India had been trying her best to ignore the lingering feelings she had for Fred. She had been too busy trying to focus on whatever was going on with Jules. Realistically, she should hae though harder about it all, so that she wouldn’t currently be sat in silence looking probably a bit like an idiot. She knew Jules was right, and there was no way they could go without telling her, ot without being the worst friends in the world. She sighed with a nod. “Yeah, we should tell her.” Before she could continue that thought, not that there was much of it, the knock at the door caused her brow to furrow. She wasn’t expecting anyone. Not putting up a resistance to Jules getting the door, she sat further back on the couch, sighing. She frowned again as she heard her name, confusion quickly turning into a grin as soon as she spotted Fred. Throwing herself at the two of them she joined in the hug, everything else forgotten momentarily, as she just was happy to have the gang back together. “Something is different about you but I can’t quite put my finger on it.” She teased, moving back an inch.
“Would it be extremely cheesy to say ‘your worst nightmare’? ‘Cause I am THAT lame…” Winnifred replied, dropping the rest of her bags she was carrying on the ground just so she could return the embrace just as tightly. “You think? I guess I’ve got to thank the gloomy weather for making me twice as radiant as the Sun back there – thank you!” Great joke there, Fred; she eventually replied, slowly backing away to make some more room for India to join in the hug. If there was one thing she definitely missed about being back here, it would have to be this. Being so close with the girls she admired and could call friends was truly something else. Something so amazing, it kept making her stomach turn and cheeks warm up at the mere thought of how caring and loving they were, even after her fuck up of the century. Was it safe to assume everyone was over it already? Freddie couldn’t really tell, but she’d keep hoping for the best, really.
“— mum threw away half of my closet ‘cause it had holes, and I sorta needed t’get some new clothes, you know,” the blonde quipped, “That, and I got myself a new foundation – looks good, doesn’t it?” Stepping back once again, she laughed and nodded in the direction of their flat. “Shall we just… come in now, or is there someone else out here I should hug the living shit out of, too?”
Jules rolled her eyes and chuckled slightly, shaking her head. “I want to kill you just for that stupid joke, but I’m not even going to let it hit yet. You’re in no way a nightmare, not looking like this. You look really good, Fred.” It wasn’t like she didn’t before. The new look was definitely a surprise, a good one. But despite the obvious change, she looked amazing. She was different. She seemed happy, healthy, and still just as beautiful as before. It was in no way a nightmare, but it definitely felt like some kind of dream. As India joined, Jules let out a deep breath. It felt like a sigh of relief, knowing that Winnifred was back, but definitely knew that it was heavier than that. She had this secret, this lie weighing on her. She wasn’t ready to tell Fred yet but knew it had to happen soon, or she’d be the biggest hypocrite ever. Not that she already wasn’t. She pulled back and smiled at the girl, nodding her head. “I think a little re-bonding shopping trip is something we could all do. Anything to spend time with you again.” She stepped back and pulled India with her, letting the door space be emptied again for Fred to take the step in. She sighed again and followed both girls in, shutting the door behind her. “It’s only been a little bit but feels like years. I feel like I need to start making a huge dinner and let you sleep for ages, care for your every need. Not that I am, or would I let you sleep without hanging out for a bit, but still.”
