the pwmov discourse is pissing me off so bad i don’t care!!!!!! i don’t care!!!!!! they’re literally fictional characters in a book they aren’t real can we just stop being the moral police for five fucking minutes!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the Kacchan's this week Horikoshi
i have unfortunately come to the conclusion that he’s kinda cool
imagine bakugo dating you. youre his first girlfriend and he just...doesn't know how to act😭🥺
Sighs, I have brain rot now😫😫😫
As you both walked down the street, you could feel Katsuki's hand seeking yours, his fingers brushing against your palm. You glanced up at him, noticing the slight pink tint on his cheeks. He was trying so hard to act normal, but the possessive grip on your hand said otherwise.
"Hey, you okay?" you asked, a teasing smile on your lips.
"Yeah, just... don't let go," he mumbled, looking away, clearly embarrassed.
A group of guys walked by, you remember them from school. One of them gave you a friendly smile and a nod to which you responded with a smile. You weren't going to be rude!
Katsuki's grip tightened, his eyes narrowing as he pulled you closer. "What's his problem?" he grumbled under his breath.
"Relax, Kats," you whispered, trying not to laugh. "You know Kaminari, he's just being nice."
"Fuckin' dunceface... can be nice somewhere else," he muttered, fingers growing hot as you realised that he was going to release explosions any moment now.
You placed a small kiss on his cheek and that seemed to do the trick because he looked at you and grinned, almost cockily.
Later, when you tried to pull away to grab something from your bag, Katsuki shot you a look. "What're ya doing?" His voice came out as a soft whisper.
"I need to get my phone," you explained, still struggling.
"You can do that with one hand," he insisted, not letting go of your other hand. "Just... don't let go, kay?"
You couldn't help but smile at his protective nature. "I won't Kats," you said, squeezing his hand gently. "I won't let go."
it was so funny watching the rock climbing event that was on for the first ever time at the Olympics this year. the commentators couldn't wrap there heads around how supportive the competitors were and how that actually planned and discussed the climbing routes and problems as a group. it's so funny because first of all the people commenting on this sport have obviously never stepped foot in a climbing gym in their life and second of all if you do any kind of rope or lead climbing, you are literally required to trust your fellow climbers with you safety because they're the one at the other end of the rope stopping you from breaking your neck in most circumstances
like. i know it's a competition for the purposes of the Olympics, but that doesn't mean that all sport is inherently competitive, or that all competition is inherently conflict, and those kinds of attitudes towards sport are why im only just starting to enjoy exercise now in my mid 20s
your biggest competitor in a sport should be yourself and that’s my hot take.

Reading TBoSaS was an eye opening experience for me because for a minute I was like Katniss and Peeta had it so much better than Lucy and these other children who were treated like literal animals- transporting them like livestock and putting them in cages not to mention the very public, dehumanizing parades. But then I was horrified at myself because I couldn’t believe myself. It wasn’t better at all, Katniss and Peeta were brought there for the same exact purpose and putting them in fancy dresses and providing them with expensive amenities doesn’t take it away. It’s still the same horrible, wretched, gruesome tradition, I just thought it was better because it was also wrapped up nicely with a pretty bow which I guess was the whole point.
I’m so interested in how people view the Hunger Games as a love triangle because while rereading gale and katniss’s relationship feels much less like “omg are they gonna get together” and much more like “this is a story about how a close relationship can completely fall apart”
Peeta Mellark is the type of person to follow a grieving girl to her broken home and plant a garden. But people forget Katniss is also the type to sing a lullaby to a dying girl and lay her in a bed of flowers. Despite being subjected to the cruellest games, they’re two kids who continue to be kind and choose love. Not everyone could find light and love atop a graveyard in a meadow, and that is why Katniss and Peeta have always deserved each other.
I love that in Catching fire Katniss comes to the conclusion the other tributes are trying to keep Peeta alive because they must see how amazingly perfectly wonderful he is. When in actuality that’s just her having a crush and everyone else recognizing that if Peeta gets hurt Katniss will go fully feral and unhinged and probably try to kill everyone and then herself.
If you see me “in the book”-ing under every Hunger Games TikTok comment section mind your business.
I have veterans rights.
This Hunger Games renaissance makes me so happy, because hopefully many people who misunderstood the series as 'just another dystopian YA book' when it came out a decade ago, will reread it now that they are more mature, and that informed critique of society is more common, and understand it better.
In the Mockingjay epilogue Collins calls Katniss and Peeta’s kids the girl and the boy which I think is wonderful. Sure maybe I would like to know exactly what they are called, if she (and Peeta) decided to honor anyone with the custom. But there are just too many that there was no way to please the whole audience.
In the Mockingjay epilogue Katniss calls her own children the girl and the boy which I think is creative. This narrative is where she has told the worst story of her life: trying and failing to keep her sister safe. The epilogue is letting the story know she (and Peeta) ended up alright. But this story is not one she wants her children associated with (as much as possible) and so she will keep that private. She has shared enough with the world, her family is hers.
Currently losing my mind at how much Katniss’ parents parallel Everlark.
Mr. Everdeen/Katniss — From Seam. Olive skin. Black hair. Grey eyes. Hunter. Excellent at archery. Singing. Have a voice which could make the Mockingjay stop singing and listen to their voice.
Mrs. Everdeen/Peeta – Merchant's children. Blond(e). Blue eyes. Looked past status and financial differences and fell in love with Mr. Everdeen/Katniss anyways. Especially in love with their singing. Interested in feminine things (healing/baking and painting) in contrast to their spouses’ hunting skills.
Bonus :
Mrs. Everdeen when Mr. Everdeen died :
“Never having been in love, this is going to be a real trick. I think of my parents. The way my father never failed to bring her gifts from the woods. The way my mother’s face would light up at the sound of his boots at the door. The way she almost stopped living when he died.”
— The Hunger Games
Katniss when Peeta was captured :
“I give up. Stop speaking, responding, refuse food and water. They can pump whatever they want into my arm, but it takes more than that to keep a person going once she’s lost the will to live.”
— Catching Fire
Peeta elaborating on his childhood crush on Katniss :
“No, It happened. And right when your song ended, I knew – just like your mother – I was a goner.”
— The Hunger Games
Screaming. Crying. Throwing up.
Snow not believing Katniss was in love with Peeta is actually part of his character
Thinking back, Katniss' actions after the first game were as convincing as they can be when you don't see her inner monologue. She was only saying she was acting because she wasn't able to process her own feelings and Haymitch pretty much told her, "You're acting, girl, keep acting if you don't wanna get killed." That again put a strain on her and further complicated her feelings.
But if you think about it, she was banging on the door of the operation room when Peeta was being treated, acting hysterical; she kissed him for 10 minutes straight on stage and she was kind of into it; she was so upset about Peeta losing his leg that she cried on stage and hid her face in his shirt to the point HE had to console her about it; she was pretty much sitting in his lap throughout the whole interview.
That looks like a girl madly in love to me. Like, when did she ever give anyone any hint that it was fake? It was all in her head.
Still, Snow was convinced no one would love another person so much they'd rather die with them. Because he didn't think like that and he can't comprehend why someone would think like that.
I'm also wondering why Snow didn't assume Peeta was lying, too. We as readers know Peeta actually lies more than Katniss does and is good at it. Snow probably thought he was just someone waiting to be saved or something. Everyone underestimates Peeta as per usual. That's a topic for another day.
