“The American singer spotted 7-year-old Mya Taylor wearing one of her T-shirts when they were both at Melbourne Airport on Sunday.  Mya had seen Swift perform live at AAMI Stadium the night before with her brother, 5-year-old Luka, and parents Carl and Claire. Carl said they were going through Customs on their way home after a whirlwind trip – an “early Christmas present” for the children. “Taylor was just in the line next to us. [Mya] turned around and Taylor had spotted her,” he said.“She came up to us, there was no issues. There was no-one bothering her either, it’s almost as if people didn’t really recognise her.” Swift noticed Mya was wearing a T-shirt with her name and face on it and asked if she could speak to her.“Of course we said ‘hell yeah’,” Carl said. Mya and Luka posed for photographs with Swift and spoke about seeing her perform the night before. “We were right down the back on the floor. We could hardly see… so to meet her later was great. She’s just such a nice person. We couldn’t believe just how genuine she is.”

Mya, whose favourite Swift song was Shake It Off, said she was a “little bit nervous” to speak to the singer in person. “She was kind and friendly.” Mya rang friends in Christchurch right after the meeting to share the exciting news, her father said. “She was absolutely, absolutely ecstatic.
