', Junior. Can y' make it over 'ere?
*plays with Junior for a short while, then grows antsy, picking the baby up and carrying him to the kitchen* Why don't y' come play with us, Marge?
-pokes his shoulder a tad roughly-
*spins around, eyebrow cocked* Who-
Oh. ‘Ey, Marge.
-the child giggles as his little palms touch his cheeks lightly- I’ve been behavin’ good, da’ -Margot looks at Liam- I bet ye haven’t noticed he learned how ta’ talk properly, mate -shakes her head and walks out of the room-
*looks at Junior with a downright smitten smile, kissing his nose* Atta boy, I knew y' would. Yer nan told me y' learned a lot of things while I was gone, eh?
*glances at Margot, puzzled, ready for an altercation* What d'you mean, then? 'e talks fine. 'e talks like a kid straight outta Burnage, 'e does.
I love you monkey man
thug life? more like hug life. come here
-pokes his shoulder a tad roughly-
*spins around, eyebrow cocked* Who-
Oh. ‘Ey, Marge.
-doesn’t answer at his question- Food, I feed ‘im vit fuckin’ food -the child lazily wakes up and smiles when he sees his dad- Da! -he jumps from the bed and hugs him, she looks at them with her arms folded against her chest-
Fuckin' feedin' 'im something off, then. Look at this little bugger, he ain't little anymore. *picks him up, giving Jr. a number of kisses all over his head* 'Ey, you been behavin'? *turns to Margot with a little grin* Must've been.
