These guys love their ninja family, but they're closest to each other than anyone else. When things get scary and they have trouble calming down, they gather all their blankets and make a nest and huddle together to provide comfort and safety to help each other sleep
Nya is embarrassed to admit it, but Kai inspires her a lot. Watching him work in the forges, save her from the skulkin, find all these new friends and a new family for them, she thinks her brother is pretty damn amazing. But that won't stop her from teasing him and pulling pranks
Kai is just as impressed by Nya, always so strong and independent. Sometimes he worries that she doesn't need him, and on those days he's extra clingy and protective. He's proud of her but sometimes he wishes she would just stay his little sister a while longer
you'd think it would be Kai who beats up anyone who tries to hit on Nya, right? W R O N G. Kai is actually pretty chill, knows his sis can handle herself. H o w e v e r, anyone who wants to date Kai has to go through Nya and she won't make it easy on them, you gotta be good enough for her brother or she'll boot you to the curb
They always have each other's backs, thick as thieves. They know each other inside and out, good and bad and all the things in-between.
This also means they know exactly how to get under each other's skin, and they bicker c o n s t a n t l y (you know how siblings be).
On the rare occasions they actually fight, it can turn really nasty. They always regret the things they say after, and it makes everyone a bit upset to see these two at odds
The very instant someone else tries to mess with either sibling? May god have mercy on their soul, because Kai and Nya certainly won't. They'd walk through hell and back for each other and always know when something is bothering the other, and will gladly take up arms to avenge their sibling
Nya was the first person Kai came out to as bi, he whispered it to her for fear that if he said it too loud someone would hear and make trouble for him. Nya has always been instantly accepting and supportive of her brother, goes to pride with him and gossips about cute boys
I personally think Kai would like makeup. Nothing flamboyant, but a bit of eyeliner and some mascara that Nya is happy to teach him how to apply
Nya sometimes borrows Kai's deodorant or shampoo because they're used to sharing everything. Kai in turn sometimes borrows Nya's makeup
Kai is actually really good at doing hair, because he wanted to be able to do the braids and styles Nya wanted growing up, so he learned just for her. He's basically a stylist at this point, he even helped her dye it to have those streaks she wanted. He can braid, trim, dye, cut, anything you could want
Nya is a mix of ladylike and tomboy where she can kick your ass while wearing cute shoes because she did always want to keep up with Kai, she also has a high sense of fashion and sees no reason to sacrifice looking good for being strong and independent
Dont think she's shallow though. Nya is really down to earth! Honestly if either sibling is shallow, it's Kai, a little bit. He does sort of judge on appearances and he cares quite a bit about how he looks, and he's way more sensitive than he wants anyone to realize
