the idea that people nowadays are more sensitive and easy to offend than they were in the past is such horseshit. people used to throw hands if you stepped on their shadow and calling a person a coward was legally justifiable grounds for them to challenge you to a duel with pistols.
since some people are having trouble understanding what i meant here, i would like to clarify that i am 100% mocking the hypocrisy of people who idolize the “good old days when people weren’t offended by everything” and then turn around and whine about how sjws are ruining their lives
if you’re whining about sjws in the comments of this post please know that i am making fun of you and that the old white relative you idolize for “giving no fucks” probably cried himself to sleep last night when he saw an interracial couple in a target commercial
If the earth was flat all the cats would have knocked everything off the edge already.
My counselor, talking about psychology: “Our frontal lobe is what separates us from monkeys.”
Me: “You mean the part that doesn’t work properly in my brain?”
My counselor: “Right.”
Me: “Right.”
So what you’re saying is, basically
im monky
Meet our new King.
Direct fucking action.
At the time he wasn’t even a sitting MP he was just an asshole who had said rude things about suffragists.
This is the opposite of those “oddly satisfying images”
it’s funny and all but it’s also an example of how corporations will cheat people in every single possible way they are legally able to get away with if there isn’t any system of regulation to protect consumers.
You know the evilest thing about this though is that in many cases the packaging costs the company just as much to manufacture as the product inside, so it’s not even a cost-cutting measure at the production level. It really is just to trick you so you’ll pay more for a larger looking item and then have to buy a new one sooner.
Instead of a blanket ban on plastic straws can we start by banning overly large packaging? This isn’t just deceptive, it’s also incredibly wasteful. And unlike straws, nobody needs bulky and difficult packaging that’s twice as large as it needs to be.

If y’all wanna know the true power of hate, just remember that Alan Turing, the breaker of the enigma code in WWII, was driven to suicide by being forced to undergo chemical castration as a punishment for his homosexuality.
Historians say he saved 14 to 21 million lives.
I’d also like to say in the time we studied WWII in school, the history textbooks never mentioned him. I had never heard of the guy until I watched “The Imitation Game” which I 110% recommend you watch if you haven’t.Alan Turing was a blessing to humanity who saved (once again) 14 to 21 million lives, and he is left out of history because he was gay.
And this is just one example?? So many brilliant and heroic people are left out of history because of their race, their gender, their sexuality, their religion, and it’s just because some bigots in positions of influence get to decide what parts of history are remembered.
This man has had a profound effect on the world, it’s estimated he shortened the war by 2 years, saved countless lives and was the father of modern computing. Without him the world would be a very different, and very dark place.
