“It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.”
— Chuck Palahniuk

Pedro Salinas, tr. by Ruth Katz Crispin, from Memory in My Hands: The Love Poetry of Pedro Salinas; “The voice I owe to you”
You can’t go to bed without a glass of wine.
“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.“”
— ~ Edith Wharton.
"You're beautiful because you know your own darkness and still, that alone doesn't stop you from finding your own light."
– R. M. Drake

It is worth remembering that a cliché became a cliché for good reason: it worked when first invented.
Alexander Mackendrick ( director/screenwriter)
“What, in fact, is the absurd man? He who, without negating it, does nothing for the eternal. Not that nostalgia is foreign to him. But he prefers his courage and his reasoning. The first teaches him to live without appeal and to get along with what he has; the second informs him of his limits. Assured of his temporally limited freedom, of his revolt devoid of future, and of his mortal consciousness, he lives out his adventure within the span of his lifetime. That is his field, that is his action, which he shields from any judgment but his own. A greater life cannot mean for him another life.”

Albert Camus
If this is the end of their story then that’s fine, because everything isn’t always like the books, or the movies. Everything doesn’t have a happy ending.
I wrote so much, and to me, they all appear the same, same black and white and some red pages though all of them conveying the same thing, they all keep me sane they all drive me mad

“His world was a lie, he came to believe, and without her in it he had nothing to live for even if it were truth.”
— Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howey
