ah the full frontal original experience lmao I highly recommend the final cut as well, it adds on to it with better pacing at some points, better use of the score and it's always great to spot extra scenes that weren't in the pilot <3 i am a little biased to it because i've seen it after watching the entire circus = nostalgia explosion

Is that a headcanon I've been taking at face value?

No not canon. But he's also not fourth in line of the chain of command at the SGC and I've seen that too.

I've been racking my brains to see if I could remember it being mentioned somewhere, but no. The closest to it would probably be this;

He does say 'why didn't you tell me' as opposed to 'why didn't you tell the SGC' so there is definitely a "if you found a rock, give it to doctor Jackson first" policy, because I don't think Daniel is quite that full of himself to be saying it like this just cause . . .
