Peeta finds the rain to be the most peaceful. The sound of it and the smell of it especially. As someone who sleeps with the window open, he learned young that the rain was like a lullaby. The tapping sound of raindrops hitting the roof and the windowsill and the sweet scent that filtered through would help him sleep at ease more than anything.
He’s never been a fan of the desert. The idea sort of puts him off. That there’s a stretch of unending land, flat with the horizon with little shelter and moreover, little water. It seems to Peeta like a dead land. He’s glad he lives near the mountains.
