Okay, something I realized after today’s events is that there are a lack of proposal fics in the x reader (maybe this is in the member x member section too) section of Metallica. Not just for James, but for all the members. Proposal fics would be such so much fun and cute!

Kirk planted his hand on your thigh as the store came into view from the car. You looked over at him, the sun glaring in your eyes as you took him in. His dreads were pulled back into a ponytail. He was wearing a shirt with a jacket and some jeans. You two were on your way to your guys’ favorite sex store that you both frequented. Though this time around, you both weren’t going to browse and just look around. You two were going to get something specific.
That specific thing you two were going to get was a sex swing. You and Kirk both enjoyed using toys during sex, and you both had been talking about getting a sex swing for the longest time, and now here you both were. On the way to the store to get one.
You were excited, but also nervous. You and Kirk weren’t strangers when it came to using toys during sex, but this would be the first time you would be using a sex swing. It would also be Kirk’s first time using one. So, at least you would both be learning. It still did not erase your nervousness, though. And it also did not help that you were nervous that people in the store would judge you, even though they more than likely would not. They never have judged you two before so why would now be different?
And as Kirk pulled into a parking spot, your heart started racing. You shouldn’t be this nervous. You know you shouldn’t be, especially when Kirk wasn’t. But you pushed your nerves as far down as they could go, and you got out of the car, patiently waiting for Kirk to get out.
When he did get out, Kirk walked over to you and grabbed your hand, bringing it up to place a kiss on your fingers before dropping it and turning to walk hand in hand to the entrance. And by this point, your nerves started to rise again as you two reached the door. The clerk let you two past, not needing to see your ID’s anymore with how frequently you and Kirk come in.
Normally, you two would browse the various aisles, looking at any new stuff that you two may not have. But today, Kirk just immediately went to the section where he knew the sex swings would be at. Obviously, you followed behind him.
And it was at this point when your nerves disappeared. There were other people in the store, sure. But they weren’t even looking towards the direction of you and Kirk. They were concerned with their own shopping. Not what you and Kirk were doing.
You and Kirk reached the section that was home to various sex swings. He pulled you close by your waist as you two looked over the selection of swings. “Which one do you like the best?” Kirk asked, turning his head to look at you.
“Ummmm,” you dragged out, head turning as you looked at all of the swings. “I think I like that one,” you pointed at one on the shelf. You couldn’t really tell a difference between them, you just liked the red thread that kept the swing sewn.
“Okay then. That’s the one we will get then,” Kirk said as he picked it off of the shelf. Then, you two walked hand in hand to the register. Kirk paid in cash and you two left. You both reached the car quickly, excited to test out the swing. He unlocked the car, you got in the passenger seat as Kirk threw the box in the back seat before eagerly getting into the driver's seat. “We’re going home and getting that thing set up,” Kirk said with a smirk on his face.

James’s breath hitched in his throat as he parked the car and turned it off, pulling the key out of the ignition. You were in the passenger seat, slowly leaning down to grab your purse from the floorboard. James was nervous as hell. And he didn’t know why. He had no reason to be nervous, right? Right?
It was your second anniversary together, so obviously you and James wanted to celebrate since he was home from tour for a bit. And to him, celebrating your anniversary meant spoiling you. He loved buying you things. When you two first got together he didn’t have the most money to spend on you, but since Metallica has gained lots of traction from the new album, RIde The Lightning, James has non stop spoiled you.
You were very thankful that he wanted to spoil you, but you tried to explain to him that you didn’t need physical things to show his love. Nevertheless, James did not care nor listen. He liked to spoil you, and today was no different. Last night he noticed you looking through a catalogue of lingerie. So obviously he had you point out five pairs that you liked.
And now, here you both were, parked in front of a sex store. What James had failed to realize is that that lingerie catalogue was from a sex store, which meant you had to go into it to purchase the lingerie.
You stepped out of the car first and James very quickly followed. He locked the car and made his way around it to you, his arm wrapping around your waist. His heart was beating fast as you two were stopped inside of the entrance, having to show your ID’s to the worker at the counter. She clears you both and allows you to go look around.
Immediately, you head towards the lingerie section. James follows, his arm still tightly wound around your waist. His eyes glance over everything that he passes by. He sees shelves full of all kinds of toys that he doesn’t know the name of. And he’s not sure if he ever would want to know the names of them. Finally, you reach the lingerie and James sighs a sigh of relief.
You immediately start looking around for the lingerie set that you had seen in that catalogue. James also starts looking around at the lingerie. A few sets catch his eye, and out of the corner of your eye you can see him take a few pieces in your size off the rack before he started walking over to you. He tilted his head downward so he didn’t have to look into your eyes. “Um… I found these… I think they’d look hot on you,” he says quietly. You laugh lightly at him. Even after being together for two years, he is still shy when it comes to lingerie.
“They’re pretty,” you say as you quickly browse through them. James’s head perks up immediately.
“Do you want them?” There’s a glint in his eye.
“Sure,” you answer. A big smile breaks out on James’s face. You lean forwards to give him a light kiss on his lips. “I found the lingerie that was in that catalogue so I’m ready whenever you are,” you say. James nods and sighs, ready to leave and head home.
“Yeah, let’s go,” he says as the two of you start walking to the register. As you both are walking, you pass another couple who are looking at some sort of toy. Something about seeing them sent anxiety down James’s spine. He’s not against using toys, in fact he think it’d be kind of hot to see you fuck yourself with a vibrator or dildo, but in the back of his mind he can’t help but think that you using toys would mean that he’s bad in bed, even though you constantly tell him how good he makes you feel.
He’s insecure due to how little experience he has. You were his first afterall. And while he was also your first, he couldn’t help but think that you would eventually find someone who could make you feel better than he could. And to him, you using toys meant that he wasn’t fulfilling his duties as your boyfriend. You always assured him that he was the best and that he always made you feel good and that using toys wouldn’t make him incompetent, but that insecurity was still there.
The two of you check out, James paying for you to your dismay, then you two walk out and head to his car. “You’re trying all of those on when we get home, you know?” James says as he starts the car. He pulls out of the parking lot.
“I know,” you say, hoping that afterwards he’ll finally believe you when you say he makes you feel good. Or, at least, hoping that he’ll fuck you until he’s satisfied that you’re satisfied.

Kirk was smiling ear to ear as he pulled out of the driveway; you were in the passenger seat. This new sex store had opened while he was on tour and when you called to tell him about it, he just had to go in there with you once he got back. And that is what you two were currently doing. Kirk was ecstatic, and so were you. You were both accustomed to using toys quite often during sex, and any chance that Kirk had to add to the toy collection, he took it. After about twenty minutes of driving, Kirk pulled into the parking lot next to the sex store that was located just on the outskirts of San Francisco. He put the car in park, turned it off, unbuckled his seat belt and got out of the car. You laugh and unbuckle your seatbelt, grabbing his hand and your purse at the same time, stepping out of the car. Kirk closes the door for you and takes your hand in his, leading you into the store.
The two of you walk inside, showing the worker your ID’s before starting to browse the selection of toys. Kirk takes the lead, picking up a basket as you both walk towards the section with the sign "Miscellaneous” above it. You look around at the store as you walk. The store has almost a gothic feel to it with all of the dark purple and black colors strewn around. Kirk stops in front of one of the shelves and starts browsing at the items. You’re still looking around when Kirk nudges your shoulder.
“Hmm?” You hum, turning to Kirk who is staring lovingly at you. You take in his face for just a moment, your eyes glancing over his pointy labret piercing that shines underneath the lights of teh store.
Kirk holds up a box with a pair of silver nipple clamps. “What do you think of these? You think you’d want to try them out?” He asks, raising an eyebrow at you.
“Try them on me or you?” You ask jokingly but Kirk being, well, Kirk, takes it as a serious thing.
“Yeah we can try them out on each other if you want.” He is dead serious while you’re blushing and smiling.
“Okay, let’s get them then,” you answer. Kirk nods and puts the box in the basket as he walks over to the wall of floggers. You were just a bit confused as to why he’s looking at these as you already have three of them. Kirk senses your confusion and turns to you. “I just wanted to see what they had. I’m perfectly fine with the ones we already have,” he says just loud enough for you to hear. Your face turns red again. You’re used to Kirk saying dirty things, especially in public, but for some reason, him saying these things to you in this store is driving you even crazier than it normally would.
Kirk notices the blush that appears on your face and he smiles before pulling you into his side to walk to the lingerie section of the store. You look around at everything, every style, every color, and every type of lingerie that the store has available. Some catch your eye, some are just plain ugly, but eitehr way you were excited to look at all of the lingerie. And so was Kirk.
As soon as Kirk got to the section, he left your side and immediately went to look at this black set with a vibrant pink lace lining it. The black lace bra looked like it would barely cover anything at all, and the matching thong wasn’t much better. It came with a garter belt that was the same vibrant pink as the lace trim. It was by all means beautiful.
Kirk scanned through the rack, grabbing your size and held it up to you, imagining the way it would look on your body. His mouth watered at the mental image and he felt his cock tingle at the thought of you in it. “We’re getting this,” he said bluntly as he placed the set in the basket beside the nipple clamps.
The two of you spend a few more minutes looking at the lingerie, grabbing three more sets – a red one, a purple one, and a white one. As Kirk places the last set in the basket, his eye catches a glimpse at the actual sex toys. “Baby,” he says as he grabs your hand and pulls you to the section of vibrators, dildos, and plugs. He turns his head to look around for a second before looking at you.
“I think I’ve looked at everything I wanted to,” he says before leaning in to kiss your lips. “Let’s get out of here.”
He leads you to the checkout counter, placing the basket on it in front of the lady. She scans each item, folding the lingerie neatly and placing it in the bag, the plug and nipple clamps going on top of them in the back.
The lady reads Kikr the total as he takes his card out of his wallet. He hands her the card and she swipes it on the card reader. It takes a few more minutes than normal and the lady explains that the machine is new to her and she’s still figuring things out. Kirk says it’s no problem.
After about two minutes, she hands Kirk his card back and prints the receipt, placing it in the bag before handing it to you. You and Kirk walk out the car, hand in hand, the sun beginning to set in the background. “We’ll need to perform a little quality control on that shit when we get home, you know?” Kirk says as he pulls out of the parking lot. You know you’re going to be in his bed for the next few days and you can not wait.
