“It could be worse”

I know my depression isn’t the worst. I know there are people out there who are having a much harder day, week, month, year, than me. I know I should feel so lucky to be where I am and with what I have.

It’s just so fucking hard sometimes. I just feel so sad all the time. I don’t have the energy to do the things I want to do, or say nice things to the people I care about. Then I feel terrible later because it wouldn’t have taken too much energy, why didn’t I just do it?

I’m not happy with who I am, but I’m too exhausted to change.
