Leon knew a lot about Merlin. It was hard not to, being his partner, and spending as much time as possible together left little room for secrets.

In fact after the whole Emrys discussion, Leon had thought he knew every big secret about Merlin. Dragon Lord, being of pure magic, worshipped as a god, most definitely immortal. What more could there possibly be?

Scales.

There could be scales, on Merlin's back.

"What?" Leon managed to ask.

"I'm sort of a human dragon hybrid thing now," Merlin said with a shrug, as if he weren't turning Leon's world upside down. Again.
