I’m a fluff writer through and through, I can write smut but it takes me a while and it isn’t very good. I will write angst but it will need a happy ending!! I love writing about family dynamics and children! Give me all the crack fic ideas!!
Idk if this counts as crack fic or not but basically bc I’m pretty sure Summerhall has loads of cats due to rats, what if every time wife!reader took in another stray - Aerion would name it a dragon from history! So there’s just a whole bunch of cats in Summerhall named as dragons, granted he can’t ride them, but Aerion got his wish of having dragons (cats) in the end!! (Wife!reader loves this)
Cats
This is short but full of crack! I love the idea I did take some inspo from my own cats. Love you and thanks for the request 🥰
Ft a pic of one of my cats from 2020 at the bottom (you’ll see why) obviously out of character Aerion!
“What the fuck is that?” Maekar asks looking at the little beast sat on his chair in the dining hall. You and the children already sat waiting for him and Aerion. Daeron out at a tavern.
“A cat.” Egg answers helpfully, a smile on the boys face. Knowing what his father was actually asking but deciding to be difficult.
“I know it’s a cat what the fuck is it wearing?” Maekar demands, not paying attention to his second son as your husband enters.
“Caraxes there you are.” Aerion say walking over to the cat to pick it up. The cat purring the whole time, rubbing its face up against him. “You weren’t in your usual spot I was worried.”
“What the fuck.”
“Oh father, meet my dragon Caraxes.” Aerion say turning so his father can see that cat in all its glory. Fabric wings included. Maekar having been away for a few weeks visiting Baelor.
“Why is the cat wearing wings?” Maekar asks exasperatedly, just wanting one normal dinner for once. Baelor getting to have normal meals all the time, his children never dressing animals up in costumes or making potions.
“My wife made them.” Aerion reply’s with a smile, loving that you made them for him.
“Again, why is the cat wearing wings.”
“Well I tried them on Meleys and Vhagar but they just kept scratching me so I put them on Caraxes and she loves them.” He explains, knowing he probably should have tried Caraxes first as she’ll put up with anything. Daella once putting one of her doll’s dresses on the cat.
“You’ve broken my son.” Your father by law says looking at you. “He used to be normal.”
“Did he?” You and egg respond back both of you giving Maekar a look. You all knowing Aerion has always been odd.
“Well he used to be less obviously weird.”
-
“Do you know where Vermithor’s gone?” Aerion asks entering the solar, Caraxes following him. Still wearing her wings.
“He’s cuddling Rhae.” You respond knitting a new dragon snug as egg would like one, after finding Aerion’s. Noticing your husband turn around to leave. “Where are you going?”
“To collect my dragon.”
“Aerion no, he’s claimed her. Leave them be.” You say knowing the girl loves that cat, him loving her back as he’s been sneaking into her chambers every night to cuddle her.
“But he’s mine.” Aerion whines still not liking to share every though he’s a grown man.
“You have plenty of dragons she’s allowed one.” You say giving him a look.
“Fine.” He say admitting defeat as he sits next to you. Caraxes jumping into his lap wanting cuddles.
“What the fuck is wrong with my son.” Maekar mumbles to himself as he walks past the solar just having heard your conversation.
-
“Night my love.” Aerion says to you softly while you fall asleep in his arms.
“Night.” You mumble into his chest, seconds away from sleep when he continues talking.
“Night Caraxes, night Silverwing, night Vhagar, night Syrax, night Meleys, night Tessarion, night moondancer, night Sunfrye, night Morning.” He says saying goodnight to all the cats in your chambers, Vermithor with Rhae while seasmoke is sleeping in with Egg. Balarion sleeping beside Maekar’s head, the man denying it if it’s even brought up.
Imagine that when king viserys decides to allow his second daughter from aemma, targ!reader, to marry Gwayne Alicent does everything in her power to stop the wedding. Alicent tries to get her dad to stop it but lord ormund or whoever is more powerful than her dad in the Hightower family says nah bitch we gonna straighten our bonds to house Targaryen. She sends a servant to mess with the preparations like food and gowns but Rhaenyra and team black fix things and later tell reader about it. Even Daeron does his best to protect his muña and kepa from the hole he crawled out of. She even goes as far as trying to make it seem like our sweet future hubby has a mistress by letting a whore into the castle and into his room, but targ!reader know her man is to loyal for that shit. So on their wedding feast right before they go to “consummate” their marriage targ!reader whispers into alicents ear “excuse me your grace I’m about to go fuck your brother”. And of course all of team black has shot eating grins whenever alicent looks at them.
The wedding
This was fun, thank you for the request!
Content: references to sex and don’t think too hard about why/how Daeron calls you muña.
“Ahhh! Who the fuck are you and why are you in my chambers?!” Gwayne shouts in shock, having just entered his chambers with you following behind. Finding a naked woman on his bed, clearly trying to appear seductive. “Put clothes on and fuck off!”
“But you asked to see me again ser.” She says trying to walk over to him, your future husband hiding behind you. Knowing the woman didn’t have a weapon given, well, there’s no where to hide one. “You said I was your favourite.”
“Who the fuck are you?” Gwayne asks again voice going high, seemingly terrified.
“Leave.” You tell the whore, a smirk on your lips as you know exactly who’s behind this. “I assume you’ve already been paid?” You ask her, the woman clearly knowing this isn’t going as planned when she blushes before picking up her clothes and running out the room. “Give the queen my regards.”
“Who the fuck was that?” Gwayne asks, you noticing his eyes have been closed since he first saw the woman. Him finally opening them.
“Lady Mara, she’s friends with your sister.” You explain, kissing your knights cheek before sending for a servant to change the sheets. “Her husband is away on business.”
“You know I’d never-.”
“I know my love, your scream of terror only confirmed it.” You reassure, knowing this will have been his father and sisters idea. Them not liking you but your father and Gwayne’s cousin agreeing to the union.
-
“Muña!” Daeron shouts running down the corridor, holding his toy dragon. Gwayne having asked the boy to distract you after an issue came up. Him and daemon going to deal with it. “Can we play?”
“I’d love to darling but I have to go check on the food for tomorrow.” You say softly thinking he looks adorable, it almost being time for bed.
“Pleeeassse.” He begs, needing to stop you from going to the kitchen. The cake having been ruined. “You haven’t played with me in ages.”
“We played this morning.” You say giving him a look.
“Muña, please.” He asks, a small little pout on his face. “I’ve missed you.”
“Fine, come on my little prince.” You laugh picking your boy up. Knowing he’s lying but happy to be with him. “Shall we go cuddle and read more of our book?”
-
“Princess, it’s your dress.” Your maids say anxiously while they dress you for your wedding. Your dress having fit perfect two days ago when you tried it on, now struggling tie it.
“What’s happened now.” You say tiredly, just wanting something to go right. Your favourite jewellery having been ‘misplaced’ so you’re already stressing about that. Rhaenyra saying she’ll deal with it but it not making you any calmer, you knowing who’s behind it, your step mother hating that your marring Gwayne.
“It appears the seamstress have made a mistake.” Your servant says gently, feeling guilty for not being able to fix it. “The dress is too small.”
“That’s fine.” Rhaenyra says, having planned for this. Your sister having suspected that something would happen to your dress. “I hade a separate dress made with your measurements, it was meant to be a surprise for the reception but you can wear it all day.”
“Rhaenyra.” You say softly, not expecting your sister to let in her handmaid to enter carrying your dream dress. You having agreed to wear one that Alicent picked after your father suggested it.
“It’s the exact one you described wanting when we were young and talking with mother about weddings and our dream dresses.” She says soft smile on her face, knowing she made the right decision when you see it.
“Thank you.”
“I also thought you could wear mother’s favourite necklace as well.” She says taking it off her neck, knowing you need a piece of her with you today. Rhaenyra doing the same on her wedding day.
“But-.”
“She’d want you to wear it.” She interrupts, knowing how grateful you are.
-
“Today has been incredible, thank you.” You say to your husband, sister, Laenor, Laena and daemon. All having worked to make your day perfect. You having known that’s they’ve fixed everything that’s gone wrong. “Today couldn’t have happened without you all.”
-
“It’s almost time for the bedding are you excited?” Laenor asks with a laugh later on when it’s just the two of you. Gwayne speaking with your sister. While Laena and daemon dance.
“Oh shut up.” You laugh lightly hitting his shoulder. Him having walked in on your two dry humping in an abandoned room. It unknowingly being Laenors spot to meet men. “But I am exited.”
“Alicent is glaring at you.” Your brother by law says, offering you a glance. You having been ignoring the woman all day.
“She’s always glaring at me.” You say, smiling when you notice your husband walk over. Thinking he looks so handsome in his formal wear.
“Are you ready my love?” He asks, kissing your cheek. Desperate to get you alone, especially giving all the things you’d whispered into his ear while you danced.
“More than ready, but we better say goodbye to my father first.” You say, seeing your father sat next to a standing Alicent. The king speaking with Daemon.
“Of course.” He says, taking your hand in his while you walk over.
“Father, we’re going to retire for the night.” You tell the man, knowing he’d want to see you before you disappear.
“That’s smart my dear, it’s been a beautiful day, you look gorgeous in your mother’s jewellery.” He says, giving you a smile before going back to talking with Daemon.
“My queen, or should I say sister.” You say with a fake laugh, pulling the woman into a hug so you could whisper in her ear. “If you’ll excuse me your grace, I’m about to go fuck your brother.” You whisper, smirking when you pull away before taking your husband’s hand in yours. “Come along, my husband.”
Ormund is our husband but we love Gwayne. Oh no, your husband gets poisoned. How tragic. Wrote this a few days ago but saved to post for today as I’ve just come back from my aunts wedding and I’m a bit drunk
“Shhh it’s alright, we’re alright, this will all be over soon.” You whisper to Daeron and Alerie while you hide in the wardrobe, your husband on another one of his rampages. You just waiting for Gwayne to appear to look after the children so you can be the object of Ormund’s rage instead of them.
“I’m scared.” Daeron whispers holding his knees to his chest. Hoping this will all end soon.
“I know you are sweetheart, I am too, but it will be over soon.” You whisper back, carefully listening out for the door. Praying it’s Gwayne who finds you and not your husband. You scared about what he’ll do to the children, him angry after Daeron was seen cuddling his dragon. Ormund hating all things Targaryen, dragons especially. Him thinking then an insult to the gods. “We might be able to visit my mother soon, would you like that?”
“A lot.” Daeron whispers back, Alerie just nodding in agreement while she sucks her thumb. Self soothing, Daeron doing the same by hugging himself. All of you stilling when you hear the chamber doors open, you letting out a sigh of relief when you hear the voice.
“It’s just me.” Gwayne says, smiling sadly at you all as you climb out of your hiding place. Alerie running into her uncles arms. Her adoring Gwayne as much as she loves Daeron, if not more. “Hello darling, do you want to go down to the stables for a while?”
“Please.” She says rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand. Refuses to let go of her uncle.
“What about mother?” Daeron asks, worried about leaving you to Ormund’s wrath.
“I’ll be fine, I just need to speak with your sire.” You attempt to reassure, knowing Daeron worries about you. You not wanting him to have to worry anymore.
-
“Lord Husband.” You say entering his solar, carefully. Knowing any sudden movements could set him off even more. “You called for me?”
“You! It’s your fault! The boy is soft! He’s broken and spending to much time with that fucking dragon!” He rants, deciding to blame you for everything he doesn’t like. Throwing a glass in your direction, luckily not hitting you as you move out the way quickly enough. “You had one job! Give me a son! Instead you give me a slow daughter! And you! Dear wife, are a fucking manipulative bitch!”
“What have I done husband?” You ask numbly, opening and pouring him some wine that was gifted by a lower house, as an apology for causing unrest in the reach. Or at least that’s what he thinks.
“Give me my fucking wine.” He says snatching the glass from your hands, unaware you were planning on giving it to him anyway. “Get out, I don’t have a use for you, your cunt isn’t even good anymore.”
“Of course my lord, whatever you wish.” You say nodding at his guards while you leave. Him only summoning you to shout.
-
“My lady! Come quick!” A servant shouts running down the hallway to catch up to you. You mentally planing what to dress Alerie in for the upcoming events.
“What’s going on?” You ask, tuning quickly to face the servant. “Are the children alright?”
“The children are fine.” She reassures before braking the new. “It’s your lord husband my lady, he’s dead.”
“What?” You ask gasping and covering your mouth with your hand. “How?”
“Poison my lady, it was in the wine. The maester had tried all he can but..”
“Oh gods.” You say dramatically leaning into the wall in shock. Everything going according to plan.
-
“Are you alright my lady?” The maester asks, checking on you after you see your husbands body. Guards not letting you leave their sight, the children in the nursery.
“I’m just.” You pause for dramatic effect. “In shock, I almost drank that wine. What if one of the children-” you cut yourself off with a fake sob.
“My lady breath you and the children are alive, that’s what matters.” The maester reassurances knowing that Ormund sometimes lets Daeron have some of the wine if he’s done something the man liked.
“But my husband.” You say, looking at the corpse, grateful he’s clearly dead. “Oh gods.”
-
“My condolences my lady. My condolences.” Is all you hear after the news of your husband death has been announced. The house responsible being punished by the crown. Gwayne having been named heir after your daughter was born, Ormund not wanting his uncle to have more power. Unknowing giving you more the moment he did it.
-
“Lord Hightower.” You say stood in the doorway watching Gwayne stand in the very solar your husband died in only a few weeks before hand.
“Please don’t call me that.” He say smiling at you while you enter, door closing behind you. “How are you?”
“Brilliant.” You say wrapping your arms around his shoulders smile on your face. It having been he best day. Daeron being allowed to spent time with Tessarion and Alerie playing in the gardens for the first time without fear. “We’re free.”
“I’ve been asked what I’m going to do with you and Alerie.” He says arms moving to your waist. Knowing you had something to do with is cousins death but not mentioning it. You and the children meaning more to his than his cousin ever had.
“What are you going to do?” You ask, wanting Gwayne to make his own decisions.
“Marry you.” He says simply, having wanted to marry you from the moment you met. “I’ll say it’s to keep you and her in the only place she’s ever known but..”
“I know.” You say, resting your forehead against his.“I love you.”

if you see me liking contradicting headcanons for the same character just know it's because I do not give a fuck and I have an active imagination #hewouldsaythat
Could we get a fic where Gwayne and his wife save Helaena and the twins. She gets to the castle before blood and cheese do and begs Helaena to leave with her. They each carry a twin on the ride back plus their respective dragon. She convinces rhaenyra to marry her younger kids to the twins to keep them safe (visenya lives). Helaena swears her loyalty to rhaenyra so now team black have more dragons. (Luke and Jace live too please)
Extra points if when she was sneaking in Targ!reader saw or heard Cole and Alicent sleeping together ( why it was so easy to get into the castle). So she can gossip about it when she gets back to dragon stone. Please I will never ask for anything again!!!!!❤️❤️❤️
The rescue
But what if I want you to ask me stuff?? 🧐
Saw this and immediately started writing so here’s a present for bedtime so not really proofread 🩵
“Shh.” Gwayne whispers to you even though you weren’t making any noise. The man ignoring the look you give him in response. His sword in hand while he checks to see that you’ve not been seen. You two having to get past Alicent’s chambers to get to Helaena’s and the nursery. “I can hear something.”
“We need to be quick.” You whisper back, not caring if you have to kill a few people to get your precious Helaena and her children out unharmed.
“Fine, let’s go.” He whispers grabbing your hand to sneak past the door that noises are coming from.
“Holy shit.” You whisper recognising the voices.“That’s Cole. With Alicent.”
“What?” Gwayne whisper hisses, not wanting to believe you.
“Listen.”
“Fuck no.” He whispers grabbing your hand to drag you along. “I thought we have to be quick.”
-
“Helaena.” You say quietly to the sleeping girl. You knowing she’s a grown woman now, but she will always be the little girl who would bet to play in the gardens with you in your mind. “darling it’s me.”
“Sister.” She asks in confusion slowly waking, before looking at you in shock when she realises you’re actually there. “Why are you here?”
“I’m here to get you and the twins.” You say gently, brushing some of her hair out of her face.
“Really?”
“Really, it’s not safe for you here.” You confirm, wishing she’d never been dragged into this stupid war.
“Where are we to go?” She asks anxiously, playing with her fingers.
“I’ll tell you when we’re safe but we need to get the children.”
“Ok.” She says agreeing surprisingly quickly, getting out of bed to give you a hug. “I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you too darling.” You reply kissing the side of her head before passing her some slippers and leading her out of the room.
“Uncle gwayne.” She says excitedly, having missed her uncle who always listened when she spoke.
“Hello sweetheart, let’s get you and the children out safe then we can hug.” He says softly, wanting to cuddle the girl but knowing you don’t have long.
“They’re this way.”
-
“I’ll carry Jaehaera.” Helaena says picking up her sleeping daughter softly. Her loving her son but treasuring her daughter. The girl begins so much like her already.
“I’ve got Jaehaerys.” You say to Gwayne who’s keeping watch. Holding the sleeping boy close to you, making sure to pick up the little toy dragon he was sleeping with. “Is it clear?”
“Clear, let’s go.” He says softly ushering you and Helaena out. Telling you both to keep close while you make your way out. All going well when you reach Alicent apartments, you worrying Helaena might want her mother to join. Luckily she doesn’t, just wanting her children out and safe. You all hearing moans coming from behind the door. Gwayne looking traumatised when he hurries you both along.
-
“Where are we going?” Helaena asks stood next to dreamfrye and Stormfrye. Your dragons having missed each other. Luckily dreamfrye was known to take herself flying so her leaving wasn’t unusual.
“Dragonstone.” You say carefully, knowing she’ll be scared.
“No!” She protests, having heard repeatedly that if Rhaenyra even sees her children she’ll have them sentenced to death. “She’ll kill my babies.”
“No she won’t Helaena.” You say firmly, knowing you would never let anything happen to the children. Even if Rhaenyra went back on her words, you praying she never would. “I promise you.”
“Uncle Gwayne?”
“The children will be safe, we’ve made a deal with her to keep you and the children safe.” Gwayne reassures, mentally viewing Helaena as one of his children. “We won’t let any harm come to them we promise.”
“Ok.”
-
“Helaena.” Rhaenyra greets, smiling at the young woman, her holding her daughter close to her while Gwayne holds her son. “They must be the twins.”
“You won’t hurt them will you?” She asks, fear in her voice as she looks between the queen and Jaehraerys. “Even the boy?”
“No, I won’t hurt them.” Rhaenyra tells her youngest sister softly. “But I do offer you a deal.” She continues, knowing she wouldn’t let any harm come to the children anyway. “When they’re older your daughter marries my son Joffrey.”
“How old is he?”
“He’s not much older than the twins.” You reassure the girl, understanding her fears.
“What of the boy?”
“I have a daughter, Visenya.” Rhaenyra replies a sad smile in her face as she thinks of the daughter she can’t be with. “She’s a newborn but when she’s grown he shall wed her.”
“Ok.” Helaena agrees after looking at you and Gwayne for guidance.
“Good.” Rhaenyra smiles. “In the meantime you may join our sister and your uncle to the vale to live there while the war continues.”
“The vale?” She asks confused, not expecting you to go there.
“We’re going there with all the children to keep them safe.” Gwayne says, knowing it’s going to be a bit of a full house. But happy about it.
“And I get to go with you?” She asks, making sure she’s not a captive for Rhaenyra.
“You do.”
-
Bonus
“Nyra.” You call running over to her and Daemon as the two talk in the hallway. You having just put the children to bed. Helaena in your chambers talking to Gwayne and Daeron.
“Why do you look so smug?” She asks giving you a suspicious look. Recognising it from when you were children and you were up to something.
“Guess what Gwayne and I walked past on our way to get Helaena.” You say practically jumping on the spot in excitement, finding the whole with funny. Gwayne not finding it anywhere near as amusing.
“How am I meant to know? Is it something that will help in the war?” She asks, looking at you in intrigue.
“Alicent was fucking Cristian Cole!” You blurt out, knowing she’ll be shocked. Especially after all the grief she gave Rhaenyra for doing the same thing when she was young and drunk.
“Ha!” Daemon shouts out with a cackle finding the new hilarious.
Au where Aegon was named heir when he was born and the dance doesn’t happen.
Just a cute little thruple fic. You’re Rhaenyra’s daughter but no description of what you look like.
Someone wasn’t happy with my treatment of team green so here’s happy Helaena and not evil Aegon with a side of Daemon x Rhaenyra x Alicent
“I can’t believe he’s mother’s favourite.” Aegon whines storming into Helaena’s chambers, your shared wife sat on the floor with her insects while you embroider Aegon’s new doublet. Not able to move as much given how far along you are in your pregnancy. “He’s such a prat.”
“What are you complaining about now?” You ask not looking away from the dragon you were making, placing it next to the bug Helaena did. You husbands favourite hobby obviously being complaining.
“Aemond, being mother’s favourite child.” Your husband complains, having just had to watch his mother praise the one eyed twat.
“He’s not her favourite.” You tell him, confused about how he reached that conclusion given all the evidence proving otherwise.
“He’s not?” He asks excitedly thinking that means he must be.
“He’s not.” You confirm, setting aside your embroidery. Knowing you won’t be able to focus on it now. “Her favourite is Helaena.”
“What?”
“Her favourite child is Helaena and her favourite son is Daeron.” You say in an obvious tone. Not understanding how he didn’t already know.
“But.” Aegon pauses for moment in pure shock at the reveal. “He doesn’t even live here!”
“That’s probably why.” Helaena adds from her spot on the floor.
“Unbelievable.” He scoffs flopping onto the sofa with you, resting his head in your lap. The large baby bump taking up most of the room kicking periodically. “Ow, the babe just kicked me in the face.”
“We told you to stop lying there.” Helaena tells him with a laugh, him having done the exact thing yesterday.
“This world is out to get me.”
“That’s nice dear.” You say playing with his hair while Helena goes back to her insects.
-
“Do you think the babe’s will like each other?” Helaena whispers into the night while you two cuddle in bed. You finding out she’s also pregnant a few weeks ago. Your wife not wanting to talk about the pregnancy in public as she wants it to be just the three of yours secret for as long as possible.
“They’ll love each other.” You reassure, giving her a quick kiss. Her hand on your bump liking to feel when the babe kicks.
“Move over I want to be in the middle.” Aegon say, wandering into your chambers slightly drunk. Him having been with his friends drinking before he noticed the time and realised you and Helaena will be sleeping soon.
“It was your turn last night, it’s mine tonight.” You say, not wanting to move from the middle. Also knowing Helaena wants to cuddle you tonight not your husband, Aegon moving a lot in his sleep.
“But I’m the king.” He whines just wanting cuddles from both his girls.
“In name only.” Helaena says snuggling into your side, grateful her baby bumb isn’t that big yet so she can lie closer. “Our wife is the actual one in charge.”
“You’re not meant to say that bit my love.” You laugh , knowing your wife doesn’t exactly have a filter. Her also just liking to annoy the king.
“Why not? Everyone knows it’s actually you who rules.” She says to you, half asleep.
“Is it bully Aegon day today or something?” He complains while removing his clothes haphazardly before climbing into bed.
“Isn’t that every day?” You tease, loving these soft moments with your husband and wife.
“At least my children love me.” He says kissing your stomach before doing the same to Helaena’s hand knowing she doesn’t like her stomach being touched.
“We love you, you’re just very annoying.” Helaena says not even trying to hide her sleepy smile.
“I am not.” He objects, offended look on his face. “I’m a delight!”
-
“Do we have to?” Aegon whines from the bed not wanting to attend the family dinner. Both your families going to be there including his grandsire and brother.
“Yes.” You glaring at your favourite shoes as they’re now too small. Your feet having swollen with the pregnancy. You having to wear your night slippers everywhere as they’re the only things that fit and are comfortable. “I want to see my mother.”
“That’s fine I just don’t understand why everyone has to be there.” He complains knowing that Aemond will annoy him.
“Alicent wants everyone together.” You reiterate for what feels like the hundredth time. Knowing your husband isn’t complaining because of your family, him getting on surprisingly well with Luke.
“See that’s what I don’t get, mother doesn’t like Rhaenyra.”
“Yes she does.” Helaena says placing her caterpillar back in its enclosure. Knowing she should find her own shoes before dinner.
“Hel’s, no she doesn’t.” Aegon denies, thinking Helaena’s just confused.
“Oh my gods.” You mumble to yourself at your moron of a husband. “She loves her.”
“What?”
“Why do you think she was so happy when she found out my mother and daemon broke up with lady Misyra?”
“Because they weren’t married so it was a sin.”
“Aegon.” You sigh looking at your very dumb but beautiful husband.
“Mother is very religious!”
“You’re very dumb.” Helaena states hand resting on her small bump.
You’re Rhaenyra’s daughter who got married off to Aemond before the war. Gwayne is your Harwin! Wrote the majority of this two weeks ago.

“It will all work out in the end my love.” You whisper to your crying daughter as you try and settle the babe. Already planning on what to do, your husband making himself prince regent after Aegon got burnt. It not being safe for you and Viserra in kingslanding anymore, if it ever was. “Muña will never let anything happen to you.”
“Princess? The prince regant wants you in the throne room.” A servant girl says giving you a pitiful look, knowing your husband is angry about something.
“Of course.” You respond with a forced smile, knowing it’s not the servants fault. “Ser Gwayne, may you watch my daughter?” You ask the man who only returned from the battle of rooks rest the night before. Him being your sworn protector before Cole and Aemond sent him away to fight. “I shouldn’t be long.”
“Of course princess.” He says taking the crying babe of you. Him giving you a look of worry. Dreading what Aemond could want you for.
-
“You summoned me husband?” You say curtsying when you see your husband sat on your mother’s rightful throne.
“Your bitch of a mother appears to have acquired more dragons.” He says accusatory, not true you don’t have anything to do with this. “Did you know of this?”
“How would I know?” You ask truthfully, him forbidding anyone from letting you contact anyone. You only finding out Luke dies because Alicent told you. “I have not had contact with anyone in my family since my grandsires death.”
“Then why have I heard rumours of you sending letters?” He asks as if catching you out on a lie. Him forbidding you from writing anyone.
“I sent a letter to ser Gwayne before the battle at rooksrest if that’s what you mean.” You say, him being the only one you’ve been allowed to write to. It only containing how you and your daughter were doing along with wishing he comes home safe.
“Why?”
“He’s your uncle and my sworn protector.” You responded, still not happy he got send away from you to fight in a war that should never have started. “I sent him some healing balm for the soldiers to help with any injuries.” You explain, knowing that if he somehow found the letter that’s all he’d see. “Your mother read it before I sent it, I just wished them luck and said I’d be praying for everyone’s safe return.”
“Did you pray for me?” He asks, needing any form of validation.
“Of course I did my prince.” You say not mentioning you were praying for his death, being disappointed at the news your husband was alive and well. “You are my husband.” You say factually, just wanting you leave and go back to your daughter. “May I be excused? Viserra has been fussy lately and will only sleep in my arms.”
“Wait.”
-
“Are you alright.” Gwayne whispers to you when you re enter the nursery, Visarra sleeping against his chest. Him sat leaning back on the big chair the you and the nursemaids use. Feeling guilty he can’t stop his nephew from treating you the way he does. “Do you need anything?”
“A hug.” You say moving to sit next to him, needing comfort. Him wrapping an arm around you and kissing your forehead. “Did it take her long to settle?”
“No, she fell asleep instantly.” He says looking down at the sleeping ginger girl a smile on his face, her looking like the perfect mix between Hightower and Targaryen. Her having your eyes and his hair. Or as everyone else was concerned the girl having her grandmothers hair. “She’s perfect.”
“She really is.”
-
“3 bells.” Gwayne says under his breath when he kneels next to you in the sept. You pretending to pray knowing you need an alibi while the wine gets delivered to your husband from a loyal Lord. Aegon getting the same delivery.
-
“Shhh, good girl.” You whisper, hiding your girls face in your shoulder while Gwayne checks you have everything you need. You both leaving any moment. You feeling incredibly guilty you can’t bring Helaena and her daughter with you. “Can you be quiet for me?”
“Are you ready?” Gwayne asks quietly, pack on his back and sword at his waist.
“Are you?” You ask, knowing he’s also risking everything.
“As I’ll ever be.” He says checking your door is locked before opening the secret passage that should lead you into the dragon Pitt. Stormfrye waiting.
-
“Sister?” Jace shouts in confusion from atop Vermax, your mother next to him on Syrax. You not knowing the three other men on dragons with them. You quickly climbing of stormfrye, Rhaenyra doing the same with Syrax. Her having missed you so much.
“Mother!” You shout not caring you’re being watched by multiple people you don’t even know. To relieved at seeing your mother for the first time in moons. Gwayne taking Viserra from your arms so you could run into your mother’s. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“Oh my sweet girl.” Rhaenyra cries pulling you closer into her arms, not fully believing she’s got you back. “How did you escape?”
“Ser Gwayne.” You explain, looking over at the man you love who’s holding your daughter.
“My queen.” He says walking closer before kneeling in front of your mother, holding Viserra close to his chest while he does so. “I pledge my loyalty to you.”
“Why?” Rhaenyra asks happy your home and safe but not trusting your knight. “The usurper is your nephew, is he not?”
“He is.” Gwayne confirms. “But I vowed myself to keep your daughter safe and she’s not safe there anymore.”
“Rise.” Your mother commands, her noticing the care you clearly feel for the man so letting him be. For now. “You will be watched.”
“I expect nothing less your grace.”
-
“I’m so happy you’re home.” Rhaenyra says sat at dinner with you later that evening. Your chambers being exactly the same as how you left them before the wedding.
“I’m happy to be home.” You say smiling at her. You sat next to your mother with Viserra sat in your lap while Gwayne sits next to Jace and Baela. You halfway through explaining all you know about the greens plans when Viserra starts crying.
“She probably just needs a rest, a servant-.”
“No.” You say quickly interrupting your mother when she gestures for a servant, not trusting anyone with your daughter. “I’m sorry I just.”
“I can take her.” Gwayne says knowing you need some time with your family. Him being the only person other than yourself that you trust your daughter with. “I’ve already eaten and you know that I won’t let her out of my sight.”
“Thank you.” You say a grateful look on your face.
“Shhh, my little princess there’s no need for all this noise.” Gwayne says softly to the little ginger girl as he takes her from you, resting her on his hip. “Let’s go have a nap and I can tell you a story.”
“He’s good with her.” Rhaenyra says once he left, raising an eyebrow at you, him reminding her of Harwin and the way he was with you.
“He’s her true father, isn’t he?” Jace, your elder twin by 10 minutes asks, giving you a look. Knowing you and recognising the way you look at the knight, your mother having given the same one to Ser Harwin when you were young.
“I have no clue what you’re talking about Jacaerys.” You say smirking while you take a sip of wine. You confirming your brother’s suspicions when you wink. “But I will say I’m my mother’s daughter.”
“Is he good to you?” Rhaenyra asks, just wanting you to have happiness. Hating the fact she allowed the marriage between you and Aemond, her thinking it was for the best at the time.
“He’s incredible, the best man I’ve met.” You say reassuring her that it wasn’t all bad when you were away.
“Rude.” Jace interjects smiling at Baela when she gives him a light tap at his attitude.
“Bar my brothers.” You then add giving your brother a look, thinking his and Baela look brilliant together. Knowing she’ll make an excellent queen, her clearly knowing how to deal with Jace.
“When Aemond is dead you have my permission to marry him.” Your mother announces, thinking you should be allowed to marry for love.
“Really?” You ask shocked not expecting your mother to allow it. Thinking you’d have to marry him in secret at a later date.
“Really.” She says taking your hand in hers and giving it a light squeeze.
“Thank you muña.” You say gratefully, squeezing your mothers hand he response. “And it shouldn’t be long.”
“What?” Jace asks you confused. You just smiling at your brother when a guard runs in.
“I’m sorry for interrupting my queen.” He says slightly out of breath from running. “Prince Aemond and Aegon are dead.”
Half request half me and I was writing this when a request came through with the same concept. You’re Rhaenyra’s daughter but no description of what you look like apart from you’re female.

“Does he ever shut up?” You ask Ser Gwayne Hightower, you having been taken hostage by them after the battle of rooks rest. You getting thrown of stormfrye by your dick of an uncle, Aemond trying to get Vaegar to eat you like he did your brother. Criston Cole not having shut up about how much he hates your mother and in turn you for your mothers ‘whoring’ aka she turned him down. “He’s giving me a headache.”
“You shut up before I take your tongue!” Criston Cole threatens knife to your throat while you sit leaning back in the chair you had been thrown onto.
“Is he always this annoying?” You ask Gwayne casually, not looking at the man holding the knife to you. Only focusing on the auburn haired man.
“Yes.” Ser Gwayne responds tightly, not agreeing with the way the hand of the king was behaving. You maybe the daughter of the enemy but you are still a woman and princess, you should be treated with respect.
“My condolences.” You say dryly, not caring if you get killed. You having come to terms with your death the moment you fell from your dragon.
“You little bitch, just wait till the men get their -.”
“My lord hand.” Gwayne interrupts, hating how unhonourable the man and his army are. They are knights, they should act like it. “We shouldn’t treat a woman as such.”
“Ser Gwayne as you seen so fond of our hostage you can be in charge of the whore then.” Cole snaps furiously before storming out of his own tent. Drama queen.
“I apologise for him calling you a whore princess.” Ser Gwayne says, hating the man who just left.
“He’s just bitter.” You say rolling your eyes, a part of you wishing the man had killed you. It being a kinder fate than living in the unknown. “Is it true?”
“What true?” Gwayne asks, unsure of what you could of heard given you haven’t spoken to anyone since getting captured. Not knowing you get mean when scared.
“That he’s been fucking your sister? If so it could explain the attitude.” You say crudely, looking the handsome knight up and down while he places his hand on his sword in anger. “Oh, jealous?”
“Don’t speak of the queen dowager in such a manner.” He snaps before taking a breath and releasing his grip on the sword. “Now tell me what you know.”
“Well I heard that they were fucking when her grandchild got murdered.”
“On your mother’s order.” He counters raising an eyebrow at you. Knowing you’re trying to get a rise out of him.
“My mother never gave that order, she would never want to hurt a child.” Especially after what happened to Visenya and Luke, you think. “Even after what your family did to mine.”
“What has my family done exactly?” He asks leaning against the table infront of you, wanting to hear your justifications.
“Where to start?” You ask rhetorically, giving a fake thinking face. “How about how your father has been plotting from the start to get his blood on the throne, or should I start with how your sister and father have been terrorising me and my family since before I was born?” You ask voice raising slightly as you continue, fury enveloping you while you remember your childhood. “How about the time your father spanked me during a counsel meeting for ‘misbehaver’ as the king was to weak to. Or when your sister made my mother walk through the keep moments after giving birth to torture her? Or even the time your supposed king tried to fuck me when I was crying after my father died! Take your pick.” You snap hating that you can feel tears building behind your eyes.
“King Aegon didn’t take your virtue.” Gwayne denies, not wanting to believe his nephew could be like that.
“You’re right he didn’t.” You reply with a fake smile, not understanding why you’re telling the man things you hadn’t told anyone before. Thinking maybe you just wanted someone to know before you die. “But not because of honor or any bullshit like that, he stopped because I kneed him in the dick and ran off. Is that truly who you want to rule?”
He doesn’t say anything in response just walks out, before telling the guards not to do anything until he returns.
-
“Eat.” Gwayne says offering you some food, you unaware it’s his. Cole refusing to waste food on a prisoner. You having been moved to Gwayne’s tent, you having been left to him.
“No.” You say crossing your arms over your chest, trying to keep a sense of power. Even if it’s just by refusing food. Your stomach betraying you when it grumbles.
“Please eat, I went through a lot of trouble to get you this.” He says placing the food down infront of you.
“Fine.” You say reluctantly, taking a bite of the bread.
-
“There’s a guard waiting outside so you can’t escape.” He says later that night, leaving you in his tent. “I’m going to find somewhere else to sleep.”
“Can you stay?” You whisper reluctantly, hating the fact you have to ask. But feeling safer in his presence.
“Why?” He asks thinking you would love a moment alone.
“I’m scared.” You admit, hating that amount of fear you have.
“Of what?” He thinks, knowing he’s put his most trusted soldiers outside the tent.
“I’m in an enemy camp full of men, you tell me.” You snap, knowing given the chance a lot of them men would take it.
“Fine.” He says making a small camp on the floor near the tent entrance.
-
“He’s such a dick.” You mumble sat next to Gwayne on a log while Cole gets himself a second bowl of food. Him having refused to let you eat again so you’re sharing with Gwayne. You having been prisoner for a fortnight. A very long fortnight.
“I know.”
“You’re not meant to agree with me.” You reply trying to hide your smile, hating that he can make you laugh. “He’s your ‘Lord hand.” You say making fun of Cole’s new position. Him nowhere near qualified. “But I suppose that’s what breaking your vows gets you.”
“Can we please not talk of my sister? I don’t like being reminded of it.” He says knowing what you’re insinuating, a deadpan look on his face. You unaware that’s what he looks like when trying not to laugh.
“I really don’t see the appeal of him.” You muse watching the insufferable man eat.
“Like I said, please stop.”
“I’m not just talking of your sister I’m talking in general.” You say thinking of your mother. “He’s good looking but the moment he opens his mouth I just want to bash his head in with a hammer.”
“I’m not responding to that.” He says taking a drink so you can’t see his smile.
-
“Ser Gwayne?” You whisper in the middle of the night, you shaking from the cold despite Gwayne letting you sleep in his cloak along with a blanket.
“Yes?” He asks, already awake. Unable to sleep due to the cold.
“It’s cold.” You state, not wanting to be the one to ask.
“What do you expect me to do about that princess?” He ask, smiling up at the ceiling, knowing exactly what your going to ask. You having been sat incredibly close to him earlier trying to steal his warmth.
“Can you lay next to me?” You ask reluctantly, knowing he won’t until you ask.
“Pardon?”
“It’s helps with warmth, sharing a bed.” You say factually, also just wanting the reassurance of someone next to you. “We don’t have to cuddle.”
“I’m only doing this because I’m also cold and I’d like my bed back.” He say lying, quickly getting up and slipping into the cot next to you.
-
“Stop squirming.” He complains trying to sleep.
“I can’t get comfortable.” You complain moving so your back is to him.
“Just.” He sighs before pulling you close and into his arms. Legs wrapping with yours keeping you still.“Come here.”
-
“How much longer do you think I have?” You ask a few nights later when cuddled up in bed together. His shirt and breaches hung up to dry after all the rain today, your dress beside it. Leaving you in just your shift and him his small cloth.
“What do you mean?” He ask, looking down at you while you rest your head on his chest. Pretending you’re cold.
“Until I die, how much longer do you think I have left to live?” You ask, wanting his honest opinion.
“You’re not going to die.” He says, not waiting thing about it. As that would mean he’d have to admit his feelings for you.
“Yes I will, I’m only being kept alive so Aemond can kill me himself.” You whisper as if saying it louder will make it happen sooner.
“No you’re not.”
“Gwayne.” You say looking up at him, seeing the pained look on his face. “I’m going to die, I’m at peace with it. I just hope my family will be ok.”
“You’re not going to die.” He says firmly, not willing to accept it.
“You know I’ve always wondered who I would marry if things had gone differently.” You muse, resting your head back on his hard chest. Savering the moment together.
“What?”
“I used to speak of it with Baela when we were little.” You say a reminiscing smile on your face. “This was before we found out her and Jace were betrothed, we’d speak of our dream wedding and husband’s.” You explain, thinking back to when you and your best friend/step sister would cuddle up in bed for a sleepover and talk. “Looking back she was just describing Jace, but I just wanted the perfect knight. Kind, honourable, a protector, a true knight not the fake kind who want the power for all the wrong reasons.”
“You put a lot of thought into it.” He says, wishing he could be that knight. “What of the wedding.”
“A pretty dress, I never minded if it was a Valyrian wedding or one before the seven or even the old gods of the north. All I wanted was the perfect knight while I wore a pretty dress.” You explain smiling now picturing Gwayne when you think of you make believe wedding. “What of you?”
“I’m a Man I don’t have an opinion on weddings.”
“Humour me.” You say drawing shapes on his chest.
“I wanted a wife who could make me laugh and be happy, I wanted love.” He admits, never having spoken about it before. “I’ve never wanted someone who blindly follows everything I say, I want my wife to have her own opinions.” He says simply. “As for the wedding it would be before the seven, I’d be in my best clothes and she could be wearing anything and I’d still think her the most beautiful woman in the realm.”
“I hope you get that one day.” You say quietly, wishing it could be you but knowing the fates won’t allow it.
“I hope you get your perfect knight.” He says kissing the top of your head. “You deserve a happily ever after.”
“Can I kiss you?” You ask, wanting one night of pretending he can be yours. “You can say no, it’s just I’ve never kissed anyone before and I’d like to know what it’s like.”
“What of your knight?” He asks desperate to kiss you but not wanting to push you.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get the chance to marry him.”
“Are you sure?”
“Kiss me Gwayne.” At your command he finally closes the gap and kisses you softly. His lips barely grazing yours before you pull him closer. Wanting a proper kiss not just a peck. Him happily complying, letting you straddle his hips as you deepen the kiss. You both lazy kissing for a while before you start grinding against him, waning more.
“Princess we shouldn’t.” He whispers against you, biting his lip to silence his moans while you move against him. Your lips not leaving his while you do so. “We’re not married.”
“In the sight of the Farther.” You whisper into him ear kissing just below it. “ The Smith.” You continue kissing down his throat. “The Warrior.” You say now at his chest, him just looking at you with an unreadable expression on his face. “Mother.” You kiss over his heart at that. “Maiden.” You continue kissing down him. “Crone and Stranger.” You say looking up at him, kissing just above his small cloth. Kissing just above before pulling them down, biting your lip at the sight of him hard cock, his hips bucking against you. “I am his, and he is mine from this day until the end of my days.”
“Come here.”
“Gwayne-.” You gasp not expecting him to pull you up and flip you so he’s now on top.
“Farther, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger. I am her’s, and she is mine, from this day until the end of my days.” He says quickly, looking at you with awe and adoration in his eyes. Trying to commit this moment to memory. “I don’t currently have my cloak.”
“Your cock will do.” You giggle, gasping when his hands slide between your thigh’s fingers running through your wetness. “Fuck, Gwayne.”
“Shh my wife.” He teases, bringing his fingers up to his mouth to taste you, closing his eyes momentarily, craving more of you. “We must be quiet for we don’t want a public bedding do we?”
“I need you.” You whine, desperate for him, needing him even more after he calls you his wife. “Please husband.”
“You have me, take this off.” He responds tugging at your shift. “Fuck you’re beautiful.” He whispers talking in your naked form, him biting his lip at the sight not sure where to begin.
“Fuck Gwayne.” You whimper when he finally decides what to do first, his lips finding your breasts. Hand squeezing and pinching at the one his lips aren’t paying attention to. “Fuck.”
“Good girl.” He groans against you, sucking and nipping at your nipple while you pull his hair. Not knowing what to do with your hands. “You’re so good for me.”
“Gwayne please fuck me.” You whine, despite for more bucking your hips up at him. Despite for friction.
“Let me eat you first.” He says kissing down you, nipping at bits of skin while he does so.
“What?”
“Let me eat your pussy, please my love.” He practically begs, face now inbetwen your thighs. Him licking his lips at the sight of your dripping lips. “Shes so desperate for me.”
“I,uh, yes.” You pant out not expecting that request. You quickly covering your mouth with your hand when you feel his tongue run through you, his moan sending vibrations through you. “Fuck.”
“You taste so good princess.” He says against you, tongue playing at your entrance while his nose knocks your pearl. “I could spent eternity down here.”
“Please.” You say grinding up at him needing more.
“Oh my needy princess.” He coos taking one last lick before moving his mouth to your pearl and pressing a finger into you. “Shhh be quiet, remember?”
“Gwayne.” You moan, hand going back to cover your mouth. Knowing you need to be quiet but the pleasure making it difficult. “I, fuck.” He just keeps sucking and drawing shapes in your pearl in response, a second finger entering you before a third quickly follows. Him groaning against you when you pull his hair, the pleasure to overwhelming you don’t know what to do. “Fuck, I think, I’m, fuck.”
“Cum for me wife.” He commands, keeping the exact same pace when your orgasm hits, him only pulling away when he can tell it’s getting a bit to much for you. “Good girl.”
“Gwayne I need you to fuck me.” You say pulling him back up to you, him smiling in response. His lower face wet with you. “Now.”
“Are you sure?” He checks, knowing oral is different and wanting you to be 100% sure in your decision.
“I’m sure, fuck me husband.” You demand wrapping your legs around his waist. To get your point across. “Please.”
“As you wish.” He smirks, giving you a kiss. You not caring you can taste yourself on him, to desperate for him.
“This will hurt a bit, but I’ll go slow.” He reassures hand going between you both so he can guide his hard and dripping cock along your entrance, tip nudging your pearl a few times before he pushes into you. Making you both moan at the feeling, him silencing you both with a kiss. “Good girl, almost there.”
“Fuck.” You whimper against him, feeling him stretch you, his cock reaching parts you didn’t know was possible. Whining when he bottoms out, feeling completely full of him.
“Are you ready for me to move?” He whispers, waiting for your consent before continuing. Him knowing if you told him to stop he’d do so immediately.
“Move, fuck me Gwayne please.” You beg trying to move your hips against his but him just following your movements.
“As my wife desires.” He says pulling out over halfway before thrusting back into you, you both gasping at the feeling. “You feel so good.” He whispers thrusting in and out trying to find a pace you both like when his hand finds your pearl and his thumb starts rubbing it.
“Gwayne.” You moan, him finding the perfect rhythm, you never having felt anything like it. Him hitting deep inside of you with every thrust, your not knowing pleasure like this possible. Him consuming you.
“I know baby I know.” He groans into you, feeling his orgasm grow closer but trying to fight it. Him wanting to cum at the same time as you.
“I’m close again.” You pant, feeling the familiar feeling creep up in you again. Feeling overwhelmed with all the sensations.
“Already? You are needy for me.” He teases knowing you’re close by the way you clench around him, bringing him closer and closer to the edge. Him not having had a release in weeks but trying his best to last for you. “Where do you want me to cum?”
“In me, please Gwayne fill me with you.” You beg, cuming around him, triggering his own orgasm him fucking you through the aftershocks. “Fuck!”
“Shhh.” He laughs tiredly not pulling out yet, wanting to say as close to you as possible. You just nuzzling into him when he moves you both to your sides. “I’ve got you.”
-
“Run away with me.” He says to you the next day, him having planed everything out this morning.
“What?”
“You heard me.” He says, your bags already packed with all the supplies you’ll need. Him knowing all the weaknesses in camp and already knowing when to leave.
“Gwayne-.”
“I know the consequences but we’re almost at Haranhall and I can’t bare to think of what could happen.” He interrupts, “So run away with me.”
“Yes.”
“Really?” He asks worried, you were going to say no.
“Really.” You confirm kissing him.
-
Bonus
“Do you have a whistle?” You ask a few days later, having disappeared in the middle of the night. Right after he asked you. You both now far away having covered your tracks and at the top of a mountain.
“What? Yes, but why do you want it.” He asks confused.
“Silverwing has been flying through here.”
“How do you know?”
“I just do.” You say using the whistle in the set pattern you taught your dragon years ago on the off chance you got separated.
“What the-.”
“Silverwing!” You shout excitedly as your dragon flys over, landing close so you could cuddle her. Her having missed you. Refusing to return back to dragonstone without you, waiting for your call. “I’ve missed you so much girl.”
You and Gwayne come up with an idea to keep Daeron safe, you just hope your sister believes you. Targ!reader but not connected to my other fics as the dance doesn’t happen in them.
I wrote the majority of this over a week ago so ginger Daeron is canon in this, and of course you voted for the fic I was most unsure about posting☠️
“What are you thinking about?” Gwayne asks wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his head in your shoulder. You looking out into the gardens where Daeron is sat reading cuddled up with the dragons. The girls playing next to him while Baelor is sleeping in the nursery.
“What to do next.” You muse leaning into him. Wishing that this stupid war hadn’t started in the first place.
“How so?” Your husband asks kissing your shoulder.
“I want to stand with my sister.” You say, knowing she’d do the same for you. But not willing to risk your son’s life. “But Daeron will be a risk to her claim so I don’t know what she’ll do with him.”
“What of Aegon?” Gwayne suggests half heartedly, not liking his nephew’s. Him thinking them both the furthest thing from how prince’s should behave.
“You know as well as I he will be a cruel king, especially with Aemond by his side.”
“So we need to think of something that will keep all the children safe.” He says, voicing your thoughts. Also wanting to find a way Daeron will be safe from all possible harm.
“I have an idea, a terrible idea but an idea nonetheless.” You say turning around to face him, wrapping your arms around his neck. His still on your waist.
“What is it?” He asks up for any suggestion. The children meaning the word to him.
“We claim he’s ours.” You say quietly, not wanting to risk anyone possibly overhear your idea.
“What?”
“We say that the real reason he was send to ward was because I had him out of wedlock and Alicent and my father covered it up.” You elaborate, it being an incredibly risky idea.
“Everyone would think you a whore.” Gwayne rebuttals thinking it a good idea otherwise.
“They think that anyway.” You quip with a sad smile, your husband’s incredibly religious family having never liked you. “It would keep him safe.”
“We could ask your sister to legitimise him as our son.” He suggests, continuing on knowing you won’t change your mind.
“We can claim he’s is mine alone.” You offer, not wanting to affect Gwayne’s reputation.
“My love, I say this with all the love and care in the world.” He says with a smile, brushing some of your hair out of your face. “That boy is the spiting image of a Hightower, even removing the hair.”
“He does look like you and Alicent.” You admit reluctantly, normally loving how much Daeron looks like Gwayne. Now finding it inconvenient.
“Exactly, so I’m going to be necessary for this scheme.” He says, thinking of the next steps of your plan. “How are we going to get anyone to believe it?”
“I was sick.” You say in shock, remembering that you kept coming down with the flu that year. The maesters unable to find the reason, it clearing up not long after Daeron’s birth.
“What?”
“When Alicent was with child I was sick a lot.” You say in excitement never more grateful about being sick. “I was hardly seen in court and I was confined to my chambers.”
“You’re a genius.” Gwayne say softly, pulling you into a kiss.
“I’m only a genius if this works.”
-
“Come on Kepa is riding with Daeron on Tessarion.” You say to the girls one you reach the dragon pitts. You all having to sneak away in the night so Ormund can’t stop you. “You’re with me.”
“But I want to ride Skrykos!” Rosie pouts, not understanding why you’re leaving. Let alone in the middle of the night and have to be quiet about it.
“She’s coming with us but we need to leave quickly.” You say, adjusting the baby carrier you’re wearing. You youngest child sleeping against you.
“Why?”
“We just do sweetheart.” Gwayne says checking you’ve got everything. Helping Rosie and Lily onto your dragon. “We’ll explain once we’re there.”
“I’m sorry.” Daeron whispers to you while you give him a once over to check he’s alright.
“What are you sorry for sweetheart?” You ask, knowing he hasn’t done anything to warrant giving an apology.
“It’s my fault we have to leave.”
“We would have to anyway as I’m Rhaenyra’s sister.” You reassure him, cupping his face in your hands as you give him a forehead kiss. “Now just follow me and fly close, your father will pretend he’s not terrified but he hates flying so you’re in charge.”
“Ok muña.” He says a soft smile on his face. Grateful that you and Gwayne chose to raise him. Him aware Ormund was supposed to.
“I love you.” You say firmly, needing him to know.
“I love you too.” He responds pulling you into a hug, carful not to squish his brother, before going over to his dragon.
“Come on Rosie, lily hold tight.” You say to your girls before you take flight.
-
“Why are you here?” Daemon demands watching you and your family climb of your dragons. Rhaenyra and Jace stood behind him. Jace having grown so much since you last saw him.
“I’m here to speak to my sister.” You say stepping forward, ignoring Gwayne’s look of worry when you pass him your young son.
“You mean the queen.” Daemon corrects, not trusting you as you’re now a Hightower.
“I mean my sister the queen.” You clarify know how your uncle is.
“Sister.” Rhaenyra pushing past daemon, ignoring his look. You both meeting in the middle of your family’s. Gwayne stood infront of the children wary about the whole thing, having passed Baelor to Daeron.
“Rhaenyra.” You say softly, having missed your best friend and sister. Before remembering yourself and curtsying to her. “I mean your grace.”
“What are you doing here?” She asks softly, having been worried you would betray her.
“With the Hightower as well.” Daemon interjects glaring at your husband, Gwayne just rolls his eyes at the dig.
“I’m here with my husband and our children for asylum.” You say ignoring daemon and giving all your attention to your sister.
“What of the Hightower prince? Daeron isn’t it?” Daemon interjects once again, clearly desperate to be included in the conversation.
“That’s what I want to discuss, in private preferably.” You say giving your uncle a look before looking back at your queen. “Please.”
“Come.” She say wanting you to follow her back to the castle. “Jace can take your family to the throne room while we talk.”
“Rhaenyra.” Daemon hisses not trusting you.
“You have my protection, for the time being.” Rhaenyra says ignoring her husband.
“Thank you.”
“Come, we shall speak.” She says taking your hand to lead you away. Gwayne greeting Jace with respect. Daemon following you after threatening your husband.
-
“I have a confession.” You announce, once the doors shut behind you. Hoping this is the right decision. Allowing your anxiety to show on your face as you know it will help you.
“What is it?” Rhaenyra asks, scared you somehow had something to do with her being usurped.
“Daeron isn’t father’s son.” You say blurt out, not looking at your sister while you say it.
“So Alicent had a bastard.” Daemon laughs flopping into a chair after pouring himself some wine. “How has the boy got a dragon?”
“He’s my son.” You ‘admit’ playing with your wedding ring in discomfort. Praying they believe you.
“What?” Rhaenyra asks in confusion, never thinking that would be your confession.
“You remember that I was sick and had to be isolated in my chambers when Alicent was with child? That’s because she wasn’t, I was.” You explain, taking the wine your sister offers you before she sits downs in shock.
“Why does he look like Hightower then?” Daemon asks, the most untrusting of the two.
“Because Gwayne is his true father.” You responded giving him a look as though it’s obvious. “Do you remember that tourney? The one that was for Jace’s nameday that Gwayne competed in?”
“Why didn’t you marry?” Rhaenyra asks, unsure of why you didn’t drink moontea or marry to cover it up.
“He wanted to, he kept apologising for ‘stealing’ my virtue.” You say with a slight laugh, actually quoting your husband. Him having kissed you before your betrothal and then feeling guilty for it. “But father was trying to marry me off to the Lannister’s and Gwayne had to leave back to old town the next day. I didn’t know I was with child until it was too late, so father made Alicent pretend he’s was hers.” You explain, looking at the floor as if in regret. “And well, you know the rest.”
“Why are you telling me this now?” Rhaenyra asks, believing you. Having known how much you’ve cared for the boy since his birth. This being the best explanation for it as you never cared much for Alicent’s other sons, Helaena being different.
“Because it’s the best way to keep him safe.” You say, actually telling the truth. The realm viewing him as your son instead of your father’s would make him a lot safer. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”
“How do we know you’re telling the truth?” Daemon asks, believing you. Him knowing he’d to the same for his children.
“You don’t.”
-
“Muña!” Lily shouts running over to you when you enter the throne room after Rhaenyra and daemon. Her agreeing to declare Daeron as your true born son. You picking up your youngest daughter and giving Gwayne a nod, letting him know everything has gone to plan. “Baelor bit me!”
“Oh no, that not good.” You say knowing your girl is being dramatic as he doesn’t have teeth yet. “How was it with your cousin?”
“Fine.” She says resting her head on your shoulder. “He talk with Kepa for ages.”
“Is it true?” Jace asks his mother, having been informed by Gwayne what you’ll of been talking about.
“Is what true?” Rhaenyra asks, looking at your family with a smile on her face. Wishing she had gotten to spend more time together with you before all this started.
“About Daeron?” Jace clarifies, not sure what to think but having a feeling it’s the truth. Why else would you go through all this trouble?
“That he’s my sisters true son? Yes he is.” Rhaenyra confirms, noticing the confused look on your eldest’s face.
“What?” Daeron asks looking between you and Gwayne. “What is she talking about?”
“We’ll explain everything later darling I promise.” You say gently, knowing you’ll have to lie. Your boy being too kind and soft for deceit knowing he deserves better.
“You have pledged your loyalty to me, so you may go to the Vale.” Rhaenyra declares, knowing Jeyne Arryn will allow it given your dragons. “You’ll be safe there, on the condition you look after my sons and when I ask you fly back and fight for me.”
“As long as it’s just me, we have a deal.” You say not letting your son partake in war.
“Deal, I’ll write you a letter to give to lady Jeyne. She’ll accept you.”
“Thank you Rhaenyra, truly.” You say to you sister wanting to give her a hug. Her notacing your hesitation and makes the first move, pulling you into her arms and holding you tight. “I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you too.” She whispers back, having missed you more than anything. “Thank you for trusting me.”
