I'm the magnificent, marvelous, mad Madam Mim! Now, don't tell me you've never heard of me before? Why, I'm the greatest! I'm truly marvelous! I have more magic in one finger than that lousy Merlin! If you're good, I suggest you stay away because in my book, that's bad! Go on, now, don't make me destroy you because I will! But of course, I'll give you a starting chance... Ed gulped, started wincing. Yeah, he thought that that thing with the flower was cool.

But if that … sorceress (did she had her own stone, too?) was able to desiccate a flower, she was also able to do the same thing to a hyena. He nervously started nudging Banzai. He should do something, as fast as he could.

His friend just cocked an eyebrow at him – Banzai didn’t even lower his brow when Ed told him in his jabber about his suspicions.  ”Ed, ya’re bein’ a drama-queen … -king. – Heh.” He snorted, rolling his eyes while turning back to Mim. “Yeah, ‘t was kinda cool.“  — Judging by his tone of voice, this wasn’t his real opinion. “Soo … ev’rythin’ ya can do is, like, do stuff to a flower? Fire can do the same thing, y’know?“

"Oh really~" Mim said in a defensive tone. So, these hyenas aren't impressed, ey? Well I'll show them!

"I can do so much more things to everything! Not just an insignificant flower!" she said, raising her voice.

"Can fire do this?!" she asked in a challenging and loud voice. One second Mim was normal sized, then the next second, she was small as the hyenas. "Can fire do the same thing?" she asked again, mockingly, crossing her arms.

Mim smiled mischievously as she watched the two hyenas interact. “Well~” she said loudly. “You dearies are here now, that’s what’s important. Maybe there’s something I can do for either of you, hmmm?” she asked them, winking at them and hoping to reel them in.

Ed now finally ‘knocked’ some ‘sense’ into himself. He furrowed his brow, glanced at Banzai, back at Mim, shaking his head (even though it was barely visible).

Banzai, on the contrary, snorted. “What could ya do for us? I mean, who’d give ya the power or what?“

Mim continued to smile at them with that same mischievous grin-- especially at the one hyena's question.

"Oh, I could do a lot for you dearies," she sang. She turned around and pranced towards a bush with pink flowers. She plucked one out and swayed her way back to the hyenas. "Lucky for you two, you're in the presence of the world's greatest sorceress," she bragged with a blinding grin.

"She held the flower out for them to see and with her other hand, she touched the middle of the flower with her index finger and almost instantly, the flower wilted, turned black and crumbled into dust from between her fingers. "Impressive, right?" she wagged her eyebrows convincingly.

“That’s neat.” Banzai tried to grin – the left side of his face even looked like grinning.

The right one didn’t. If he tried to smile ‘correctly’ and ‘completely’, it would look forced.

Ed, being in some kind of dreamy state, just nodded at Mim. Yeah. They came here just to see her.

“Um …” Banzai harrumphed, now looking sceptical. “Ed – nope. Ya didn’t know she existed before.”

"Says me, of course!" she said in a surprised duh-tone. "My magic exceeds any other wizard's or witch's. I'm that good!" she boasted, nodding her head and batting her eyelashes at him.

Mim’s eyes widened for just a tiny fraction then went back to normal. “More talking animals, I see~” She said in a steady voice. “Well, if you don’t know where you are, I might as well tell you right?” she drawled out. “You’re in my forest, dearies. Maybe you’ve come to see me for my magnificence?”

“Ya own a forest?” Banzai’s eyes were now really bug-eyed, without pretending anything. Shenzi was the leader of the Elephant’s Graveyard – clan, and they could say they were owning it, but they actually didn’t. “That’s … awesome!”

Ed, ignoring his best friend, just tilted his head, still staring blankly at PrettyPurpleHead. And started drooling. Of course, he was still Ed … luckily.

“… ‘n who’re ya?” Banzai felt like he was back in his teens, feeling somehow shy and quite nervous asking a cute girl for … something, like a bone.

"In a way, yes, it is my forest," she told them casually as she turned around and started dancing towards the log where she sat. "And thank you, dear. That is awesome," she giggled.

At Banzai's question, she stood up again. "Who am I? Who am I? But my dears, I thought you came here specially to see me?" she asked in a confused way, tilting her pretty little head to the side. "I'm Madam Mim! Surely, you've heard of me?~"

Mim heard some rustling behind her and turned to look with a bored expression— which quickly changed when she saw two hyenas.

“Well, what do have here?” she sang in her bell-like voice. She stood up and walked over to them. “Are you little darlings, lost?” she asked, scratching one hyena under his chin with her finger.

Ed. Ed of all hyenas. Okay, there were only the two of them … But still. That lucky bastard.

That lucky bastard’s eyes fixed – for a short moment. Then, his stare became blank. The scratching was relaxing … He just nodded.

Banzai glared at him. “I … Sorta – Actually we’re no– We totally’re!” His mien became all bug-eyed, like a small cub. Bug-eyed, sad, like a baby that would burst into tears every moment. He winced. So sad.

Banzai cocked his ears, was about to say “Ewww. That wooord”, until he saw – that pretty lady with the purple hair.

Ed started drooling, but quickly ‘composed’ himself (well … we’re talking about Ed here) and glared at Banzai. He had seen her first.

I'm back! Did anybody miss me?~

“No..” She looked down into the cup with curiosity, watching it swirl around together. The cup was hot…this was no drink she’d had before. She laughed, thinking how it’d be to live in a cave. “It sounds like it’d be terrible.”

She nodded at the woman’s comment, and took a gulp of tea. A much bigger gulp than she should’ve. The tea was scalding hot, and her eyes widened in surprise as she gently thrust the cup back onto the table, trying to swallow the rest of the hot liquid into herself, hoping it would soon leave her aching tongue which now hurt very much, almost as though she’d bit it. “Oh-” This woman was not the type to make up her mind easily. “My name is Pocahontas, what else would you like to know?”

"Terrible? It sounds wonderful!" she argued loudly, referring to how nice it would be to live in a cave with all those bats.

She watched as the girl's eyes widened at how hot the tea was and smirked. "Oopsies~ Forgot to warn you dearie, it's hot," she said without remorse as she took another sip of her too-hot tea. She placed the cup back on the table and leaned forward on her elbows, staring the girl down. "Pocahontas, ey? Strange name," with just that, she leaned back violently in her chair, almost making it tip. "I don't want to know anything else! You're the one who wanted to speak to me- not that I blame you, who would'n't want to speak to me- I'm simply amazing! Yes, yes. It's you who wanted to speak with me, not the other way around! So speak!"

Pocahontas frowned slightly. “I didn’t think we’d be speaking secretly…I see..”

Her eyes widened, examining the chair lightly before sitting. Pocahontas noticed fire, coming from…no where…onto the metal bowl that seemed to be upside down..

Her eyes widened. “Tea? What’s tea? Is it in that?” Her eyes pointed to the shiny dome in question.

"You don't know what's tea?" she asked incredulously. "Goodness, my child, do you live in a cave?" she asked snarkily as she moved towards the table and poured a cup of tea for the girl and herself. "Ohhh, I wonder what's it's like to live in a cave," she mused loudly. "All dark with nothing but bats inside," she gushed giddily as she took a seat across from the girl.

"Go on, dearie, drink up," she said and took a sip of tea herself. "Now, what do you want to speak with me about, my child?" she asked. But before the girl could answer, she spluttered and a few drops of tea came dribbling down her chin. "But first I want to know just who the heck you are! Can't forget about manners, now can we?" she asked rhetorically as she wiped her mouth and chin all across the sleeve of her shirt.

“Yes. Child. You act like one, and I would believe myself to be much older than you think.” Who actually does need love? She nodded slowly. “Yes…yes I have, dear.”

"I don't act like a child, dearie," she snickered-giggled at what she thought was a compliment. "I'm mad! MAD MAD MAD! Anyihihihi!" she danced around with her hands on the hem of her dress, lifting them up as she pranced around. She then slid herself in front of Ursula, shoving her face mere inches from the sea-witch. "Now, now. You must tell me all about the lovely torture you've put people in," she said, nodding happily. She moved back and sat back down on the log. "Come on now, share. Don't be shy," she pressed.
