( & devorantem )
raw exhilaration blossoms within the demons veins; racing through every fabricated inch of his human skin. deadly canines having lengthened some time ago, his grin ( normally so charming & compliant ) is now haunting and eerie, exuding naught but danger. one well-placed nip could draw blood; tear flesh; kill. & perhaps that is why there is such an intoxicating thrill at being collared, albeit temporarily, by such a fragile human. one he thoroughly plans to enjoy when the time came.
for the moment, however, he is an obedient dog, even though he desires to continue, to release excess energy that has been spilling over for months. creatures like him need moments like these, however brief, when playing mortal; to avoid doing so is to invite both error, and the temptation to break contract, gobbling up whatever soul is [ promised ] to them.
but his soul is not ready. not yet wreathed in despair, not yet as seasoned as he would like, though it is well on his way. & that is enough to keep the demon well under lock and key, the boy’s willing knight. tongue flicking along his canines, the warm blood coating his hand nearly has him thrumming with pleasure.
so quick to spoil my fun, young master?
how cruel of you.
’ as you wish, my lord. ’
「 The earl’s semblance retains a scintilla of repugnance, tugging decisively at the edges of his lips to further the scowl. He is far from pleased, frigid scrutiny upon the mess massacre executed by the pretend butler— reverberations of violence & a distinct scent of blood tarnishing the air. A putrid display before him; corollary of actions befitting a beast.
But the earl does not relish, nor engage in such primitive brutality ( oh— but he will when the time comes for those he’s sworn revenge upon to beg & snivel at his feet ). Instead, a trice elapses during which a brief examination ensues, merely a moment enough to assess the deed; to seek nonexistent signs of breath among corpses.
Despite conspicuous discontent, subsequent words are bereft of cavils. His order was prone to various interpretations: to extract the information by any means necessary. The dreary denouement was, therefore, naught but an expected likelihood.
& upon a cursory glance, he is swift to find the demon beyond the carefully constructed pantomime; blood besmearing his hands like the eerie simper upon his lips.
A vicious sample of the grotesque finale which awaits him, too, upon the completion of their contract. 」
❛ if you took the liberty of annihilating them, then i surmise you were successful in extracting the information we need. ❜
