Man now I'm thinking of Arthur Merlin and Gwen running around being besties
Would I get shot if I said qpr Arwen
I think it's strange to expect people (celebrities) to give a statement on the death of loved ones. Nobody owes you anything in a time of mourning. Its wildly tone deaf to look at the death of a man who meant so much to so many and go "...but where's so and so's statement? Hm?"
If someone came up to you after somebody in your life died and went "I'm disappointed you haven't made a post/statement on social media about this person's passing" you'd probably be rightfully upset.
It's not a moral failing to not post a tribute about a loved one's death. And to be so wrapped up in whether or not someone does is weird and I think you should do some reflecting.
to be honest i think there’s a large number of people who conflate the very real and widespread phenomenon that women tend to be written off as just mothers or love interests in order to diminish their importance in a given story with the fact that a huge reason they’re sent to narrative purgatory in this way is BECAUSE the labels of “mother” and “girlfriend/wife” are systematically devalued and seen as inherently inferior because they’re terms that have been associated with ownership and/or control over women. like the amount of people who’ve told me that a certain female character is uninteresting or badly written because she happened to have a kid or be a man’s girlfriend or sister just to find out she was actually fleshed out very well and carried significant narrative importance frustrates me soo bad. there’s a huge problem with how those roles (specifically “wife” and “mother”) are systematically devalued and yet also perpetuated as the only viable options for women to achieve their societal roles in the patriarchy but acknowledging the devaluation of those labels to begin with is an important discussion in itself.
babe I'm sorry cant do the dishes tonight my toxic masculinity is flaring up
Skk in a coffee shop, why not?
If I make a podfic no one is allowed to make a comment about my accent when/if it slips through
I don't have any good pictures of my first piece that got displayed publicly, but I do have this one
Idk like
It's not a super spectacular story, there was an exhibition going on in my city's museum and I barely got in.
Wth it's my blog I can do what I want
Fool's Gold took about two months to complete, I crocheted the figures and half sewed, half glue them onto cardboard. Most of the piece is actually compiled of random scraps that were laying around the art room.
It took me a week to sew the fabric background together and then onto the canvas with gold thread like the yarn being pulled from the patchwork figure. Stuck intermittently across the patchwork background are yellow pins. I punched holes in the canvas on a whim because I wanted to add to the idea of this patchwork falling apart as it's slowly picked clean of all the "golden" pieces. The white canvas looked too clean though, so I decided to sprinkle in some purple as a reflection of the perfect figure. It's something real being covered by haphazard attempts at muting oneself.
The perfect figure in the gold frame is deliberately angled away from the patchwork, not looking at the damage it is causing. The frame it's in was saved from the trash by me and originally was going to have a lot of painted details and such but when I pulled away from it, I hated it and spray painted it gold out of frustration ʘ‿ʘ (I don't regret it). Spray painting it to hide the imperfections is on theme, really. But it's not all hidden, the wood is still visible along the edges. Just like the figure is still purple despite the gold wrapped around it.
I know what this piece means to me, but I've heard a few people interpret it differently. Which is fun, I never had any intention of telling one distinct story, so I'm glad there are those who found something else to see.
oh you watched a movie I recommended????? you listened to a song I told you about ?????? you read one of my favourite books ?????? do you know that I would literally kill for you ????? let's drink each others blood

Someone asked about my ocs which I'm afraid to tell you was objectively a mistake.
I have many stories but the one with dead children is the most fleshed out and will hopefully become a comic one day 💃
Anyway. Most of the central characters died in some horrific way and my son, Brian, helps them through their trauma and brings them community while fending off any potential threats.
Brian is my baby boy, I love him dearly, he's also been dead for 53 years. He was 12 when he died. He goes out and finds any lost souls and learns their stories and is generally the dad none of these kids had.
His best friend, Miriam, my baby girl died in 1980 at 14 due to passing out from her anorexia and hitting her head against a bathroom sink. She keeps everyone in line and is the anchor of the camp they stay at. Wherever she is Brian knows how to get to her.
And Louis completes their trio by being the "cool" guy all the kids get along with. He killed himself after being outed as gay in 1983 at 17 but fear not he has a boyfriend now and they're adorable to the point of irritating everyone
Hehehheheheheehe hehehehe
I created a whole branch of the church for this story called the Church of the Holy Spirit formed during the crusades by a group of knights who realized they were seeing their fallen comrades they abandoned their quest and fled to what is modern day Germany which is where the high council still meets
In this world there are three types of people who can see the dead, Visions, Exorcists, and Oracles
Visions or Visionaries, are the most common and they can become exorcists if they so choose. They can see the dead after a near death experience and have "vulnerable souls" which makes sense later in the series
Exorcists are typically people who gained the ability to see the dead after being baptized, it's seen as their divine calling to help the dead move on and work in the church but they don't have to and it's generally frowned upon to stick around if you're not in it
Oracles are descendants of the nephilim and have a tendency to die young. They're more susceptible to being possessed by demons, can tell how old a ghost is based on their aura, and see glimpses of the future.
Annabel 'Anna' Sokolov is an oracle in the series who unites another ghost with the camp
John is a Vision turned Exorcist who's trying to prove himself to the congregation
Together they get up to shenanigans

what are your favorite arlance headcanons
helloooo sorry for the late reply lol. here some headcanons
-- lancelot still has the fake parchment from 1x05 and keeps it with him at all times after leaving camelot (do not ask me how he retrieved it <3)
-- during the period he's away from camelot, he occasionally buys some paper and ink to write to arthur. he never finds the nerve to sends the letters, but never manages to throw them away either
-- ever since lancelot left camelot, it doesn't take long for people to notice that the crown prince turns particularly antsy everytime there are rumors of some mysteryous knight without colors roaming the city's outskirt
-- they start giving each other favors long before they get together or even admit their feelings. at some point they exchange rings instead of ribbons and never speak of it again
-- when they can't wear the rings, they keep them on a string around their neck, like necklaces. they deflect any questions whenever people try to ask
-- one time arthur casually mentions how he misses lance's long hair and from that moment on lance never cuts it short again
-- when they are together they never talk much. they ride in perfect comfortable silence and most of their conversations take place in the space between one word and the next
-- similarly, they rarely touch. but they are somehow always orbiting each other when they are in public spaces
-- they sometimes like to read to each other :)
-- they discuss death all the time. like, how they think tey're going to die, by which wound, or how they wish their last moment will be. it's sort of an unspoken understanding that each of them wishes for the other to be there at the end
-- all the same, everytime they part arthur can't shake the terrible feeling that he's never going to see lancelot again
-- they never say "i love you", they just come up with increasingly unhinged ways to express their feelings. like, 'i dont think i was made to live in a world without you', or some crazy shit like that
-- lancelot is one of the few people who know how to deal with arthur's panic attacks (the other is merlin)
-- arthur always goes to lance for advice but lance's advice is just. not particularly good lmao. questionable at best. it always involves something borderline suicidal or outright deranged
-- the first time they kiss it's in the armory after a training session where lance beat the shit out of arthur. arthur initiates it
-- they are each other's first :)
-- they rarely fight but when they do it gets messy quickly. neither of them know how to properly express their emotions so they either walk away and dont talk for weeks or have sex and then don't talk for weeks
-- on a related note, they never apologize and never make up. some time after the fight they sort of drift toward each other again like nothing ever happened
-- they unironically get off on calling each other "my lord", "sir", "your highness" and the like
-- they bite each other sexual style
I think it would have been cool if both Arthur and Morgana had green eyes tbh
Yk that movie First Knight (1995), Sean Connery played Arthur in it
Yeah that movie changed my brain chemistry-i need to rewatch it oh my God
