"A viagem supõe uma experimentação em nós que tem a ver com exercícios costumeiros entre os filósofos antigos: O que posso saber de mim? O que posso aprender e descobrir ao meu respeito se mudo de lugares habituais e modifico minhas referências? O que resta da minha identidade, tribais, quando me vejo sozinho ou quase, num ambiente hostil ou pelo menos inquietante, perturbado, angustiante?"
"No começo, bem antes de todo gesto, de toda iniciativa e de toda vontade deliberada de viajar, o corpo trabalha, à maneira dos metais, sob a ação do sol. Na evidência dos elementos, ele se mexe, se dilata, se estende, se distende e modifica seus volumes. Toda genealogia se perde nas águas tépidas de um líquido amniótico, esse banho estelar primitivo onde cintilam as estrelas com as quais, mais tarde, se fabricam mapas do céu, depois topografias luminosas nas quais desponta e se aponta a Estrela do pastor - que meu pai foi o primeiro a me ensinar - entre as constelações diversas. O desejo de viagem tem sua confusa origem nessa água lustral, tépida, ele se alimenta estranhamente dessa superfície metafísica e dessa ontologia germinativa. Ninguém se torna nômade impenitente a não ser instruído, na carne, pelas horas do ventre materno, arredondado como um globo, um mapa-múndi. O resto é pergaminho já escrito."

"The trip involves an experimentation of ourselves in which we have to do with customary exercise from our ancient philosophers: What can I know of myself? What can I learn and discover about myself if I change habitual places and modify my references? What remains of my identity, tribal, when I see myself alone or almost, in a hostile environment or at least uneasy, disturbed, anxious?"
"In the beginning, before any gesture, all initiative and every deliberate desire to travel, the body works in the manner of the metals under the action of the sun. Perceiving the evidence of the elements the body moves, expands, extends, streches and modifies its volume. All this genealogy get lost in tepid waters of an amniotic fluid, a stellar primitive shower where starts twinkle which later manufactures maps in the sky, then shinning topographies which emerges and indicates the pastor’s Star - my dad was the first one to teach me - between the various constellations. The desire to travel has a confused origin in this lustral tepid water, it strangely feeds of this metaphysics surface and germinal ontology. Nobody becomes unrepentant nomad unless instructed in the flesh, by hours of the maternal belly rounded like a globe, a map of the world. The rest is already a written parchment."
