âWould it be extremely cheesy to say âyour worst nightmareâ? âCause I am THAT lameâŠâ Winnifred replied, dropping the rest of her bags she was carrying on the ground just so she could return the embrace just as tightly. âYou think? I guess Iâve got to thank the gloomy weather for making me twice as radiant as the Sun back there â thank you!â Great joke there, Fred; she eventually replied, slowly backing away to make some more room for India to join in the hug. If there was one thing she definitely missed about being back here, it would have to be this. Being so close with the girls she admired and could call friends was truly something else. Something so amazing, it kept making her stomach turn and cheeks warm up at the mere thought of how caring and loving they were, even after her fuck up of the century. Was it safe to assume everyone was over it already? Freddie couldnât really tell, but sheâd keep hoping for the best, really.
ââ mum threw away half of my closet âcause it had holes, and I sorta needed tâget some new clothes, you know,â the blonde quipped, âThat, and I got myself a new foundation â looks good, doesnât it?â Stepping back once again, she laughed and nodded in the direction of their flat. âShall we just⊠come in now, or is there someone else out here I should hug the living shit out of, too?â
Jules rolled her eyes and chuckled slightly, shaking her head. âI want to kill you just for that stupid joke, but Iâm not even going to let it hit yet. Youâre in no way a nightmare, not looking like this. You look really good, Fred.â It wasnât like she didnât before. The new look was definitely a surprise, a good one. But despite the obvious change, she looked amazing. She was different. She seemed happy, healthy, and still just as beautiful as before. It was in no way a nightmare, but it definitely felt like some kind of dream. As India joined, Jules let out a deep breath. It felt like a sigh of relief, knowing that Winnifred was back, but definitely knew that it was heavier than that. She had this secret, this lie weighing on her. She wasnât ready to tell Fred yet but knew it had to happen soon, or sheâd be the biggest hypocrite ever. Not that she already wasnât. She pulled back and smiled at the girl, nodding her head. âI think a little re-bonding shopping trip is something we could all do. Anything to spend time with you again.â She stepped back and pulled India with her, letting the door space be emptied again for Fred to take the step in. She sighed again and followed both girls in, shutting the door behind her. âItâs only been a little bit but feels like years. I feel like I need to start making a huge dinner and let you sleep for ages, care for your every need. Not that I am, or would I let you sleep without hanging out for a bit, but still.â
India stayed quiet, a small feeling of guilt eating its way through her stomach. As happy as she was that Fred was back, she couldnât help but feel like she had betrayed their friendship a little. As she moved back inside, she couldnât help but snort at Jules. âAlright, alright, let the girl breathe!â She chuckled, shaking her head as she went back to throw herself onto the sofa. âSo, you left your mum only to come back to Jules deciding to act like her too.â She teased, as she lifted her legs up, resting her chin on her knees. âSo, what else did you get up to while you were so busy missing us?â She asked, smiling, trying to make everything seem normal again.
