The Autism Constellation by No Boilerplate
Incredibly interesting video that I relate to so badly.
Some people are better than other people? This is an extraordinary claim without the extraordinary evidence needed to back it up.
The nation I was born in happens to be better than all the others? How convenient.
The clothes society says I should wear are decided largely by my biological sex? That doesn't seem very likely and needlessly restrictive.
Who cares?
Who told you these rules?
You cannot persuade me of the Simplicity of the world,
I can *only *see the complexity
There's no such thing as "rational behaviour" in society
Or at least, you can't get to it from the details, it only makes sense in the broader picture of over-arching social conventions.

I love the mention of social disability but also the flaws of it in the sense that it often links it to capitalism and value extraction. Like "you're disabled because you lack the ability to produce shareholder value" instead of "you're disabled because you can't do the things you want to do"
I like the benedfhjkasdfj cumbklfdgj joke.
Using the scientific method. Autistic problems require Autistic problems. That was a joke but ofc it makes sense.
I'm happy that it mentions that there are social changes that can happen. I find a lot of self help stuff never talks abt how. The society you're in is also fucked and so touching grass and going to the gym are thing you should do but also like. Everything's a little fucked y'know.
I like this but also there is something I want to add about feeling. Like I personally think that it's important to give yourself time to just fucking ball your eyes out even if the issue is not rational. Like usually it'll happen during the impact assessment as well.
I like how in the incidence report he's willing to include things that are like. Things that might seem silly. for example including the "I had too much fun so I forgot to take a break." Like that seems like "oh just take a break" But ofc that's the next thing right in terms of solutions. Admitting that mistakes are possible and shit is good idk.
Yeaj this is true, I love the again the clear specification that like. It's not just you're fault. This world isn't built for you so like. It sucks but the only thing you can do is social action (which is not the focus here) or changing your own behaviour, which sucks but it is what it is.
Yes this is so true. This reminds me of the tumblr post that's like "you can shower in the dark". You're allowed to do things that are silly if it means you are more comfortable. I didn't like the popcorn ceiling in the room of my apartment so I literally covered it with a throw blanket. You can do these things if it helps you, especially in the comfort of your own home where it's literally just for you. Who gives a shit abt what other ppl think?
Anyway good video loved it 10/10 would recommend ^w^
