Smoke
I’m putting out my cigarette, And as I smash it into the ash tray, I swear the smoke writes out your name.

As She Cries into Her Drink
She drinks a double crown and coke in the morning, with her coffee Then heads out for an eight hour day
Feeling restless and weary Depressed and just shitty Looking forward to the end of her day Because there's no one there to judge her As she cries into her drink As she reaches for her cellular phone There's no one there to judge her As she cries into her drink As she hangs up and sits at home, all alone
Friends call to get together She's always feeling under the weather Making up excuses is just part of her act
The energy she would waste on a pointless night out Could be spent, she thinks, in much better ways
Because there's no one there to judge her As she cries into her drink As she reaches for her cellular phone
There's no one there to judge her As she cries into her drink As she hangs up and sits at home, all alone
She drinks a double crown and coke in the morning, with her coffee But doesn't make it in that day
She spent countless hours drinking, pondering, and thinking How could anybody live that way?
Well, there was no one there to save her As she cried into her drink As she loaded up that old handgun
There was no one there to save her As she said a final prayer It was something that cannot be undone.
Dusty Words
Promises seemed to be so much You didn’t have to act so tough But that never surprised me I miss you standing by me.
But it’s no fault of yours. I’m sorry for the dusty words.
I Should of told you sooner How you brightened up my day. I’m always at a loss for words with so much left to say.
But it’s not fault of yours. I’m sorry for the dusty words.
Knowing you, I’m a better person for it. And I’m writing this because I should have known better than to have ruined it.
But it’s no fault of yours. I’m sorry for the dusty words.
I never should have climbed down from the pedestal I was placed on. And now I realize how much I hurt you, every second you choose to be gone.
But it’s no fault of yours. I’m sorry for the dusty words.
You always said you’ve lived a full, long life with no regrets to think of. But there’s a million things I’d say and change, if given the chance even just once.
But it’s no fault of yours. I was supposed to be one of the few people who didn’t hurt you.
But it is no fault of yours, I’m living with this grief I’ve caused myself.
It’s no fault of yours, that I lost the one person I would die for.
You know, It’s no fault of yours. It rests squarely in my hands. I’d take away the hurt, the pain, if I was only given the chance.
But, There I go again. I’ve said too much, my friend. It’s been bottled up so long, I do apologize for the dust.
