“I don’t mind the rain, I’m from Oregon so it kinda reminds me of home.” Amelia overshared needlessly, “That’s fucking dope, though. I’ve never been to Milan, I’d love to get to go sometime. Who did you walk for?”
“I walked for Ujoh; they’d done Tokyo Fashion Week a few times but it was their first time in Milan,” Indigo explained. “I’m surprised you’ve never walked in Milan, though. It’s only a matter of time, I guess. Maybe next year?”
the prices at this coffeehouse were to die for. the expresso wasn’t over priced and the ambiance was just perfect to focus on work. the door dinged open and a familiar face strolled through. jackie had heard of indigo’s work, learning more and more about the importance of their stance on gender. it’s a topic that jackie is still exploring and learning about. figuring there wouldn’t be another time that she’d be able to actually meet and talk to them, jackie closed her laptop and roamed over to where indigo was sitting. “what was the name of that,” she points to the drink before them. “coffee you got?” jackie sometimes wished she didn’t suck at initiating conversation.
Indigo looked up and took a second to comprehend the question. Sometimes they forgot they knew English like that. “Oh!” they exclaimed when they understood. “It’s Vietnamese iced coffee. Basically iced coffee with uh... what’s it called... sweetened... sweetened condensed milk.”
She smiled as they joined her. It’d been a while since she’d seen them. She supposed that’s to be expected in their line of work though. She should probably count herself lucky to just randomly bump into them. “Hey, how’ve you been?” She asked casually.
“Pretty good, pretty good,” Indigo said. “Just had this big shoot with Out come... well, come out, so that was pretty cool.” They took a sip of their coffee. “What about you, what’ve you been up to?”
“I’m so jealous of anyone whose schedule allowed them to do London Fashion Week this year. I got invited to walk in three different shows and had to turn them down because I have shit booked in LA this coming week- which is cool and all but like, I love London. And the weather is just getting all cute and autumn-y there.”
Nala was still getting used to being recognized in public, especially after it was announced she was joining the Black Panther franchise. More and more people stopped her to say hi and congratulations on the role. Sometimes their comments weren’t so nice, but she chooses to ignore those. She was used to because of her time with Disney little kids recognizing her, but now it was adults, and that was awkward for her. She sat in the back corner of a random coffee shop she walked into trying to avoid some paparazzi, sipping on a chai tea latte. Times like these were when she could wind down for a moment. When she noticed Indigo walk in she smiled and tried to catch their attention by waving.
Indigo noticed someone waving at them right after they got their coffee. Indigo vaguely recognized them, but smiled and waved back anyway, going over to sit across from them. “Hey!” they greeted.
Another day, another reporter trying to figure out what was in Indigo’s pants. They didn’t put it quite so crassly, of course, phrasing it more like “so you identify as being agender, and I understand that, but you must have a sex, right? either XX chromosomes or XY?” and Indigo would just say “yes, I have either XX or XY chromosomes” and refuse to say anything more about it. It pissed off the reporters, but it didn’t hurt their reputation at all. If anything, it helped their reputation. It was still frustrating, though, so after the interview Indigo decided to go get some coffee at their favorite local coffeeshop - one that made amazing Vietnamese iced coffee. That’s what they ordered, looking around to see if they recognized anyone while waiting for their drink to be made.
i just spotted indigo teh walking down the streets of los angeles! you know, the twenty-three year old, agender, B lister. you know them from their shoot with OUT, and they’re actually about to do another one with TEEN VOGUE. a lot of people say that they look a bit like AMBER LIU, although i don’t see it. their co-workers say they can be outgoing, but others say they can be unfocused.
hey everyone! i’m isabel! i’m 22, live in est, and use they/them pronouns. message me if you’d like to plot for indigo (or my other character, ruby, who i’ll be making an intro post for soon).
death tw
has identified as agender for their entire life, pretty much, even before they knew the word for it.
so androgynous.
had wealthy parents, so grew up pretty privileged in beijing. their parents died when they were twenty, though, in a car crash.
is like? a queer icon now? because of their lack of gender and how prominent they’ve become in the modeling world.
super tired of being asked in interviews questions that are the equivalent of “what’s in your pants?”
but they’re actually super outgoing and even bubbly and love to just have fun and joke around.
usually seems really naive, but sometimes just comes out with something totally inappropriate and it’s like woah where did you learn that.
idk i’m still getting a feel for them so if you have any ideas for connections of plots or anything please please please let me know!
