Jules rolled her eyes and chuckled slightly, shaking her head. “I want to kill you just for that stupid joke, but I’m not even going to let it hit yet. You’re in no way a nightmare, not looking like this. You look really good, Fred.” It wasn’t like she didn’t before. The new look was definitely a surprise, a good one. But despite the obvious change, she looked amazing. She was different. She seemed happy, healthy, and still just as beautiful as before. It was in no way a nightmare, but it definitely felt like some kind of dream. As India joined, Jules let out a deep breath. It felt like a sigh of relief, knowing that Winnifred was back, but definitely knew that it was heavier than that. She had this secret, this lie weighing on her. She wasn’t ready to tell Fred yet but knew it had to happen soon, or she’d be the biggest hypocrite ever. Not that she already wasn’t. She pulled back and smiled at the girl, nodding her head. “I think a little re-bonding shopping trip is something we could all do. Anything to spend time with you again.” She stepped back and pulled India with her, letting the door space be emptied again for Fred to take the step in. She sighed again and followed both girls in, shutting the door behind her. “It’s only been a little bit but feels like years. I feel like I need to start making a huge dinner and let you sleep for ages, care for your every need. Not that I am, or would I let you sleep without hanging out for a bit, but still.”
India stayed quiet, a small feeling of guilt eating its way through her stomach. As happy as she was that Fred was back, she couldn’t help but feel like she had betrayed their friendship a little. As she moved back inside, she couldn’t help but snort at Jules. “Alright, alright, let the girl breathe!” She chuckled, shaking her head as she went back to throw herself onto the sofa. “So, you left your mum only to come back to Jules deciding to act like her too.” She teased, as she lifted her legs up, resting her chin on her knees. “So, what else did you get up to while you were so busy missing us?” She asked, smiling, trying to make everything seem normal again.
“Easy there, mate! I’ve gotten used to getting hugged like that -- back home, they’ve all just threw themselves at me, as if I haven’t just visited them few months ago. Cousins, aunts, uncles...” and neither of her parents, to be honest. They belonged to those who seemed like they weren’t the biggest fans of displays of admiration, or... any kinds of emotions, really. Despite that, she was still pretty happy to see them, how could she not be? After all, they still were the people who raised her, a little bit too robotic for her tastes, but they still deserved her love and attention. “Come on now, Jules... I can’t possibly let you make me anything to eat now. I feel like ordering pizza would do just fine -- good sure I missed unhealthy food, just as much as I missed you two’s faces, yeah?” Now, that was cheesy -- and hopefully so will be the pizza they will eventually end up ordering. “I... sort of left the... band? I mean, not officially, but I won’t really be hanging out with them anymore -- I want to get a job at the local orchestra n’ shit...” so much for keeping this thing a secret, right? She was never particularly good at it, anyway. “If I really want to get back on track with my life and live it to the fullest, I’ve got to stop hanging out with wrong crowds, don’t I?”
