Wizard101. The Wizard experience of all time.

You are a child from Earth. Potentially have friends, a family, a wholeass life there.

.....

Imagine having ALL of that ripped away from you as Merlin (Or Merle, in this game) hurls you into a COMPLETELY different universe, so YOU can fight off universe-threatening Wizards and Gods with the power of Wizard Yugioh.

....

And then we get to Arc 4, where after fighting Wizards & Gods you fight against the evilest threat of them all.

Colonization.

Aight I got your attention in my first Wizard101 post, so I wanna make a follow up talking about my favorite worldbuilding in an MMO.

So...your normal-ass kid gets hurled into a COMPLETELY different universe to become a Wizard/Pirate.

This Universe is literally called...The Spiral.

And basically the lore is kinda similar to Kingdom Hearts, but instead of Darkness taking over the first world...it's just literal hormonal Titans fighting for supremacy like a stereotypical frat party.

The Worlds are funny. Because there is no between. They're either the most surreal and Magical world with a rich theme.

Or worlds that have a rich theme...and that theme is being based off of different countries and continents around the world.

Africa

Egypt

Japan, China, the whole damn East.

FUCKING AUSTRALIA

There is no in between.

That said, I need to tell ya'll about my genuinely favorite world in that game:

Marleybone.

Which is based off the UK. In Pirate, Marleybone is fucking boss. Genuinely has the best storyline, and I can fucking gush about that another time. But Wizard101's MB Story is more tame, because well...no war.

So like... most, if not ALL of the NPCS in that world...are talkings Dogs. Even Queen Victoria, the Queen of Marleybone....is a Corgi.

.....And most of the citizens of Marleybone are so obnoxious, it's hilarious. One of the quests there has homegirl ask you to beat the shit out of street sweepers just so she could throw a party. YOU FIGHT THOSE GUYS LIKE...SEVERAL TIMES.

And then we got 2 exact questlines that have 2 guys that are imprisoned for wrongdoings...because they just happen to look like the neighborhood gang that overruns the town.

And they don't get better. Nah, nah, even after you save their asses like on several occasions, you still fight them...like literally as apart of the final boss of Arc 4.

Truly astounding.

Random desire to talk about Codename: Kids Next Door.

The villains...are fucking mad funny. Ima just talk about a few of them, because they're probably my favorite Rogue's Gallery because of how ludicrous they are.

For context, the KND are literal child soldiers fighting against both adults, teachers, and even some old peopld. So lemme just start off with the first villains introduced in the series:

A gay couple.

Is there anything else to talk about them? Aight, next one.

What I love about Mr. Boss is that...he's literally just that guy. Before Father was introduced, homie was just strutting his stuff being the leader of the adults. Homie just also has control over this show's version of Storm Troppers - AKA, your local Ice Cream Men. Idk how far this power stems, but in all honesty, Kudos to this guy.

I'll be transparent, here, Crazy Old Catlady was never really my favorite of the mainline villains, but I admire her aesthetic of controlling the universe' cats....and can fucking transform into cat MECHS.

This man? THIS MAN, has grown into one of my most favorite villains in the show. Candy Pirates? Mwah. His dynamic with Numbuh 5? MWAH. Phenomenal villain.

This woman is also one of my favorite villains, solely because I love food. Even as a kid, I thought that her food actually looked kinda good. And the fact that she got a wholeass episode with ROCK OPERA, LIKE KIND? CALM TF DOWN! THEY'RE FIGHTING A GIANT SANDWICH!

Count Spankulot. This man...despite his badass appearance...is a menace to society. His wholeass sthick...is that he's a fucking AND I QUOTE - 'Spank-Happy Vampire. And his entire deal is GOING HOUSE TO HOUSE...TO SPANK NAUGHTY CHILDREN. And can EVEN fucking HYPNOTIZE other children...into being 'Spank-Happy Vampires' to do his weirdass sthick.

I'm pretty sure he's the only adult to actually meet with jailtime. AND IT WASN'T BECAUSE HIS ACTIONS WERE EVEN SHITTY! NAH, IT WAS BECAUSE HE HAS THE WRONG. HOUSE!

So this man? As a kid I loved him, as an adult, homie?

BUT AT LEAST HE AIN’T A WALKING THREAT TO THE GENEVA CONVENTION LIKE THIS DUDE IS!

His ENTIRE deal is GETTING PEOPLE SICK! I remember ClassicmanD saying that KND has a thing with doubling down on gross-out humor...AND THIS GUY'S EXISTENCE IS PROOF OF IT!

Aight we getting to the meat of the villains, because, damn did is she also a great one. Serving as...basically the leader of the teenagers. She's like a wholeass ninja, I love it. And serving as Numbuh 5's foil because of how she's her sister? Mmm. They ate.

I don't even need to talk about how much they ate with these 5, as well. They're like...the perfect foil for the KND. Children, themselves, orchestrating and helping the adults out? Legit the best villains. And god? The reveal in Operation Z.E.R.O? The fact that they were KND, too? Also fucking magnificent. But not as magnificent as the guy who made them this way:

Father. The best all-time antagonist in the show. His reveal? Everything. His voice? Everything. The fact that his father is basically the equivalent of an eldritch abomination? EVERYTHING. And I would go on & on about Father's voice, because...his voice is just...EVERYTHING. He & Mr. Boss share the same VA, and yet Maurice just...fucking ATE with his voice, the inflation when he just randomly raises his voice?

I could gush about both Father for eons, because he's genuinely the best part of this show.
