Not feeling well at all this morning so I'll be out, but I'll try popping on later to help with tickets if I can. I assume we're having the weekly meeting today, and there wasn't really anything of importance for me to bring to the table on this one...if someone can just jot down notes if there's anything important to go over that I can check out tomorrow, that'd be awesome.

My phone (which is also my alarm), decided to shut itself off in the middle of the night...I literally *just* woke up. Getting cleaned up and heading in immediately...be there asafp.

i'm going to take my floating holiday today, moving some new furniture into my place this weekend I pulled something in my lower back and I'm still really sore. I'll log in during the day and work on tickets just to keep them manageable. Last night when I worked on tickets they were all under 12 hours so I'll try and make sure none get past that. I'll be on IM when I log in so I'll be reachable.

I just had a rather gnarly nosebleed...it happens to be the same nostril that I blew a blood vessel in when I was a kid - which can spell bad news if it happens too many times, so I'm going to have to watch it really closely. If it starts gushing again I may have to leave for the day :( Just a heads up...

Woke up to a migraine...got it under control finally, and am heading in to the office here shortly. Just wanted to give a head's up that I'd be late....see you in a bit!

Non-work related question...

Does anyone have a spare *AMD Athlon 64 x2 socket 939 CPU* by any chance? I'm seeking to purchase one, and eBay is giving me crap for choices. Not finding any for a reasonable price via Google, so I figured I'd see if anyone might have one or know of someone that might have one and want to get rid of it. Thanks!

Hey all - I know the timing is crap, but I did something most unpleasant to my shoulder, and I am in crazy amounts of pain right now. Gonna take a sick day. I would just work from home, but I know we need advance notice for that. I'll still log in and help with tickets as much as I can because I know everything blew up last night. I'll be on IM in an hour or so.

Non-work related: Anyone have an AIR MATTRESS I could borrow?

Hi - My older brother is flying into town tomorrow, and I find myself in the peculiar predicament of not having a very comfortable sleeping situation for him. I was led to believe that Bed Bath & Beyond had (cheap) air mattresses for sale, but of course they want like $200 for them, and I only really need one for this week and emergency situations. I have no car so I can't easily get to the Target in Daly City. REI doesn't have the right size/priced ones either. I figured maybe someone out there might have one I could borrow for about a week. Or perhaps have suggestions for place(s) in the city that might carry them. I'm hoping to spend less than $50 if possible. Anyone? Bueller? Thanks in advance, and many apologies for the APB interruption....

I'm gonna have to call out too.I have been up since 6:30 - was gonna try and make it in for waffles, but my nose started bleeding again this morning (it bled a few times last night,and has been more often since we moved into the new bldg - too much dust!).Anyway,I've been bleeding off and on all morning, and at this point, have a raging headache to go with the sinus pain. I'll mark the wiki tomorrow.

My roommates nephew died unexpectedly, and she’s flying out for an emergency flight to Ohio today. I had to make arrangements with her for taking care of her cat, and some heating work she’s having done on our house this week. Be in shortly - shouldn’t be too much later than about 10ish.

Ugh, I know, I've been telling people about it for a week now...but right now my stomach is REALLY not doing too hot. The thought of eating or drinking anything is not even appealing in the slightest. I'm not trying to be a team buzzkill, but really don't know what to do.

Will it be frowned upon if I just come in later today? At least then I could lay down for a bit and try to get my stomach settled. Right now I'm not sure I could make a whole bus ride w/o either hurling or running off the bus to the nearest bathroom.

Basically, I kept trying to find a ride over here from the East Bay, and was told by a coupla different folks that I'd get one - then they kept pushing back when they said they could get me. I didn't have enough $$ for a cab or I woulda cabbed to BART, and the place I was at doesn't have weekend bus service. I was still trying to make it in the office by 7 or 8pm - but should've just conceded that my luck had run out and it wasn't gonna happen - by that time I just resolved to come in early and do everything, but I still should've called or texted you. There is no excuse for that, and I will not let it happen again.

The good news out of all of this is, I think I've gotten myself on an earlier schedule, so I can continue to make it not only on time, but early.

(pardon me if I try to find a bright side out of this - I'm not trying to be snarky or anything by ANY means)

Hello all -

I am hoping that Tahoe is really gorgeous. It's been raining hard here, so I'm guessing there's good snow there. I wanted to write you all, to first, thank Hanna & everyone who made all the effort and care to ensure that we had an amazing trip to Tahoe. I realize the amount of time and care it took, and that it was done making sure that all of us had the most awesome trip possible. To say I am upset about having to miss it, is an understatement of epic proportions.

Without getting into all the gory details, I wanted to let you know what happened to me Wednesday night that precipitated my failure to be able to join everyone up there. A girl friend of mine had invited me out to dinner and some drinks for my birthday since I was going to be up in Tahoe. The bar was supposedly this new, semi-secret project by the Bourbon & Branch folks that does artisanal cocktails for cheap. Great? Not so much. Leaving the bar, we were accosted by a homeless crackhead type. First he said some inappropriate things to my date, and then he was bothering me for money. I politely told him to be respectful to her, and that I had no money, but that explanation was apparently not good enough, because the minute my back had turned, I felt myself get pulled backwards by my backpack, and then turned around just in time to avoid getting cracked over the skull by some blunt instrument he had. That was the lucky part...he did manage to get in a bunch of whacks all over my right side, and especially my right hand which I was holding out in front of me to defend myself. One good crack split my finger wide open at the knuckle. Thankfully it's not broken, and didn't require stitches, but I did have to get a tetanus shot and I can't fully flex that finger due to where the split is. The night got worse when I cabbed home and found out my backpack had opened up slightly when the guy grabbed it, and I found that my keys had also disappeared. I wound up having to break into my house, which isn't that big a deal, but winds up being an extra expense to repair the tiny window next to my front door, and insult added to an already existent injury.

I'm alive, which is the important thing. Maybe a little worse for the wear, but alive. He also didn't manage to rob me, which is also very good. I am trying to look on the bright side of this, since it caused me to miss the trip.

At any rate, I wanted to express my gratitude to you all for all of the effort in taking care of us, and making sure we had this great trip. I also wanted to apologize for any inconvenience my absence caused anyone. I really hope that it didn't, and that my room was easily filled, etc. If I could have made it despite the injury, I certainly would have. I will be holding down the fort today and helping Tyler if he wants/needs any help this weekend since I'm stuck down here. So if anyone needs me, just hop on IM or email me and I can take care of whatever needs doing. Have a great trip, please stay safe, and have some good runs down the mountain for me...there's birthday cake waiting for you all at the office when you return that my mom sent us all.

As per why I was late, I didn't want to serve up reasons, as before you made it kind of sound like the "why" would only make me sound like I was making up excuses, but, in all honesty, I have been battling a rather unsavory stomach condition since around 4am...when I wrote in, I was in between one of about 20 restroom visits that occurred this morning. I still feel like crap, but everything is pretty much "gone" now. It was definitely an emergency situation, as I couldn't go for more than about 5 minutes without needing the bathroom nearby.

I don't want to slip on time either, and had I not been in that condition, I wouldn't have done that. I also didn't feel it warranted an entire day off of PTO time.

If it caused you or the team any inconvenience, I apologize profusely, and it will not be a habit. I've been getting used to coming either early or by the 9:30 start time, and I prefer to keep it that way.

I'm supposed to go to Sacramento to see a comedy show I have tickets for, and the show starts at 7pm...I'm taking train up there, and it takes a couple hours by train, so Im wondering if it'll be ok I come in early Friday and leave early, or leave early and work a few hours from home Saturday to make up the time. Making up hours on Saturday would be easiest due to how infrequently my bus lines run early on weekdays, but, ican make it work regardless if necessary.
