MK vs KK As an individual who has purchased both the Michael Kors signature scent perfume and the Kim Kardashian Pink bottled Perfume, I came across an overlap in smell! As Kors signature ingredient happens to be Jasmine, the main ingredient in Kim's is also Jasmine. Was this a coincidence or a preference?!

Andreja the Great. 

The beautifully talented Serbian fashion model Andreja Pejic who has modelled for both men's clothing and women's clothing changed her gender on Facebook (thanks to Facebook introducing many gender options other than male and female as of this year) to transgender this thursday.

She posted a selfie along with this message "I think we all evolve as we get older and that's normal but I like to think that my recent transition hasn't made me into a different individual. Same person. no difference at all just a different sex I hope you all can understand that

I would also like to to reach out to all young gender non-conforming youth out there: I know it’s hard, I’ve been there, but remember it’s your right to be accepted as what you identify with—you deserve the same respect as any other human being on this planet. As a transgender woman I hope to show that after transition (a life-saving process) one can be happy and successful in their new chapter without having to alienate their past."

What a great message Andreja! This sends an inspiring message to all those who don't think they deserve the same respect as any other individual- because they do and you do.

kontroversial Klum Whose ready for another season of project runway!? I know I am! Can we just talk about this promotional photograph for a moment, what is youre opinion on it? last season’s promotional photo was full of controvesy because nudity was the dominating factor of the ad- it was actually banned from LA billboards!!

Well I hope your monday is as kontroversial as Klum is in this ad- just kidding, maybe just a little! Happy Monday :)

 I know I know, its only July...BUT that didn't stop the trends of the Fall from invading the Summer. So I thought to myself, should I keep these gorgeous trends to myself, or should I share them? The first thought was tempting, but as you can see where this is going -I chose the latter!

Here are a few things to look for when you are going through the sale racks, or the promotions or even the new collection lines for Fall clothing:

1. 60s Mods

- every season has a signature decade and this year A-line shifts (which should already be in your closet for the summer - speaking to versatility), knee- high leather boots and sophisticated polos are being brought back into style for the Fall!

2. Fairy Tales come true

This trend focuses on those large staple pieces such as Fur hoods- think little Red Riding Hood (Faux fur) and fur scarves!

3. Designer Normcore

- this one has a select audience as it can be seen as a rather boring look- but it's not, it has gone high-fashion!

This would include anything from tailored trouser suits in the classic black, navy and grey shades to soft wool jumpers.

4. And of course we can't forget- I have already touched on this on my blog but I can never repeat enough - Sporty- yet Stylish attire.

Well there you go- there are a few trends to look at to add to your fabulous closet!!

Vancouver takes over the U.S 

Okay, well Vancouver isn't really taking over the U.S but the wonderful online retail based start-up company called Wantering has purchased the fashion networking site called StyledOn. Woohoo Congrats Wantering! 

Wantering is superb because they include about 120 different online merchants to "find items or brands" of interest BUT mainly does so by being aware of the fashion trends on social media platforms such as the lovely tumblr and pinterest feeds!

#fashfest

Comsopolitan is hosting the UK's first ever, you guessed it, #fashfest as of September 2014!

This is a BIG deal because #fashfest is usually only held in Canberra, the capital of Australia. For those of you unfamiliar to what #fashfest is, it is a five day event in which five fashion events occur. The main focus is to showcase trends that will be in season but that are also practical for consumers to wear (rather than just look gorgeous and desirable)! #fashfest was founded by directors Clint and Andrea Hutchinson - husband and wife duo, how cute!

Hopefully #fashfest will continue to expand and will one day be held closer to you- but for now those the ozzies and the british have a wonderful fashion advantage (for the rest of us we can always look online at #fashfest.com.au for cool outfit ideas!)

Coco avec Kendall

Little K, not so little anymore, is living every single girls dream. She has modelled for Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and now Chanel! Although Kendall is doing such an amazing job, many people are attributing her success to her family's over all success and saying that she has had a collective advantage because of this. Personally- K has talent, I mean Karl Lagerfeld would not put just ANYONE on his runway just because of personal ties or fashion influence, they need to be able to walk the walk. What do you think?!

Rihanna Replaced 

It's hard not to love our stunning, edgy and rebellious singer however sometimes her revealing choices of attire are too...risky, even for the French. Looking back to December, Rihanna was named the face of Balmain and would appear modelling in their 2014 spring/summer campaign, however this is no longer the case.

Poor RihRih! - was it her outfit at the 2014 CDFA Awards that changed Olivier Rousteing's mind, or her Rebellious badgal attitude? 

For the upcoming campain models such as our sexy angel Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn will be taking the front seat as Olivier explains the campaign will feature "different girls" with "different backgrounds"

As much as we love Rihanna's risk taking side, maybe playing it safe wouldn't have got her rear-ended.

Coco for Cardio

Coco Chanel would be proud to know that her vision in creating simple yet sporty attire still exists- her "successor" Karl Lagerfeld re-popularized the sporty-stylish trend on the runway of fall 2014.

Chanel introduced practicality in a time period where women were still highly influenced by the victorian era and thus designers such as Paul Poiret dominated fashion with "hobble skirts" (they are beautiful skirts- they really are!- but they contain a narrow hem which impede a woman's stride). Chanel's style did not catch on until a time of hardship, world war II, in which women had to work to support the war as their men protected the home front - because her designs were practical and easy to move around in, Chanel's style flourished and has been in demand ever since!

Karl Lagerfeld has kept Chanel's vision alive as he has intertwined fashion with athletic wear and reality (we all have those days where we go to the grocery store usually in lulu lemons and hoodies). This look has caught on in the fashion world as more designers have chose to incorporate the merger of active-wear and ready-to-wear clothing that still looks stylish into their lines. 

This trend has high-jumped its way to the top of designers' to do lists! Nike has paired up with Givenchy (March 2014), Adidas worked with many celebrities and designers, and Tory Burch is in the process of creating a sporty yet stylish line. 

The BIGGEST instalment of sporty yet stylish clothing that is recently being introduced is based on Net- A -Sporter, an addition to Net-A Porter that is now going to focus on everything active. One of the fashion publicists who contributed to N.A.S, Robyn Berkley (she recently launched her line in Barneys in February) sees current active wear as "outdated" and is in desperate need of an update- the active wear lines, approximately 16 of them, will be revealed on July 9, 2014 on Net-A-Sporter so for all you tech-addicts, make sure you have wi-fi!

It's that time of year again- rain jackets, boots and umbrellas away, bikinis, flip flops and crop tops are here to save the day!
