Vampire Diaries

I bought the books today and I started reading them and I was like who's Judith and who the hell is Margret? And where is Jeremy at? Who is this Meredith and why is she picking up Elena's schedule? Why has she been to France? I was sort of pissed at first that book wasn't like the TV show but I stopped and paused for a moment realising something. It's new and the original idea, the TV show was just a representation of the author's fantastic work. Yes I know the basics but the characters are different, there are new ones and new relationships to discover. And I couldn't be more excited. I want to know what happens to Meredith and Margret. I want to know who Bonnie falls in love with if Jeremy isn't around and I now want to know if Elena has a different personality in the books - maybe she's likeable? I'm just so excited to read them and I regret not reading them before watching the show.
